Dennise - No Longer The Newest Of Newbies - Not Growing In MG - Perpetual

Exciting line up you have there, Dennise!

I think every grower's approach is always changing a little bit. Sort of like people who brew beer or whatever. You always alter things and see how they turn out.

We're all scientists I tell yah! :)

Word. :cheesygrinsmiley:

And most of us are vulnerable to obssessing on the small stuff. :;): You don't need "organic" soil to raise a healthy microbe population.

Morning everybody..:byebye: I just looked in the box at the Clone family 5 and one of them is blooming. She is throwing that sexy self all over the place. They are still in 1 gallon pots and I have them all bent over but apparently they like it. I didn't look real close at the others yet but figure they won't be long behind. I heard from Sara today and my light should be here next week and it sure is a good thing. Got to go to an appointment today but when I get home this afternoon I guess I will have to do a bit more bending on them until the new light gets here.....:yahoo::yahoo:

I finally got the soil home. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get it out of the trunk of my car. I thought I was going to pick up a bag of soil but oh noooo... It's a bale of soil and weighs 80lbs but any who this is what I came up with and I think it will be just fine.....

Berger soil BM1
This family of general-purpose mixes is ideal for a wide variety of plants.

The perlite and vermiculite content improves aeration while regulating the moisture and nutrients holding capacity necessary for rapid root growth.

General purpose mix
Incubated pH = 5.4 - 6.2
Coarse peat moss; Horticultural perlite; Horticultural Vermiculite; Dolomitic limestone; Calcitic limestone; Non-ionic wetting agent
The most popular in the series.
Uses:
General greenhouse use; propagation/cuttings; sub-irrigation
Plants:
General purpose, bedding plants, potted plants, propagation/cuttings

There are no NPK values and it does not state anywhere there is added nutes and as soon as I can figure out how to get it out of my car I will take a pic of the bag in case I am missing something.........:thumb:

"Coarse peat moss; Horticultural perlite; Horticultural Vermiculite; Dolomitic limestone; Calcitic limestone; Non-ionic wetting agent"

Looks just like Pro-Mix to me ...

Peat moss = good
Perlite AND vemiculite = good
Dolomitic AND Calcitic = good
wetting agent (probably yucca) = good

You can do anything you want with that.

Score!

In other words, you bought a bale of promix! Haha. Did I tell you that a key word to avoid in any bag of mix is the word "soil." If a bag says "potting soil" it is junk and do not use it.

You only have to water once with mychorizzae, so it is not important to have it over and over in any application. The fungal threads attach to the root hairs and do not get washed out...as an aside.

Well seeing as of I thought I was going to get a bag of it and ended up with enough to last me till the end of time I recon that's a good thing and it is dirt cheap! I kinda lost my temper with the guy that I had been conversing with to avoid having to drive over 100 miles for nothing and when I got there and he had quoted me a price for a bag not a bale and then I recontacted him to make sure it was in stock but when I got there he actually looked at me and said "You didn't ask if the bag size was in stock"!!!! Well why would I ask for something other than the product I had been given a price for ??? Any who someone overheard our "conversation" and apparently they were somebody and I got the whole bale for what the bag was supposed to cost. Sometimes it's good to stand up for yourself. :high-five:

OMG!!!! I never dreamed this would pass your inspection. :thumb: That thrills me. I ended up with so much more than I intended I was stressing but if this passes you I know it will work for organic....:woohoo:

And last but not least the beautifully huge cabinet girls that are showing sex all over the place too. I have not flipped to 12/12 or added the flower spectrum but they don't seem to care. Going to leave them in veg until I chop down the closet girls so they are just going to do whatever they are doing for another week or 2 or however long them things have in there. If someone wants to jump in and let me know what they think about timing on the closet girls I sure would be happy to listen. Someone was talking on a thread but I can't remember who about time to harvest. I know the milky to amber thing but they were talking about something on the pistils on the stalk turning down or something. I obviously don't know what I am talking about but if any of you guys do please let me know. What if anything other than the color of the trichs do you look for to know it is the best time to harvest???...........:circle-of-love:

.

The best mix I've ever used is TGA's Super Soil. ;)

the closet girls need a couple more weeks. I like to go 9-10 weeks from first pistil sighting.
