Re: Outdoor grow BPN

to fim, you see the bit in your hand, well you see the new growth at the tip where the new leaves are coming out, well you take 80% of that away, so you peel the leaves back without cutting them off and then you get to the stem of the plant, its this stem you cut 80% off so the piece in your hand will still have them 2 biggest leaves on and the little bud type thing in the middle is the piece you cut 80% out of, what it does is should give you 4 tops but then you can fim them as well etc etc, but what it does is the bit you fimd splits into 2 new shoots instead of the one shoot that you cut 80% off then the 2 shoots at the node below it grow at the same rate so that gives you the 4 heads, i tried it with mine and it didnt work it just slowed growth loads and ended up groing on 1 shoot as if it hadnt been fim, so today i cut off this growth and topped it like you have and mudpie has, so now i have got 2 main shoots coming up, if you check mr mud pies journal you will see how his topped plant looks now,

so what you have done is topped it, fimming is slightly different, if you look in the how to section on this site their should be a picture to show you or use you tube and serch for cannabis fim technique

Re: Outdoor grow BPN

after having a close look at the plant you have cut it looks like you will have 2 shoots from the nodes and the stem that you cut might grow back as a stem as mine did, but mine stunted growth loads and the new growth was very slow so i just topped it as the 2 shoots below it looked really healthy and they was growing very fast where as this new top tip had slowed right down so its gone,

Re: Outdoor grow BPN

that link should be a picture of the fim technique, just use google and type in how to fim and it will list loads of how to guides, in the video i posted the kid who done the fim didnt do it properly he didnt cut enough off so not the best vid to show you, he needed to cut slightly more off so that he wasnt just cutting into the leaves, you need to cut into the leaves and the very tip of the stem where the new growth is, that should then give you 4 tops, i tried it and it didnt work on my top tip, but i tried it on a lower branch and it worked so when it grows out ill train this new growth,

but i would stick with topping till you have got your grow more dialed in, you can always top the new growth to keep doubling up on the shoots

Re: Outdoor grow BPN

no it will grow mate, it just the main stem wont be the main stem anymore, the plant now pushes the 2 branches at the node below to be the top branches, look at mr mud pies journal and its one of the last pages and instead of his plant having 1 main shoot it has now got 2, it wont stop growing, it just makes the plant have other tops, i fimd mi ne wrong and this stunted growth, if i had topped it like you have in the first place my new shoots would be a lot bigger, so now with your plant your going to have 2 main shoots growing from where you topped it.

so if you look at your plant, well where you topped it their is the new growth growing where the 2 top leaves meet the stem, well them 2 shoots coming out at the stem where the very top leaves are will now grow and be the top stem, mr mud pies pictures show this very well indeed you can clearly see his plant dont have one shoot but it has now got 2 main shoots, so dont worry your plant wont suffer, you topped it so you will have at least 2 main stems and possibly 3 if the main stem recovers and grows back, thats what stunted my plant as i dont it wrong and their was enough growth left for the plant to try and recover, i should of topped mine instead of the fim then i think my plant would have grown a lot quicker than it did, from now on im going to use the topping method as its a lot easier and gives the same results

Re: Outdoor grow BPN

no probs, look at mr mud pies and you will see exactly what i mean, he has got the perfect picture of a topped plant after its been growing for a while, when you have a look you will see exactly what i mean, it will put your mind at rest,

Re: Outdoor grow BPN

just bare in mind that getting the fimming wrong like i did can stunt upwards growth as the plant tries to grow back whats been taken, when you fin your leaving some of the growth on the plant, so the plant works at growing that again and i think thats what stunted mine, you can always top the new growth when its grown a bit, you can top all the lower branches as well to double each of them up, but if you do this you may need to support the stems when you flower it as it will be holding twice as much weight as it should

Re: Outdoor grow BPN

Yeah if you take a look at it from when i toped it and I CUT A LEAF OFF (did alot worst than you but the results are amazing :) for the 2 leafs lost i gained 8 and i even saw another 2 set growing on the bottom!! that makes 10 now so ya she willl be a monster just like yours :) cant wait! BPN FTW!

Yeah i had to do some really good Stem training to make hers as big as it is about a dime wide now :) and it will only get stronger now they she has 3 supports pulling differnt direction to control the wind more :welldone:

Re: Outdoor grow BPN

glad to offer you some advice mate, you should get more yield topping as well and more growth, if you topped the lower branches as well you would get more bushy plant, you just need to make sure you have got enough light getting in when your flowering it off,
