AND QUICK UPDATE the 2nd mr nice seed is juussstttt poking through the soil and the autos as well so prob in the next two days they will be completely out of dirt (knock on wood)

thats his umbrella for his plants, when he gets a storm he puts it over the plants and it stops the drowning, brilliant idea, and it still lets the light through, he made it when his plants where small, not sure if he will need it now the plants are getting bigger but he can use it for the next lot of plants, it was a good idea to solve a problem, and it worked and saved his plants from the heavy storm

haha right, that is a pretty neat little contraption! I use the clear plastic drop cloth from home depot, the ones people use for painting. It's only a couple dollars and is like 9' x 12'. I use it like a row cover on larger plants and tomatoes during the rain

eh ill catch myself running in the woods at 11 at night to put the DIY rain protecter over her cuz I'm a paranoid F@#K LOL but nahh its good for when these big storms come through!

well you gota keep the ladies happy, look after them and they look after you, plus when its covered in buds you dont want the plant drowned and stems breaking under the weight, but you may need a slightly bigger umbrella for when the ladies turn into big monsters,

you wont be running in the woods then when you got some big contraption to cover the plants wiv,

insomnia night yet again and i got no smoke either, 5:05am and still no sleep, wide awake, everyone else is asleep, i wont be getting any tonight, gona have shitty day now, but thats life,

sorry to hear about insomnia. i have that same crap. ESPECIALLY with no smoke brotha. And yea i will be making a MUCH bigger DIY rain protector. no worries though. couple pieces of pvc and seran wrap will do the trick

ANYWAYYSSSS SO IT RAINED TWICE OVERNIGHT. I let her get the light shower this morning and she loved it

the big storms she was under the DIY rain protector.

Mr nice #2 has sprouted

the autos still have yet to break soil. but they will! I have GREAT confidence in them! plus Mr nice was in the grodan cube germing two days before the autos.

i need some feedback on fimming or topping.

I WANT A LOT OF COLAS, but at the same time this plant is gna be growing from now till prob early october. so i kinda want to let nature "make like a tree" AND GET HUGE.

if i top will it stop its vertical growth? will it not get as big? I want my finished product to be monstrous. any input HIGHLY APPRECIATED ANDDDD. GREAT ANSWERS WILL ALWAYS RECIEVE REP FROM ME

I would let it get go all natural bro unless you wanna have a two topped monster but that things going to be huge being all outdoor. You don't need to worry about having many colas your side branches are going to have huge buds on them and you will get MORE then enough weed out of it. The only reason I would train it in anyway really would be to make it look cool.

but yea i think ima let this one go. but with the little sprout in the picture above which is same strain photoperiod is gonna be outdoors. so maybe ill experiment with her. all the autos will be left alone since they are fast growing i don't want to stress them at all ill let them do what they do

Lol. I just worry about you doing it early on and having the tops being to top heavy and a little wind and they snap off. If you were to do it I would top before it started flowering not now. But take others advice cause I've never had the pleasure to grow outdoors.

I would top or Fim it once and then Low stress train the tops. Repeatedly topping or fimming will slow the growth down a few days each time you do it which is why I advise just to do it once at the 5th or 6th node, then tie down those tops. I grow outdoors and letting a plant grow naturally is cool and all but it is just doesn't yield very much, I got almost double the yield using just LST. If you looks at large grow ops, such as Captain Kronics, or all the grows in the emerald triangle, they top/Fim and LST. They also get 2-4 LBS per plant.

Here are some pics from my last grow that might help you out (they were all vegged for about 1 1/2 months)

Here are the ones that grew naturally, you get a large main cola but the rest of the buds are maybe 1/2 to 1/3 the size of it.

Here are some babies that were LST, notice how much more even the canopy is and it will fill with many equal sized colas

Here is a plant growing naturally, which I believe produces much less. sorry I don't have better pics of it but I think you get the idea

Thanks for clearing that up ^ like I said I've never grown outdoors. But remember he's going to veg a lot longer then 1.5 months putting it outside in April. What were your roots like in those 5 gallon buckets?
