DC's First Indoor Multi-Strain

Day 30
Woke up excited this morning so I spent 20 minutes sinking a few garden ties and starting some training on hash plant and TO. Super hard to say it's not placebo effect if you will but I swear they grew more over night than they did all week! Very pumped for this week under the Tsw 2000 and with the Calmag added into my nute lineup. I think all plants were low on Calcium or magnesium, TO 1 showed it for sure and newer fans were starting to look an uncomfortable light green almost hints of yellow throughout. I also may have locked them out with a nute overdose prior to the flush this week so I'm looking forward to getting a full feed in and get some nitrogen in them.

I don't understand the measurements of lux aside from they are a measurement of brightness. I downloaded a phone app and it seemed to top out at 31500 at the canopy. I think the app wouldn't go any higher though because I moved it close to the light but couldn't break through 31500. No idea if that's good or not though lol got some research to do.

Oh also! What's the deal with the wispy weird looking growth on the blue dream!? Is this a genetic thing or has it just been sad for awhile and trying to tell me something? It's the first pic in previous post. You can really see the yellowing "veins" on that girl which I've chalked up to Calmag deficiency.

Hi DeeCee, you might want more cal and mag under led grow lights for plants' healthy growing! Sorry not mentioned it earlier. :green_heart: By the way, for the lumen, it is mainly for humen, not for plants. The traditional blurple led grow lights are not very bright, lumen output is less as well, but they can still do great job for plants, because they put out enough PPFD for plants. And this is more important for plants growing.
BTW, our TSW 2000 should be around 150lumen/w. So it is pretty good info as well. :D

Thanks @SmokeSara!
My blue dream sativa dominant I think got hit by the deficiency the worst but I think it's coming around.

Day 31
Did some training and fed to runoff tonight.
Here's what I'm feeding per gallon:
Micro - 4ml
Grow - 5ml
Bloom - 1ml
Calmag - 4ml
B52 - 4ml

Im a little gunshy now to let them dry out I'm not sure the whole real dry cycle applies as much to soil-less as much as soil grows and trying to get some nutrients and Calmag into them sooner rather than later.

While doing some light bending a fan leaf branch broke on my blue dream plant! While attempting to tape the little guy up it broke clean off. It was right at the elbow so very difficult. I prolly should've just left it alone and it may have healed oh well! I'm gonna leave it alone for now until it beefs up a bit.

I know everyone says to let the pots dry right out. Until they are very light. IMO that is too much. I water when the top inch of soil has become dry. I find with soil less mixes that is the sweet spot.
Hi HippyCanuck, I'd agree with you when they are in flower mode and they have grown their roots. No need to wait to water. But in veg, the wait between waterings keeps them growing roots searching for water. :green_heart: Bigger roots , bigger shoots.

I hope it was from thirst in which case they got lots of water today. The lights have been at 20"... It's been lower than that before I actually raised them to try to promote some stretch.

I thought the same, a thorough inspection I couldn't find anything but we'll see. Could it be from spilling nute water on it?
Hi DeeCee, nice work. Sometimes when watering the wet/dry cycle it's easy to go too dry. I do it and know better. The curl can be a sign of a underwater condition's been going on for a while. I still don't agree with the finger method of checking though :p . You'll bring them around. Enjoyed the journal. Thanks.

Happy weekend DeeCee, next week when i come back, guess the plants will be bigger :D

I sure hope so! It was alot easier in the summer when I threw 4 clones in the ground and next thing I know a couple months later they are blooming lol!

Thats fine. You dont have to agree. But I definitely think I will keep to my methods over yours.. just sayin... lol

Okay lots has happened! I posted in Mr @InTheShed log for some help and got lots of it! The girls got a good bathtub flush of 6 to 8 gallons of tap water followed by a couple litres of 1/2 strength nutes. Both TO Cookies seem to be thriving afterwards and I've been training them. The Blue Dream was a lot worse off and is working its way to recovery and showing good signs. She seems to be much more sensitive. I dropped the Lettuce head like Hash Plant off to my buddy last night. It's squat and thick stature will be perfect for his little tent.
Every variable has been adjusted for success!

New light set to 24/0 and at 22 to 24"
Stable 24 celsius temp and 40-50RH
2 small circulation fans pointing down to help the plants dry out and keep air moving
1 12" fan outside the tent pushing fresh air in
Calmag added at 2.5ml per gallon. Cutout B52

Nutrients will be added back in next full watering at the mid veg strength again. I looked back at my notes and I believe the root of all evil was one night I accidentally doubled the dose by doing the math per litre instead of per 2L (or half a gallon) since I use a 2L jug combined with overwatering practices. I switched to a 1 gallon watering can to remove any math lol! I won't water now until they fully dry out. If on the 5th day without water they aren't fully dried ill lightly water the surface just to get me through until the bottom dries out.

Per Gallon:
4ml Micro
5ml Grow
1ml Bloom
2.5ml Calimagic

Day 36
I'm very happy with the growth, every morning and every night I check on them and see a good inch of growth on each stem on both TO Cookies. I have been adjusting my ties and anchors twice a day as they grow. Blue dream is on her way as well. I'm thinking of plucking those two massive Calmag deficiency scarred fan leaves on her soon to open her up.

Noticed the TO Cookies plants looking droopy tonight so I watered VERY lightly! Im thinking they are feeling like I'll be on track for a full watering tomorrow or might push it to Sunday. With all my fans going there is much better air flow so the bottoms of the pots are not feeling as wet as they were before getting the fans going. Lesson #40 learned - air circulation is important for all stages of growth.

Looks fine from my house. I hate looking at ugly leaves too. Good to see them growing well.

Day 37

What a productive day! After a long stressful week I got the kids in bed tonight, the wife fell asleep early and I got to spend a couple hours in the garden. A few beers and a couple joints in and I got a lot done. Unbound all of the plants and got a good solid feed in back at full mid veg schedule nutes. 4ml Micro, 5ml Grow, 1ml Bloom and 3ml Calmag per gallon. All three were thirsty and took a gallon each! After a nice slow and even feed focusing on the outer diameter of the pot I set each plant aside and got to training. I studied each of them and planned the direction and height of each node. I originally planned to quadline them but I couldn't bring myself to chop the first node after topping after the fourth so Blue Dream and TO #1 both have 6 branches each instead of only 4. My strategy is to train each branch in a separate direction trying to evenly space all 6 outward. I'm not actually sure if I'm doing it right or if my plan makes sense but there's only one way to find out! I'm thinking once I have all the branches evened out and out to the edges of the pot I'll flip to flower and let them grow vertically. That's how it works...right? lol! The plan is starting to look good now that they are all getting longer and evening out anyway. TO # 2 I wanted to try going even one node higher so she has 4 node pairs. You can tell the difference between the two already as she is the taller but her node branches are thinner. I'm guessing this is because she's spent more time growing vertically and with an apical stem.

TO Cookies # 1
The biggest girl of the two TO Cookies I even went so far as to bend the main stem down. She stretched a lot between the 2nd and 3rd nodes so this will help the rest of them catch up to the top in height. I actually picked this up from surfing around and stumbling on one of @Alafornia 's journals where he was learning it and took a main stem down to almost 90 degrees.
