DC's First Indoor Multi-Strain

You may have answered your own question brother!!

they may also be getting to big for their pots as well. I’d say give them another week, if not a bit longer in them.

I am becoming one with my plants.

Day 20
Fed them last night after finding fairly dry pots. I messed up my nute mixture because I was pretty tired from a tough week at work. Nute solution was mixed for 3l when I only had 2.3l or so, not the end of the world I only lightly fed and then followed up right away with plain water to runoff then added some water to the remaining mix to water it down.

This morning I found them looking a little sad. I think newbie mistake #3 (or 4 or 5 but whose counting?!) might have been to have my clip on fan a little strong / too direct. My intention was to help strengthen the wee stems but the leaves are a little dry and crispy and new growth is kind of bumpy looking, like kind of wrinkly looking.. I can't find the right word for it. I'm thinking might be from wind burn combined with the extra heat I put them through from the space heater. I moved the fan up and pointed it off of them. They will be hardy girls anyway!

I checked the bottoms of the pots and I may have a little issue come transplant. The roots are starting to grow through the jiffy pots. On one hand I'm happy as it looks like the roots are all growing well. On the other hand it may make transplanting a bitch if the roots are grown into the pot and may get torn when I separate them. I did find one guy on the internet throwing his plants jiffy pot and all right into the next pot size, which I would do if it were tomatoes or any other vegetables but not sure here, I don't want to impede the roots. I may transplant tomorrow as I'll be busy next week. I think I'll try putting the pot in on the slower extra TO Cookies to see how it works. This is why I have 4 so I can experiment and make mistakes and still have plenty of plant to continue on! I think this poor girl is going to be my research specimen on this grow to try and practice techniques.

Anyone have a transplant protocol they want to share? Wet, dry? Pre water next pot with nutes, or just lightly water around root zone with plain water? cut root ball or leave it alone? I've seen a bunch of ideas I may try a few of them.

Anyways enjoy your weekend everyone! I'm heading into the city tonight on a party bus for a friend's 30th. I'm getting too old for this and I still havnt really learned how to throttle back once I get going and since I'm not in my 20s anymore hangovers are killing me! But have to troop it out as it's my girlfriends best friend. Wish me luck lol.

Mission accomplished. Went pretty well, I lost some roots to the bottom of the cup but glad I did it today or it would've been worse. I noticed some fuzz on the blue dream roots.. Not sure if that's normal or some type of bacteria growing.

Lol I check on my plants, as soon as I get home from work, and a few times between then, and before I even think about bed time. Then I check on them again before bed time.. and shut my veg box, and maker sure my window is still blacked out, close the door lol it’s all part of my every day ritual now.. now on my days off.. if it weren’t for my daughter I’d be taking naps in my tent I check on them so much! Lol

yeah do it up! I look forward to what you can find your self! @Wallanaise the Haze said the same thing, I was amazed at what he found. I’m actually quite jealous

Thanks for the tag @Backlipslide

Just posted this picture in my own journal but for those who arent following, heres my gnome in all his glory (ive named him Herbie)

Day 23
I followed up the initial light transplant feeding with a full plain water to runoff throughout the day yesterday to ensure I saturated the entire bags with a focus on the outer edge. I will now wait until they dry out with only a light top watering if it takes too long and then hopefully settle into a new wet dry cycle. The hash plant lower growth tips are starting to get bushy. They seem to be curled in, nothing too out of the ordinary I think but something to keep an eye on. I wish they would spread out and gain some height for me so everything isn't so clustered and compact. Lights are up at 24" since transplant to encourage a bit of stretch and reduce intensity until they are recovered from moving day. That's my theory anyway!

Now that I'm watering 5g bags I'm really going to have to go out and find a larger container than my 2L Brita jug or my watering nights will take forever! Maybe a 5g home depot pail for mixing. My only worry is having extra solution leftover and the kids getting to it so I'll have to also find a safe place for it out of reach.

Depending on how well of drainage you have, I can get away with one gallon per plant. I’ve only got three going so, you may just need to mix in a 5 gal, and disperse the 5g between the 4 plants. Wouldn’t hurt to give a lil more then 1G5, per plant

Yeah sounds about right, I should have great drainage in the Promix and fabric bags.

Topped the hash plant and TO Cookies 1 last night just above the 4th node, pinched the growth tip off. Hope I did it right it was the first time topping! Blue dream is a little behind as always so I'll wait till the 4th set of leaves grow out a bit and the node is more prominent. Soil still feels pretty moist. Not much showing for vertical growth since transplant. All the plants are growing out at the nodes now and are getting pretty bushy. I'm thinking of trimming them up this weekend to encourage them to grow out more as these tips once the plants are grown won't see any light. Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks @Backlipslide
Do you think I should clear out the growth as well to redirect energy to parts that will be productive? I know some guides on quadlining and topping suggest taking out the 1rst and 3rd set of leaves and growth tips or some variation or should I leave them be for a bit? Sorry for blurple pics I'll get some better ones soon.

Do explain hippy. He’s training the plant, to grow horizontally rather then vertically for the time being. Once the plant is to the desired width he will flip/grow vertical.

if he did not top, and start training, the plant will not stop growing vertically, and will out grow their environment in no time.

I grow using the same nutrients as him. With a 3x3 tent and a couple LEDs that he has there is no way 4 plants quadlined will fit . I have a 5x5 and a 1000 watt hps. I flower 2 at a time. When you train a plant, the footprint from the light needs to be bigger because the plant takes up more horizontal room. There is absolutely no way 4 plants will fit on a 3x3 or have enough light. Maybe one plant. He is already behind my schedule and to train my plants for a quadline you need 40 days or so. Hes going to be at 45 or more. Thats is going to be 4 big plants. The plant in the pic was a 42 day veg. Its as big as my dishwasher.
