DC's First Indoor Multi-Strain

TO Cookies #2
Like I said this girl is one node higher than the other two. The electrical tape is a bandaid for a fan leaf stem I half broke. I have the stem bent over on her and branches spreading out from every angle although thinner than her sisters. She is still droopy today, I think she might just be thirstier than the other two and need to be watered a day or so earlier.

Blue Dream
Blue is the one I'm most excited to try being a more sativa leaning and lighter high. She is also the biggest diva. She was not at all happy with my learning curve mistakes so far but has really picked up the pace in the last couple days since fixing the living conditions! Her growth is much thinner and almost scraggly looking when it starts out but I think that's just the genetics in her. I half broke one of the top nodes training the other day. I tried to give it a little go today but had to back off. It's still only half hanging on and right at the knuckle so I couldn't get tape on it. I've secured it upright with a garden tie. Once the branch grows a little longer I'll pull it down further along the branch and leave the tie on for support at the break. Her nodes are tightly spaced so her canopy is already almost level between the 6 nodes. I couldn't handle the giant leaves with the brown spots anymore so she got a 4 big and 2 smaller fan leaf trim as well. They were basically laying flat on the soil, blocking new growth out and sucking up energy. I hope she thanks me for it instead of stalling as she gets upset easily.

So far I am very happy with the Mars TSW2000. It seems extremely bright, the colour of light is much better looking for pictures and just being around than the blurple light as well. The plants are constantly reaching up at it after I tie them down 10 hours later they are upright and growing. It easily covers each inch of my 3x3. The drivers run pretty hot but otherwise I really like it @SmokeSara.

Temps have been steady at around 23 degrees and RH 40-50%. I've had a 12" fan on low outside the tent blowing air in a lower opening and 1 6" fan and 1 4" fan blowing down on them from about 26" up. I also turned on my exhaust fan with the filter off so the tent is getting a ton of fresh air. I'm also thinking that it has helped the pots dry out faster. I think that was one of my issues - not enough air coming in and the plants were not big enough so they were exhibiting overwatering when the pots were staying wet for so long.

I love how relaxing it is being around these plants, especially in the start of a Canadian winter. I've always loved having a big vegetable garden every summer and hanging out and working in it, now I get to do it in the winter too!

Whew...that was a lot more than I expected to be posting up, this OG Kush I grew outdoor this summer is good shit!

Ps I dont mean to spam with multiple posts I havn't figured out how to embed pics and still be able to have writing after them instead of them just posted to the bottom of the post altogether!

Thanks DeeCee112 for the kind update and feedback on the TS series. For the temperature of the driver, please don't worry, as the light is high wattage, the driver run hot is normal, the old lights driver also run hot, but with the light case design, you cannot feel it. :Namaste: Anyway, we are working on the upgraded TS series to make extention cords on the item so that you can move the driver out and help with the heat. :green_heart: Currently not available yet, but guess should be in several months. :circle-of-love:

No worries I actually need the heat in my tent being that it's in the basement in Canada in winter right now!

Yes sir, it has been a very cold fall, here in Alberta!! The heat helps battle our cold environment. Your plants are looking good man!

I also enjoy putting my daughter to bed and then spending time with my plants. I agree it’s nice to have a garden to take care of in the winter.

with the training, I always top above the fifth internode. Remove the bottom two, leaving three internodes one tact. I train them out to the outter edge of my pot, then let them start growing vertically from there.

Will be harvested this weekend I’m thinking.

the reason I leave 6 nodes in tact, is because sometimes the bottom nodes make it to the top canopy of the plant, with the rest. If they don’t, When I lollipop the plants after going into flower. I remove the bottom Node (if it doesn’t make it to the top) so sometimes I end up with 6, sometimes I end up with 5, and sometimes I end up with 4.

and now for the question about photos.

I just click on the icon that’s circled in the photo. Click my photo, then it uploads in the text box, and that’s that. I don’t do anything else. At the bottom of the text box, itgives you the option for thumbnail or full image. Click on full image rather then thumbnail. You see, I don’t click any of them and it appears the way it does above. Maybe for you, click full image rather then thumbnail, and see if that helps.

Now, there is another way to upload images. In the photo above (two photos up) the icon that has a square around it, is the other option. But you need to upload your photos to the photo gallery to be able to post them that way first. Doing it that way, your not limited to the ten photos your aloud normally.

I can show you how, but I’m another post because I’m already getting to that tenth photo. Posting them in the gallery, is how you enter photos into the contests as well. Let me know if you want me to explain how to post in the photo gallery as well. I can dig up some photos for you on the how to.

Yeah from here on I'll be going a node higher before topping as well. I chopped the bottom node but even the 2nd node is annoyingly low when it comes to watering. I originally planned to chop it as well and follow the quadline 3rd and 4th node plan but couldn't bring myself to lmao

Photoshoot tonight. I'm really enjoying this now that they are growing so well! I've been heavily training them all, adjusting the tie downs every morning and night and the canopies are getting close to even and close to the edges of the pots. The Blue Dream is more delicate and I cracked another stem a bit again at the knuckle! I need to remember to go easier on her, I think I'll leave her alone for a few days to a week. Both TO Cookie plants still look a little droopy, more so TO2 but they seem to always look that way! Maybe I'll take it a little easier on the training soon. I'm about to let them go vertical anyway. Some leftover light brown spots on some of the bigger fan leaves. The cookie girls are Calmag divas!

Shout out to my boy @Backlipslide for teaching me. How to embed pics through the post so I don't need to post 30 times to separate them!

Lots of new growth today and the canopy is getting close to even!

I think I noticed more light brown spots than before but hard to tell, its likely just existing ones from before I added the calmag. For future reference though is this the sign of calcium or magnesium deficiency or even something else? I also noticed some clawed tips on some newer growth. Still might need to back off a touch on the nutes to reduce nitrogen, they at least don't seem to be slowed by it at any rate.

How high is your light from the canopy? Your plants almost look to be working away from the light..

yes it looks like you have a bit of nute burn, but no worries, now you know where their limit is.

the claw, almost looks like it’s a sign of being too wet.. but it could also be because of the light, making the overal plant in general work away from the light it’s self. :hmmmm:

Yes. Part of it almost looks like water droplets were left on the plant, and burned the plant, but it definitely looks like a calcium def.

This is a Magnesium def.

and this is aCalcium deficiency.

they show different stresses.

I've definitely left water on them a few times, because I topped so low it's almost impossible not to. Lesson learned for next run! Thanks for the links bro

Light is around 22 inches up. I thought that as well a few times and still not sure. I've had it up to 24 inches away and those two cookie plants always look like that. The growth tips are always growing up though and facing the light when I check on them and my pics are always after tying them back down. I also do alot of tucking on the fan leaves which may make them look like they are facing down. The Blue Dream is always perkier though but it is a little shorter. I'll crank the light up another couple inches and see what it does to test out the theory.

Day 41!
Take a look at this @Backlipslide they are closer pics of them fresh in the morning before readjusting any ties. You can clearly see the difference in the Cookie strains vs the Blue Dream though. The Blue Dream looks significantly more springy and up looking. The Cookie plants have almost always looked that way though almost like the fan leaves they make are just heavier looking lol. The new growth near the top seems to still be reaching up, what do you think? I didn't move the light yet still on the fence. It's funny how counter intuitive it feels to lower nutrients or raise lights or do anything that normally feels like you're stepping off the gas. Growing is a great form to learn patience and moderation lol! The top couple inches of medium are nice and dry, it's been 3 or 4 days since last water, I can't remember. I might lightly water with tap water on the outer tops tonight to get me a few more days til the pot is fully dry and then a 3/4 dose full nute water.

Also thinking about defoliating a bit this weekend, the two Cookie plants are getting bushy and there's some pretty big giant scarred fans that could go to open things up a bit.

For me personally, the plants are telling me that they’re too close to the light source. I would raise the light to 30” above the top canopy. Then in flower, maybe lower to the 2 foot mark.

and for the feeding, I’d be feeding with nutrients every time. Keep a 5 day time frame between feedings. You say about 4 days since last feeding, give it that extra day to help create a nice dry cycle.

@Backlipslide I think you are right bro I've just been trying to convince myself otherwise based on thinking they'll slow down but this light is powerful! Tonight it goes up! I do always feed every watering but per Em's post about watering if on the 4th day I'm not fully dry dry down to the bottom, I top water lightly with a splash of water. I will be backing off the micro and grow a bit to reduce the nitrogen to try to reduce the clawing though.

@HippyCanuck I have a 4" inline exhaust fan with a carbon filter running full tilt up top and 2 4" clip on fans blowing just above the canopy kitty corner to eachother. Both bottom pockets are wide open and you can feel the air pulling in. Air circulation shouldn't be an issue. I could easily get away with watering earlier as the top couple inches is dry but I'm trying out this famous wet/dry cycle technique where you push the dry part to encourage root growth I'm veg and then switch to more frequent waterings in bloom. Well see how it goes.

Aside from this they seem to be growing quite well, especially the TO girls.. Although I don't have any experience to benchmark it from - if they grew faster than they are currently.. Well that would be cool too lol

Light is up to 28" we will see if they look better over the next day or two if not I'll go higher!

Fan leaves are sprouting left right and center, I couldn't see through any of them and they were rubbing so I defoliated each plant lightly about 6 to 10 leaves each. Mostly just oversized damaged fan leaves. Readjusted a few ties and off to bed! They are pretty darn droopy I will probably water tomorrow morning if I wake up early enough, if not definitely tomorrow night. None of the pics I took turned out good so just an update tonight.

Things are looking bleak again! They seemed to have made a turn for the worse over night. I'm not sure what changed as they were fed like 5 days ago and have seemed fine and been growing well up until now. Super confused as there seems to be a barrage of symptoms across the three. What looks like calcium, magnesium deficiencies, even saw a few pics that look like potassium deficiency. Some of the growth tips stems I noticed were a red almost purple which I think is new.. Nitrogen toxicity and the usual droopiness. Leaves are twisting and doing strange things again lol. They were bone dry and pots very light. They actually soaked up more water than I've ever had to give to see runoff at 4 gallons between them all. Nutrient dose was lowered to 3/4 strength with Calmag at 1ml per Fallon higher ringing it to 4ml per gallon now. I PHd this feed to between 5.5 and 5.8 for the first time to see if that helps at all. Light was raised to 28" last night. Well see how they look in the next day or two... May need a light flush again idk lol.
