I don't recall anyone trying it with these. Backbuilding the buds doesn't necessarily improve yield as much as it builds a more cosmetically pleasing specimen. It was a technique developed to improve bag appeal by cultivating barrel-shaped buds, something the technique does very well. It never occurred to me to do that with a DDA because they grow those barrel-shaped buds anyway.
Now you guys have me thinking I need to try a Black Jack. Maybe a grow that's all Sweet Seeds. How appropriate. I think I might plan that one. "SweetSue's Sweet Seeds Extravaganza."
The bigger pot is a good idea. There are many who believe that a 3 gallon is the optimal for autos. I beg to differ. I don't believe mine would have gotten this big in a smaller pot. When I started with autos I made a decision to go with a minimum 7 gallon pot. I was establishing a no-till. With small exception that's turned out to be a good decision.
