Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

She's sweet smelling for sure, but not the sweetest. The Black Jack trumped them all for strongest sweetest smell. Killer kush a close second with a spicy undertone to the sweetness. Sweet seeds definitely nailed some quality aromas down. :D

Just a question......but is anybody doin any backbuilding on these beautiful dark girls? Just wondering....might help your harvest!? :volcano-smiley: beautiful plantssss people!

One of my Black Jack's smelled so bad, started from first set of leaves (if you sniffed her leaf it would smell exactly like a flower), she needed good odor control :laughtwo:

So you have a plant with three different parent groups for seed purposes and others of unknown origin? It sounds like they've been partying behind your back. Lol!

I've been meaning to write it all down :laughtwo:

Dark Devil, Devil Cream and Vertigo were all bagged and self pollinated. Up to that point everything is pure. The trouble arose when I put them back in veg tent and they continued to nanner. Now there is a chance (and I think it likely with Vertigo and DDA) that the three CS'd sisters pollinated each other. However, there would be a couple weeks between the controlled and uncontrolled pollination. It should be easy enough to identify based on maturity.. if they can even be pollinated a second time. Not sure about that. For now I see only seeds that correspond with the first pollination.

Kermit (Trans Siberian) actually got treated with pollen and a small paint brush :) Very controlled and precise the way I would normally do photo's. The seeds are forming at the brushed spots so I am confident of the origins where the clusters are forming. I'm not seeing any unexplained seed point either so I feel pretty good about that one.

Now the unexplained lol. Black Cream has a few seeds forming. She's never been stressed so my guess is nanner discharge from one or more of the three. Dark Devil, Devil Cream and/or Vertigo. The next is Red Poison. Which one day I swear I see seeds and the next day no. I did find at least three that are confirmed seeds. Same deal there. No stress short of a late over fert lol. So back to the CS Sisters as parents. Last but not least would be Bloody Skunk who has been at the far end of the tent. So far I see no seeds on her anywhere, but I will not be surprised if there are a few hiding. I'm pretty sure Devil Cream stayed pure, but there is a chance of a few crossed seeds. Good thing I'm not a real seed breeder huh? :loopy:

I'll be painting with some Sweet God and Scott's OG pollen soon also.. just waiting for an unsuspecting victim or two. Trouble is I keep looking at all these pics of everyone's beautiful plants and I already want to start another DDA lol.

God, I love your sense of humor. You had me rolling all the way through that. No wonder I follow you around. The air ducts are something of a tight squeeze, but you're worth it. :laughtwo:

Go ahead, start another DDA. You know you want to. Your specimen was one of our finest. Challenge yourself to outdo her. :battingeyelashes:

I haven't seen it being done yet. They put out some mighty round nugs already. My next move will probably be bigger pot and LST.. then maybe FIM and SCROG the next one. Maybe I'll try back building one as well. It's all about time and space in the caravan lol.

I don't recall anyone trying it with these. Backbuilding the buds doesn't necessarily improve yield as much as it builds a more cosmetically pleasing specimen. It was a technique developed to improve bag appeal by cultivating barrel-shaped buds, something the technique does very well. It never occurred to me to do that with a DDA because they grow those barrel-shaped buds anyway.

Now you guys have me thinking I need to try a Black Jack. Maybe a grow that's all Sweet Seeds. How appropriate. I think I might plan that one. "SweetSue's Sweet Seeds Extravaganza." :laughtwo:

The bigger pot is a good idea. There are many who believe that a 3 gallon is the optimal for autos. I beg to differ. I don't believe mine would have gotten this big in a smaller pot. When I started with autos I made a decision to go with a minimum 7 gallon pot. I was establishing a no-till. With small exception that's turned out to be a good decision.

:hugs: Ok lol. I'll start another just as soon as the rest of the auto crew finish up. Probably a few weeks. Black Cream might finish a little sooner. That one is really something. Much larger plant over all. Very purple :) Bloody Skunk is nice too, but definitely taking longer. So is Red Poison. I'll probably be cutting down the rest of the CS Sisters this weekend. I already smoked all of the sample from Devil Cream and I'm ready for more :laughtwo: DC is delicious! I hate to admit it.. and things are still curing, but I think I like the DC flavor better than the DD. It has a bit more of that green bud edge too.. though it's just as dark as Selina.

Do it! :)

Sweet Seeds is one of a few breeders that have held my attention for a while now. I'll be using five gallons for the next grow. That's what the BC, BS and RP are in and they are all bigger.

This is good to hear as I value your opinion. I still have some DD buds and 2 seeds, but it's good to know the whole line up is sweet!

Oooo..... A Red Poison. Yummy. We keep going like this we may need to rename this thread SweetSue's Sweet Seeds Community Grow. :laughtwo:

Get ready for that Red Poison.. I'm still trying to shake off the morning wake & bake. It's very reminiscent of Permafrost. Almost the same flavor but slightly smoother with.. with.. well red flavor :laughtwo: Pretty stoney shit :) and that was just a small sample. I pulled three seeds out of it that are ready, but I'm leaving the rest of the plant for another week at least. Still waiting for pistil production to stop or slow. It could easily be harvested now though. No lack of effect.. and damn it's been long. Went kayaking yesterday and it seems to be helping with some of the soreness too. She might be a five crystal ball rating when she's done.
