Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

I noticed the pistil yesterday on day 17. She's in a hurry to grow up!

Her sister is starting to look like she works for the highway department with the safety green color going on...Shes been that way from the start. She's growing like a weed and the upper leaves are upright and look healthy. Roots are a beautiful white color. I'm getting excited to see what happens with this one.

Anybody had one this color?

Have a good weekend everyone...

Think you've got the DDA x Poinsettia cross. :Rasta:

Here’s a quick update. Plants are 12 days old. One has a light green/yellow color. Been that way since day 1. Green pheno? Both plants are growing well and have healthy white roots in the res.

About time for a res change. I'll probably mix it up tonight and let it come to room temp..

Happy Easter Everyone!

I don’t know hydro, so I don’t have any idea how you’d adjust that light green, but interestingly the cross of DDA and Carnival named Devil’s Carnival always expresses that color through most of the veg cycle before going to darker tones as you get closer to flowering.

As long as the roots look good and she keeps growing I wouldn’t be concerned.

Not sure how many days to consider my DDA has been growing, but will say it's been around 2 months since sprouting. At 24 inches tall now, she's done stretching i think and is surrounded at the top now by the lights. we'll see how she progresses from here... hope there's enough light but there's no room in the other tent if I wanted to move and share anyway and no more lights around right now that I could use if I needed them. the Golden tiger clone in the corner is starting to crank now too and even auto Gelato in back left seems to have perked up in the last 48 hours and growing faster now. Most of the other plants will go outside soon... warm southern weather is now here all the time.

I guess the stretch wasn't over after all. she's now at 28" and may finally be almost done growing up... time to get fat! been upping the mega crop and around 6g now, maybe a little less.

Edit: after comparing from last week, she's filling in nicely it appears.

The leaves are super dark green, more than the Golden tiger clone which is his become a monster if I don't do something to slow her down.

Gosh..... She sure is pretty. :circle-of-love:

They're all lovely, but you understand the preference. Lol! I love watching them fill in from this point. :green_heart:

Beautiful flowers you have there VG. :woohoo:
:circle-of-love:
Thank you dynamo.
The smell is really strong rotten fruit.
Won't be long now.:yummy:

A few cruddy leaves but nothing major. They are pluggin right along.

Oops, forgot to post it here but I took down my DDA about 3 weeks ago. She was 82 days old. I didn't get a lot off of her, 192 grams wet, but I am not disappointed. She was fun to watch. So different! :Rasta:

I want to drop my DDA but there is a full moon on the 9th. So I may wait a few days. Was wondering if I should soak it on the 7th, plant on the 8th and let er rip or just plant it on the 9th? Anyone here plant according to lunar phases??

It has been a long time since I paid attention to the moon other than whether it'll be easier to get around in the woods at night (and whether I'll have extra "luck" whilst playing Nethack and/or Slash'em on my computer ;) ), so it is possible that I am misremembering. But I think I was told once, by a woman who paid attention to such things, that seeds of flowering plants should be planted before the full moon. In other words, while it is in its waxing phase and the time of the full moon is still approaching.

Again, my memory could be faulty. The mind has enough holes in it to figuratively look like a freshly-bombed runway, lol.

@Virgin Ground :drool: lovely work!

that seeds of flowering plants

I’m a moon gardener :hippy: I’m not obsessive about the details but I aim to work in alignment where possible. All my reading tells me that I can classify cannabis as a herb which is usually aligned with ‘leafy greens’ in moon lore that i have seen. Those are best planted during a new moon, ideally in the most fertile signs (Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio) or a semi-fertile sign (earth signs i think). The sign part is a detail, a nuance, the new moon is the main thing, and the first 7 days ideally (for leafy annuals/herbs).

I think the second qtr to full moon you mention is definitely the second best window :)

We’re in that planting zone right now in fact. A few days ago was a good 2 day window and tonight at about 3am my time (AEST) the still new moon moves into cancer. I have seeds soaking as I type, including a DDA :ganjamon:

I went away and looked at my trusty ‘Moon Planting Guide’ wallchart ;) and it describes the plants for the second window in this section I snapped a pic of below.

So yes, I think cannabis *could also be in the second category, seeing as it’s the seed bearing part we harvest. It is still an herb though, not a fruit, so it is partly in both camps really. I have good success with the 1st quarter phase. :)

The note in the middle is interesting - that ‘oil seeds’ producing plants are part of the group they say can do well in either qtr and cannabis sativa could arguably be placed in that category as well.

I have definitley planted in the second qtr in the past, because timing in life is not always perfect. I would avoid at all costs, howeve, planting during the waning or dark moon periods. It goes for pruning and weeding too. If i want lots of new growth I don’t prune during the waning or dark moon.

All that said - I see a multitude of people growing lush and productive gardens without even thinking about the moon so... there‘s that. :D

The middle section says oilseed producers and annual flowers. Cannabis is most definitely an annual flower. Maybe that’s why it grows so freakin well all the time?? Cause it doesn’t even matter when you plant it, the moon is in its favor. It really is the jack-of-all-trades plant.

Doesn’t matter when during the waxing phase :thumb: (That section only refers to the 2weeks of 1st and 2nd qtr).

It will grow when planted anytime for sure, but I’d wager a more vigorous plant when planted during a waxing moon, over planted during a waning moon :)
It’s completely impossible to test. All seeds are different, even s1s.
