STS does suppress ethylene production, causing male flowers. I have read that too much of it can cause that, or the production of "low quality" pollen. But I didn't keep any notes, so I cannot recommend specific actions.

CS does seem to be more... forgiving(?) in that regard. I just assumed that it was milder in its action, so to speak.

Named my DDA Darla and today she got topped. She is 12 days old today. Can't wait to see which pheno she is.

Silently watching all you amazing growers made me get her. Thanks y'all.

Awesome! Now you just need to add that (link) to your .SIG ("signature") so it will appear at the bottom of each of your posts here on the forum.

Yes they are @SweetSue im getting very excited now as theyre starting to frost up. Im guessing atleast another 3-4 weeks. Im also looking forward to being able to see the different effects of the green vs. Purple buds side by side.
 
If Darla is a Dark Devil auto plant wait till the 5th node is full and the 6th node is starting. At that point with sterilized, sharp scissors top the plant below the 5th node. The needs to be done prior to the plant starting to flower.

She hit the fourth node and I topped down to the third. She is super healthy so I figured why wait just to toss it.

What do you think should I take off the first node also?

I don't top autos, and can hold my own when it comes to plant and harvest size in dwc. This grow in ProMix is convincing me I am correct in my method.
 
My third or fourth post back in 2009 was probably "Why the <BLEEP> do people throw away part of their plants?"

I'll go out on a limb and say, it's the same reason people harvest a DDA at 65-70 days. :rofl:
