Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

Man i got a tangie'matic auto that im guna cross with some old dda pollen i have. What im wondering is how long can u store it? I put it all in a old black film canister and into the fridge after i dried it out for 2 to 3 days and its been in there for about 3 to 4 months u think it will still be good?

If kept cool (preferably with stable temperature), dry, and dark, it ought to last for a couple of years. Probably longer, with the same slow reduction in viability that one would expect from seeds.

Be careful when removing it from storage for use that "sweating" (as it'll presumably be cooler than ambient at that point) does not cause it to become damp. And be sure not to contaminate it, of course.

Have you cut it with flour (et cetera)? One tiny little pinch could, in theory, produce hundreds, maybe thousands of seeds - if it doesn't all end up on just a few female flowers, lol.

Your post... Once again, I find myself lamenting the general illegality of cannabis. If it was treated the same way that other garden (etc.) plants were, I'd be asking if you might trade some of that DDA pollen for... IDK... pepper seeds or the like. Alas, it is not to be, this year. Therefore, please make sure to store some for as long as possible ;) .

Maybe next year - or the next, or...

Hey i notice u mentioned about using flour to make the pollen stretch how much should i use cuz if i can make this pollen stretch i would love to be able 2 do it cuz i wana add the dark d to a couple of my strains specially the cross im working on its a cross a of black domina and hindu kush skunk so some purple berries from the dark devil i had would be a great addition imo lol

50 to a 100 to 1 and toast your flour:Namaste:

:thumb:I'm happy it looks like success on my DDA seed project,:yahoo: perseverance furthers. :slide: DDA update, Far right the next in line #5 is reaching for the QB, the pot was to big for the T5. Far left is the oldest, purple pheno girl/boy that has pollinated the middle DDA #3 heavily. Second to the left is the green pheno girl/almost boy. (a little more to go) Second to the right #4 is going to get both pheno's, it has a beautiful subtle purple I'm hoping will develop.:Namaste:

I stopped using flour, just rice
The flour seemed to lesson the pollination process, I think it dilutes it too much. I have a DDA x GDP I only got 9 seeds from, and like 200 with the ACDC, I blame the flour

:thanks:Thanks Scorpio, I was just repeating what I had read on 420 and will update my info, I am just at the saving pollen time. What ratio of rice to pollen do you prefer?:Namaste:

I have some acrylic test tubes like 3" long
I'll just add about 20 or so rice grains. They will suck up moisture when in the freezer
Works really well

The pollen will fall off the rice when yer ready to use it, so it's a win win

Edit
I don't fill the test tubes by any means, with pollen
Maybe 1/2t or so in each one

So flour is no good? I keep rice with my seeds but never thought of using rice with pollen...
I'm not a fan of flour anymore

My opinion

I will probably use rice now. It makes more sense to me. Thanks ChrisS!

Hey does anyone know if I can use Colloidal Silver to make fem seeds from an already feminized plant? I have a Black Dog that I love and it seems much different that a lot of other BDs that other people grow. I clone the hell out of it but I would love some seeds if they would grow like the girl I have now.
Have a good day everyone!

Cheers,

If your plant is femanised then all her offspring (seeds) will also be female as there is no male involved. So it's all girly parts!!! You should be ship shape & ready to rock and roll buddddyyyy!! :theband:

I do wonder... If the original seeds were produced by the same method (in general), then that'd be TWO generations produced by selfing. How much "less" will those offspring be than the hypothetical parent of their parent?

I don't usually think about this. Most strains being crosses of some sort or another, my default assumption is that the seeds that come from seedbanks are produced with two parental plants, even if they were both female (requiring a reversal). BUT... That presupposes that the breeder isn't taking a cutting off of a mother (that was an actual cross of two parental plants), rooting it, and then spraying a portion and allowing it to "go <BLEEP> itself." And that might actually be happening, now that I think about it. Actually, multiple clones would be more likely, methinks. Still, if they're all clones of one parent - and it is the same parent - then the same thing would seem to apply.

Always best to cross unrelated plants when creating seeds. Just like with people . First cousins secretly(?) breed, have a child... It probably fits within the norm. If that person then breeds with a first cousin, well... Schizophrenics, serial killers, bearded women, and generally creepy individuals have to come from somewhere. Look at European royal families throughout the last couple millennia.
