Creating Female Seeds Using Colloidal Silver - With High Brix

Hey Unforgiven. Not sure if that's a converted girl or not. Are you seeing any pistils? My girls don't usually have pistils where the buds would be but I spray small clones so maybe that has something to do with it. They did have preflowers though before I started spraying. I went with a lighter solution this time and sprayed for only 15 days this time and one of my clones is mixed with flowers and nanners.

Quick update on my girls. Seems like the lighter solution and shorter spay period really helped. :slide: This is the first that nanners popped on their own. Pollen is coming out of every node on BG3. She/he was at day 27 flower cycle. I sprayed the entire clone a day before flip and 2 days into flower. I then lighly squirted (or spritz as an old member put it) at the new bud sites for the other 12 days and stopped spraying once the male flowers were showing.

At first I thought the nanners were dying off without opening as they were turning yellow. But this morning pollen was all over the leaves. Just wasn't use to seeing that. I put a q tip on them and others would pop open and release pollen. :thumb: Pretty stoked as its usually a struggle for me to get a little bit of pollen the past 3 tries with AK being the exception. BG2 is still not releasing pollen. She's the branchy pheno and took forever to show sex so I'm hoping another week and she'll release some. They are all a dark green color.

Just pollenated with a q tip on the recipients and will do another round in a week. They are also in the same tent with a fan on. Should have a ton of seeds :) On a side note I got me a used mini fridge so well test storing pollen and try on my next round of girls in a few months to see if that turns out.

hey smiles, thanks for the thoughts.

it was your pic of bg3 above that had me figgering this worked.

is that bg3 in your last post? the one with pollen falling all over?

if so, mine might just be ok. idunno. I started spraying pretty early, trying to ensure it worked lol.

should have left some of the plant alone I guess, just to be sure I could id it.

whats the worst case scenario? I end up with regular seeds right? not what I want really.

trouble is, the more I look at it the more I see a male.

I've got some of the pollen I used in my last run in the fridge too. By the time I get to it, it should be almost 6 months old. But I intend on dusting a branch or two just to check it's viability...a few nice beans as a result wouldn't be a bad thing.

heh supposed to be for sure fem.

only reason I question it at all, is that I had a boy in the bunch, which I pulled out.

now his development looked different from this girl.

what bugs me though is that I didn't have any of the ugliness from using the silver on her. matter o fact she was and is healthy all the way.

well wish me luck, I think I will run with this girl anyways.

thanks again

Don't be fooled :) They don't always show the ugly. I'm not sure if it's strain dependent, ppm of CS, length of treatment, or something else altogether, but be sure and tag that branch. Also keep a close eye on the whole plant. Even well after you cut the treated branch off.

there is the exact problem, lol. I was spraying the whole plant, so there is no other point of reference.

she got soaked 1-2 times everyday and loved it.

So much for branch tagging :laughtwo:

Yeah, just let her rip :) She'll go eventually. I haven't met a plant yet that can't be stressed into action lol. Did you know that the act of seeding in itself is stressful enough to trigger male flowers? It's true for some strains/pheno's. Typically it occurs at the base of the bud and often goes unseen. They sneak in before age nanners do and are usually long dried up before harvest. I wouldn't say it's common but I've seen it a few times through the years.

Sending ya good pollen vibes! :high-five:

:byebye:

Here's a good example of male flowers generated by seeding stress. So far I have found two buds like this while harvesting seeds from Scott's OG. You can kind of see how they tend to occur near the areas that are seeding the heaviest.

well I think your good pollen vibes worked wonders....
here's what I was sent for having 1 male dta. I count 26 dta seeds, and a 5 pack of early miss fem.

freakin awesome from the unnamed company that works with crop king seeds. :cheertwo: :circle-of-love: :cheertwo:

:high-five: Awesome!

I like the Early Miss. Hoping to do another run and seed it in the fall. :)

I've worked with a few seed companies and problems DO happen. I can honestly say, though, I've had fantastic service from the ones I've used, each time replacing seeds in a VERY generous way. Good for you man. I hope you grow the hell out of'em.

That's awesome unforgiven. Glad they took care of you.

Update on my Bubble Gums. The branchy pheno (BG2) finally releasing some pollen at day 29 of flower cycle :slide: She's even got some seed pods going herself :)

I just finished doing a second round of pollinating with a qtip. That's it for them. Gonna freeze some pollen of both phenos and test them on my next grow later this year. Here's a pic of the moms the clones were taken from for this fem project. They are at day 50 of 12/12.

I noticed some of my pollen sacs are opening but there doesn't appear to be anything inside of them. Some green ones have even fallen off. Is this normal?

I need opinions. This was my last post above. I went on vacation and came back. For some strange reason my plant seems to have reverted back to female even though I sprayed 3 or 4 times after I noticed the pollen sacs. I examined her pretty good and I don't see any signs of seeds but I won't lie and say that I have any experience breeding. Let me know what you guys (gals) think.

^^^This is one of the top Kolas. Their small because I have them under a few CFL's.

I really don't know how to respond. She looks a little late to try to reverse her again, and I don't see any definitive pollen sacs. Also, if there were some pollinated bracts, more of the pistillate hairs would be retracted further. But I honestly know nothing about your strain nor autos, so don't make any drastic conclusions on my input. this fence is uncomfortable on my bony butt
