Creating Female Seeds Using Colloidal Silver - With High Brix

G'mornin' folks. Little update this morning. Not too much to share (or see rather) but the formation of seeds in the buds is becoming more obvious and you can even see the white sheath on many (read: most) of the seed pods.

These first pics are of the phenotype #3

The differences aren't only visual between these two. They have distinctly different terpene profiles too and the #2 is one of the most resinous plants I've ever grown. It makes trichomes early and often and these pics should help support the fact seeded plants are just as potent as unseeded. The biggest difference with seeded and unseeded is in mass, which is arguable if you add the mass of the seed crop. I plan on drying them on the plants and making hash with all the plant matter once the seeds are harvested.

2 weeks more to hit their 8 week flower mark (4-week pollination mark). The typical seed viability window is 30-45 days, so I'm shooting for 36.

Hey Ziggy! Happy 420! Sorry man I thought I had written something to sub to your thread before. Just to be sure i'm marking this :)
:passitleft:

Canad420, Welcome!! no worries, Happy belated 420 to you too.. :)
Very busy last few weeks. Just beginning to catch up with posts and online stuff.

Have a great day..

Good Sunday morning all. I'm coming into what should be the last week for these seed experiment plants. They are on the same schedule as their unseeded sisters and all are starting to fade (stupid small pots). They'll make it to the end, but if nothing else I've learned-through-doing some different issues which are presented from using them.

I snipped off a single seed calyx and it was covered with trichs. I peeled it open and there was good color. I crushed it and it had that moist, meaty inside so I'm jazzed.

Notice the tip top of this one starting to fade. It's also not got the mass I would typically see, but I knew that would be the case since I flowered both of the seeded plants with a single P300...lmao

...and one of the unseeded. It looks like it will benefit from perhaps longer than a week...but we'll see.

Looks great, Gov!

Great job Gov! :)
(+) reps!!

Just started with the silver thiosulfate.

Sodium thiosulfate(pentahydrate) 2.4g in 60ml distilled water
Silver nitrate 0.25g in 15 ml distilled water

Mixed together and added 150ml distilled water. This is a 1/4 batch from a recipe that heirloom gave me. It is more than plenty for one or two plants. I put the leftover working solution in the refrigerator.

I filled a small travel size sprayer and hosed down one of my high brix twisters. She looks fine this morning. She will get another spray in 1.5 weeks, and possibly another. 2 weeks is the effective length for STS shutting down ethylene and keeping the plant driving towards male. So I want to overlap that with more spray. The reverse twister will go into flower in my closet upstairs that has all my males (pineapple fields/Huck Kush/agent orange. But this time through is all about using a reverse twister to self another twister and to pollinate huck Kush, Pineapple fields, agent orange,Shangrila,Tutankhamon, and THC bomb.

The females will flip with my big grow one week after I flip the reverse twister. Then after reverse twister throws the pollen I will bring the girls to the closet for a few days. Then I will spray them down in the shower to wash the excess pollen away and bring the girls back down to the main room to finish their seeds.

A good point Shigg (props on your efforts too...looks good man). I tried to be diligent, but that pollen is untrustworthy...lol. I ended up with a few bean starts on one of the unpollinated Laniakeas I chopped a cpl weeks ago. No biggie for me, and it didn't ruin the produce, but unwanted pollination is ALWAYS a possibility when running a male.

My seed plants are getting really close. Today marks their 8th week of flower and ends their 4th weeks since pollination. I'm going to try to let them go another week if it looks like they can benefit from it. I'll nick another pod tomorrow to check progress...pics to follow.

How long after your first spray did you flip them Chz?

I only sprayed my reversal candidate plant once or twice before I flipped that lone plant. I didn't flip the ones to be pollinated until a good bit later as I wanted some visual confirmation the reversal was taking hold. The timing turned out to be pretty good and I didn't have to contend with the pollen for more than a week or so before I bagged and chopped it.
