Crashdog's 1st Grow Journal - How To Torture Small Leafy Things - DWC

Checking on them this AM. Still had a strong funky smell in the tent. Hope its not mold.

They girls had grown a lot in one day so the stretch is on. I was going to tuck them in this one last time then remove the scrog in a couple of days but reading your posts I totally agree. It's a pain in the ass (nothing to do with the probe). So I shoved all the branches under and removed it now so I wouldn't have to cut it out later.

DAMM!! they're bushy gals. Hopefully they grow nice and even like yours Growchy

They look a little beat up but they should recover fine.

I found some mould in my tent recently. After some warm and very humid days, followed by cold nights, moisture was condensing around the bottom of the tent walls. As soon as I noticed the mould growing on the walls, I was in there quick as a flash with some bleach on a cloth. I, too, noticed a funky smell that still lingered for a day or so afterwards. Fortunately, there was no mould growth on the girls.

Haha I see that now. You sounded serious bro ya can't scare people with the m-word! Well played pal

Sorry, I joke around A LOT

So here is a recovery picture Alice and Goldie later on today at lights out

No damage from removing the scrog.

I finished my Cloner today. I like the way it came out.

I'm going to try to save 2 of the 4 clones I had. They all had root rot but these 2 had some little roots showing.
Also took some new clones of Wendy and Wilma. Wilma is so bushy it's hard to find long stems.

I was also going to build another dwc bucket for that Liberty Haze seedling but my grow store sold me the wrong size grommets. So I had to put her in the Cloner. She should be all right for a day. Her roots might like the Bidet cleansing.

UGGGGGGG! I give up.

There's no smell.

No Dog Hairs in my fan.

Everything is perfect.

Maybe you can't see it good but there is a rubber dog turd in my tent.

Bad joke that didn't work. I'll have to try harder next time

I use battery operated pump. It has to go thru the screen to empty but there is enough play in the string to get it thru,, carefully!!. I have to slide the lid off a bit to fit the head of the rod in but my scrog is so light moving the lid moves the whole scrog. It take 2 D batteries and I'm on my second pair. I have to use it for the 2 cuke/tomatoes tote also. Probably start a 3rd set of batteries before the grow is over.
Filling is a lot easier. Don't have to go thru the scrog

After this grow I will probably only use it during veg for LST instead of tying everything down.
Props to Greengo for that idea. I kept the legs short to accomplish this.

Would i use it again during flowing? no. I would just grow more plants. much easier.

oh ya, the picture

Everything is looking damn good if you ask me! Quick question, do you suggest buying that pump, or spending the extra money and getting one that you can just plug in for like $80 ?

That's my plan also. I just picked up a square 8 gal bucket at a grow store by my office for my Res. I just don't have any room till those cukes\tomatoes are done. My veg room will be moved into the basement during the summer months.

My cloners worked great on those 2 almost dead clones. They have fully recovered in 2 days.

Looking good, Crashdog! I'm jealous. Can't wait to get my grow back up and running.

This did not happen. Wendy and Wilma's off spring started crying and wilting over when I took them out of the veg room.

I just wanted to see if they would all fit in the tent

Might have to hang the fan.

Definitely putting them in next saturday. That will give Goldie and Alice a 4 wk head start.

Lovely bushy plants there Crash. It's so much fun isn't it?:welldone::thumb:

Oh yaaaa,

Lots of fun. I love just sitting in the veg room

Quoting an older post from Growchy about my prefab buckets and forcing air down the drain tube

The downside to those buckets that use the tubes is the bubbles are so large, unlike bubbles from an air stone. Easier to diffuse oxygen into water with more surface area. That scrog setup looks great Crash and it's awesome that your getting your perpetual on already, harvests on the horizon!

Another problem I found is that now that the roots are so big there is now where for the "splash" of those big bubbles to go but up, even when the water is low. They hit the bucket lids which then slowly leaks out around the top of the bucket.
I put an air stone in to stop that.
