I'd be a terrible moderator... I hope you find someone!

As long as everyone agrees with me... then no ban-hammer! Bribes and "gifts" are encouraged and supported!:laughtwo:

:yummy: if'ns ya get my drift!

OK I fired myself...that didn't take long.

I worked as a blackjack dealer with fun money at a casino night on a weekend retreat.
Whenever someone brought me a drink or flashed me some tits I tended to misdeal in their favor.
I had a lot of fun that weekend :)

I did a write up on it a few years ago... look for dead decaying logs limbs on the forest floor, beside the limbs and dead trees there will be lots and lots of pure castings. This forest we are in is part of a very old park and part of it is an old growth forest and the rest is 2nd growth forest....all several hundred years old. The park we go to dates back to 1844 as a city park. Some trees are a lot older..

Yeah so when we go for a walk, we walk with the giants... well east coat giants anyway. The forest floor always amazes me. I'm always on the lookout for cool stuff. In these older growth forests, if you look close enough, the whole forest floor is basically one big giant worm bin, castings are literally everywhere. Easy pickings beside the logs. Fall is here now (kinda even tho it's been in the mid 80s and 100% RH yuk - AC is back on).

Leaves are beginning to fall, so a little harder to find. I have a few places I go back to all the time so I just brush some leaves away and scoop up a bucket or 3. Once you see the castings, it becomes pretty apparent they are everywhere.

Worm castings in the woods.... one of my favorite pass-times... of course my dog and wife tag a long wondering WTF is so interesting .... hahaha

What part of the country are you in Bob? You aren't in the Tennessee or North Carolina area are you? For some reason, those are the woods I picture when I read about you walking along and collecting EWC.

We're in PA - the place where we go in Wissahickon Valley Park it's actually in Philly.... Pretty cool we can step back about 150 years and walking distance. Not to mention there's a crap ton of trials to hike and bike on. It's a mecca for Mountain Bikers. No cars other than parking at the edge of the park... it's pretty big too about 15 miles long with some pretty cool granite outcrops, and several lava flows..

We live on top of an old extinct volcano. Eastern most section of the Appalachian Mountain system. It does look a lot like eastern Tennessee/Western NC... not as tall, highest elevation is 680' above sea level which is right there (sea level) so lots of steep rocky trails with ancient trees still living. They left the trees that were too difficult to get to.. thankfully.

IF we get tired of hiking biking dog walking and X-country skiing ... there's an Inn and beer and dog friendly. Not too bad, we go there daily (to the park).

Very nice, I was thinking possibly West Virginia or Pennsylvania as an option as well. I have been all up and down the eastern states, specifically the Appalachian Mountain system. Pennsylvania has got some good deer hunting. Glad to see they are getting some good elk re-population throughout that area as well.

I love Elk... good eats right there!

Damn right it is brother, its my favorite meat, just ahead of fresh Gator. Nothing like elk backstrap medallions. I have to say that for roasts, I prefer moose. MMMMMM

I've only had the backstrap.. :thumb: My brother in law I don't think liked it due to the color of the meat and gave us all the back strap from his kill. Awe man... we were in heaven... my dog was trying to figure out how to sit at the dining room table. We shouldn't talk it up... but hey it's the largest of the deer family and is venison. Mouth watering... thinking about it.

I like elk but it's been awhile.

My local grocery store sells beef backstrap medallion in 6 oz cuts for $2 each. Marinated overnight, then 4 1/2 minutes on the paninni grill.

Fresh elk is incredible. I usually go elk hunting every year in Idaho and the season usually kicks off yesterday. But with my back in its current condition, there is no way I am going up in those mountains and shooting one of them big bastards and have to carry 400+ lbs of meat out of those mountains. Thats a hell of a chore for a healthy person to pull off, let alone a broken one!!

I've been lucky enough to have nice friends share some steaks with me before they go in the freezer and you're absolutely right, it's amazing fresh. Now I'm just happy to get a few frozen steaks here or there. I'd like to get into archery, can't have a firearm with my MMJ license :(

And that right there is why I refused to get my MMJ license. No way in hell am I am giving up that right. Archery is fun. You get to hunt at the better time of the year but you gotta really get some skillz. Not only in shooting but in knowing your target, you stealth, your scent control and your nerve. Its fun though, I love it. Hoping I can hunt next year.

That....^^^ ain't worth it...

Chop down a big canna tree and hold it up like the fresh kill that it is....

We can get grass fed Filet Mignon for $6/lb here.... I have to cut it down but hey... dog happy me happy.

I was researching The Devils Tit.... since it really does look like a Sativa. Conrad made me do some thinking. I found a bunch of info on the Durban strains and other Africa Sativas... they look a lot like the DT Iv'e been growing. So I picked a Durban leaner from the first round I ran. It looks almost exactly like some of the old Durban and other African sativas that Sam the Skunkman was running back in the day.

I thought I posted an update but....?? Ah well.

Here's some trichome shots from the other day:

This a from a branch that was bent so I decided to do some test buddage and take some close up pics.
In this pic I'm looking at the waxy leaf and signs of PM/mold.... looks good.... we can see the 2 types of trichomes there pretty clearly with no sign of PM. Which is kind of amazing given the weather conditions.... last 10 days its been in the 80% RH at night and the rains are here. We have the AC on even tho its in the low 60s high 50s F outside.

Anyone still growing outdoors here, just got their crop toasted, high 50s 100% humidity and driving rains.... just like the PacNW. Its gonna take a week for anything to dry out. Outdoor gardens are done ..... was 85F yesterday.

A look at the trichomes here... perfect shape and a lot of clear and some cloudy

Now bud pics from the other day...

DT #1 close up side bud, getting a little color and some fade..

DT #1 - she's in training.... bulking up the buds pretty much. Almost done!

DSC_0024118.JPG

DT #2 - top down look at some side nugs. She's going to be the first on the chopping block. She's already dropped all of her early large fan leaves and pistols are turning color...

DT #1 again

DSC_0011_3_.JPG

DT #2 - going yellow and a little red - side buds... reason for all the rope - trying to keep the top colas out away from the lights so they don't get burned. To tall to get main cola pics. Nice curly tips here... that's genetics.

DT #1 small side bud ... easy one to take a pics of

Back in the 80's i belonged to a local archery club and shot year round, whitetails with a bow is the only way to go.

Try it on an 800lb elk 10 feet away. Talk about a test of nerve, knowing that big bastard can turn you into a kabob at any second. I released at 6 feet away right at the time he realized what I was and his eyes got as big as saucers! He ran about 20 yards and fell. Talk about heart pounding.
