Cottage 420's Organic Perpetual Indoor Garden

Thats crazy having a 60 day finish on a plant with Thai looking leaves.

Yeah buddy... its a full on Sativa too..... been getting a face plant every time I puff too much which is every time I puff it! hahaha

Well anyone thats been watching here... rolled the dice again and am back up to our cottage in Canada. Went away for the month of August left 4 plants going came home when the night time temps in Canada were in the single digits brrrrrr cottage is 3 season. Single temps is winter time.

So time to go home and chop the golden girl. Got home to several trees that were only 2ft tall when I left. Stretched to 7ft... not to shabby. I guess my soil is finally getting going after 4 runs... not to shabby.

So we are up at our cottage and decided to come home when the weather changes... it's FINALLY summer time in Ontario woooohoooo.... day temps in the 80s and night time low 60s ... ahhh man makes the beers go down soooo smooth. Well deciding to leave when the weather gets crappy turned out to be a great idea. Looks like we are going to be here a while longer than expected. Thought we would be on our way home today but the summer time temps look to be here to stay and are getting even warmer. Its warmer here than in Philly.... that's crazy! I'll take it every time. +1 to the weather network... they have been PERFECT 100%.

Soo anyways here's some update from the day before we left.

What we had to to was move some trees around as they were way too close to each other. Cut some of the LAF down low since each plant is grown up past the lamps we had to tie them down, rope em up and spread things out. Not much light penetrating to the soil this round so the LAF at the btm of the plants had to go.

Also had a very tiny mite outbreak....those little suckers gots to go. So did 2 IPMs 2 days apart... hit em with Monterrey and some Neem and Dr Bronners peppermint soap (a few drops is all) and the usual IPM stuff I use. This always knocks them to the curb usually for the rest of the run. Looks like bud washing at the end of this round tho... knock wood they are still alive when we get home.

So sorry for not hitting everyone's journals, been on the dock and not on the computer or celly.... be back soon enough for sure.....

Here's some pics of the newly arranged flower room. The talls are all Devils Tit!

Trees ... the canopy is about 1 ft above the lights so ropes and chains.....

DT #2 - Under skirt shot frost is starting.

DT #2 another under skirt shot... lots of long stigmas (hairs) on these plants.

DT #3 - got her tied up in between the lights on the main stem

DSCN24727.JPG

DT #3 - burnt tops a little but all good, not smoking leaves anyway and they usually fall off b-4 harvest.

So don't have a full room of flowers but what we've got going is going to be the same yield as if it was a full room.
5 zips off the yellow plant dried wt. and all of these are larger than the yellow plant.

on 9/11 when I took those pics the plants were 40 days or there abouts, should be ready for harvest when we get home.
Barring any issues.... knock wood.

DO you have an automatic watering system Bob?

Yes we use AutoPot XL 7 gal pots and a 60gal reservoir filled with RO water.

You'd be very surprised how much water these plants drink left to themselves.

Each plant averages .6 gal every day in flower.

dam bb those dt plants look like they will be some tastey meds for sure an great job on that dark devil what did u get for a yield off of her?? oh a quick question when giving the girls the malted grain teas when should i stop using them or is it fine to use all threw flower up till harvest??

Hey there Blaze,

Can go all thru flower just a little goes a long way, 1oz ground to say 3 gal water (or more) - try every other week ... once the soil goes a few rounds it gets better and better. Too much malted grain and there will be too much sugar in the soil and the soil can go anaerobic. I've done it, will kill the plant. The soil starts to smell funny....

I always get about a zip dry from the Dark Devil/plant in organic soil. What I do is run 20 at a time on a 3x5 table, in 60 days I have a hand full of buds. It's good weed for sure and bag appeal is off the charts.

Real nice bondage job on the quick home visit. Great to not be slave to our plants. Enjoy the good weather & vacation. :Namaste:

Oh dont worry I'm a slave when I have a full room.... I tried not to do a full room this summer run, a LOT less stress, but I was still worrying a little.
Always do I suppose.

It's easier to just hang with the plants and not worry.... we are homebody's for the most part so all good. Just need to get out of town every once in a while.

Right on brother :high-five: We aren't going to break any yield records but what you have is top over the top shelf.

The produce speaks for itself and your friends will always come back for more.

Once your yields start to fall off a little, then it's time to recycle and use a new mix. I take my containers all the way to the end. I can see it in my plants when the soil is getting tired but it takes several rounds. Different strains put different pressures on the soil too, so why a balanced mix is good. We get used to seeing results... when it changes then look to amend or change to new.

I'm always recycling and amending.

VEG plants are in a #2 nursery pot which is 3 gal - I basically take out the top 1/2 of my flower containers, put in the whole root ball from the #2 pot that takes up the top 1/2 of the 7 gal container and then add in some fresh soil mix with amendments (1/2 cup of the Re-amend Old Soil stuff) around the empty space around the root ball. Water ... into flower room.

This works and makes growing super easy. I just went away for a month and a half ... girls went wild while I was away. Shit I'm still sorting thru the branches!!! hahahahaha all good. Nothing pretty but Sativa buds in the house and they are kicking my ass.

My Devils Tit ladies are in senescence ... this strain will put on the weight in the last week after all the fans fall off. I'm at around 58 days in flower and was away on VACAY for 45 of those 58 days so I'm very proud of my girls and what they have achieved while we were away.

A little unruly, yes but none the less, still as expected and appreciated.

I took clones at 30ish days into flower, cut the flowers off the clones and into the cloner... 3 weeks later they are all ready to transplant.
More to come on that. I'm still catching up.

Here we go... officially a sorta mess in the flower room:

DT #3 nice low down flower pic... all the tops are over my head so hard to take pics up close!!

DSCN24884.JPG

DT #2 - she's in full on fall leaves.. all those big fans gave up the stored nutrients and are falling off... looks like fall to me, wont be long until chop. We just want to wait a little bit longer for bud swell.

I did a little watering in with some organic fossilized bird poop..... 0-9-0 which helped the last round in the last week. So trying it again.. usually I don't do bird poop (kills the mycos), it really made a difference yield wise with this strain packing on in the last week.

It's a work in progress... just trying to get these plants to the end with out a lot of fuss... got caught in the room with the plants then lights went out, I was in the back behind the big branches ... oye!

DT #2 - doesn't look pretty but at trim time, I'm going to be super happy. All these plants are the largest I've ever grown... so yields should be my best as well. These are all Sativa so we don't get all that frostiness that the hybrids have but this strain makes up for it with THCV !!

THCV - Tetrahydrocannabivarin - Wikipedia

It's the stuff that makes us high, it's a mainstay in Sativa strains. So these buds don't look very frosty, but I can say its VERY VERY strong and I have to take my time and I find myself cutting short and changing to another flavor so I don't face plant. Hard to believe...

DT #2 - loosing leaves, she will be the first to harvest. Many of those branches are 5' long or longer.

DT #3 - this is a lower down nug shot

DSCN24932.JPG

DT #3 - far back shot showing all her glory and shape.. all the others are much larger, she's the only one that kinda stayed under control and kept a decent shape.

DSCN24875.JPG

DT #1 - this is the main cola tied up to the far side of the room... 4' across and 7' up... outta the lights and that cola is extreme... it's like 20" wide and stacked.

DSCN2485_2_.JPG

DT #1 another shot farther back... can see the main cola leaning back and soaking in the light. DT #2 is the plant loosing all her leaves and there's a a pretty large Chemdawg Purps pheno in the back ... can hardly see her. She's no slouch either. Just overwhelmed by the DTs.

DSCN24844.JPG

DT #1 - close up... she's got the most frost and the whitest longest pistols.

DT #1 close up again...

What kind of camera did ya get? Mine has been messing up so I've been doing alittle looking at them. I like this Power Shot I have,, but if it takes a crap I want an upgrade.

Girls are starting to fill in abit... GL and Keepem Green

That's it! Another fine Devil's Tit grow and a fast finish.

I'm officially wanting to buy these seeds and they seem to be out of stock everywhere. Dang! Just one seed would get me started!

I'm glad you went through and sorted out all those branches, Who knew you had individual plants back there.

DT #1 - Look at the size of those leaves. That is darn near an indoor growing record for leaf size.

:bravo:

Thanks for taking time out from your busy vacation schedule to post again.
