Copperrein's Summer 2021 Outdoor Soil Grow

Hey @copperrein ! I’m going to lurk in your journal! I am trying to grow outside in a greenhouse. We have a bad japaniese beetle problem so I can’t keep my girls out of the greenhouse long. Your plants look beautiful!

I can’t wait to retire!

I‘m only 24 years, 3 months and 17 days away from it...

You will get there and be glad when you are. The last raise I got when I was still working wasn’t enough to buy a gallon of damn milk. I told them to keep it cause I can go fat and ugly down to the street corner and make more then that in an hour!!! Lol!! I got in big trouble for saying that cause I said it in the middle of a meeting lol! Nursing didn’t do me any favors. I was ready years earlier. I got sooooo sick of the hours, being on call, the patients hitting me and cussing me out and don’t get me started on the family’s…….. I’m gonna go smoke some bud now and count all my blessings I survived. Some may say I’m being dramatic but it really was mostly bad.

I’m picking up what you’re putting down sister.

I am lucky. We get paid well here and my team and ward is the bomb! Its literally the best place I’ve ever worked. It’s gen med so we have a bit of everything, and it’s short stay max 72 hours so a quick turnover.

I gave anyone in scrubs discounts and free shit at the tent. Fucking...if someone treats their nurse like shit they can fuck off to fuckity off land. My fucking grandma was a cunt to her nurses and her daughter WAS a nurse....like...wtf?

Soooo guys...

GUYS guess what I just splurged on

Omgggggg

Your photography is on fleek gurllllllllll!

I have to say the very vast majority of people I have nursed have been just so grateful, apologising when they need help, and just an honour to care for. But for some reason we tend to focus on that one arsehole, rather than the ward full of delights.

The meds room is where it’s at. We see some of the FUNNIEST stuff. The amount of men who stick stuff up their arses then can’t get it out is INFUCKINGSANE! And funniest part, they always “fall” on it. So Mr Gentleman, tell me again how you fell on the salt shaker?

Oh man, my mom had some great stories about things in butts. Like...they make literal dragon dicks now...out of body safe silicone...just put the fucking egg beaters down, man. It's not worth it.

Thank you! I'm absolutely loving photographing these plants. I'm saving up for a really nice 'micro' macro which is somewhere between a prime portrait lens and a true macro. I love the colors.

Update on the outdoor girls: they're fine. It's been rainy and gross so I haven't taken any photos of them. Also all the mosquitos came out so outside really sucks now.

Hey @Trala , know of any strains that might help with parkinson's type neurological disorders? My man has micro tremors and he was taking a beta blocker (weird but ok) for it and it totally fucked his depression. I've found one study done on mice using a synthetic cannabinoid (results were good) BUT....I am not an organic chemist and have no desire to synthesize anything.

So far it's looking like Trainwreck might be the best option because it's not going to put him to sleep.

Omg and they stick things down their urethras! Like defs we get one presentation per mon the with something weird stuck down the eye of it.

You really are gifted at it. Your pics are breathtaking. Like wall art worthy.

Omg I like in mossie central come summer.

I do know you can take a BB for tremors but I am not sure how or why it works. I know that we have all sorts of trials going on regarding weed and treatments. Does he actually have a formal diagnosis? And if so what is it. The black dog, my nemesis. I think I’ve been fighting that good fight my whole life. While I do have him somewhat tamed, I have to make a conscious effort not to let him take the wheel when it comes to driving my life. He drives me into a ditch errrrrrrrry fuckimg time!

I’m on tonight. I’ll have a chat with our admitting reg.

He really doesn't have a decent diagnosis. The docs here are like 'it's just tremors' and yeah. We had a neurologist lined up then covid happened. We need another referral and have been playing phone tag with the doc.

From my googling it seems science doesn't really know why the BBs work, either. Pretty cool shit...just not for him.

Constant tremor? And is it just his hands?

Dammit, @013 you didn't need to remind me about trim. I almost want to hire a local trim company this year but I dunno...seems weird bringing strangers in to my cave o'cannabis. Ugh.

@Trala Neck, chest, arms and hands. His dad had a slight tremor too and ended up having a stroke which PROBABLY AREN'T RELATED but I'm a chronic doom and gloom worrier. It doesn't help that as I get older, I'm entering the stage of my life in which friends are getting old and dying. Bah!

In other news:

I'M GOING TO MY FIRST BRICK AND MORTAR SEEDBANK TODAY!

@SmokingWings made me aware of what is apparently the largest walk-in seed bank in the US, Seed Cellar! It's 30 minutes away! Ahhhhh! Myself and my friend promised ourselves a fieldtrip once the fireworks season was done. We've been talking about this since I heard of the place. We're both big goofy kids on christmas right now. (insert more excited screaming here)

ALSO...guys...crypto currency is neat: I ordered from @True North Seed Bank and our bank wouldn't play nice with their pay thing (because international and probably the fact I'm buying cannabis seeds). I can't remember the last time I did a certified check and screw waiting for the mail sooo...in such an old boomer way (which I'm not but ya know) I figured coinbase out AND BOUGHT SEEDS WITH NERD DOLLARS (etherium).

Did you guys know seedbanks like crypto? (yes, you prolly did) True North gave me even more free seeds and a fat discount for using crypto. I don't understand what exactly crypto is but I like it. It's fun to watch the value of the various currencies change real time, too. Dudes, I love how abstract internet and technology has made portions of life. I love that randos on the internet can educate each other about growing things...it's like a hint that we're moving in a positive direction as a species.

Ok, weird rant over.

Outdoor girls are doing their thing. This is the boring stage of outdoor growing: not much training needed and nothing to really do until flower. I said I'd wait to start a new grow until the current tent is harvested but guys...new seeds.

P.s. I realized I have the predilection to become a seed hoarder. I used to play Magic the Gathering and strains occupy the same place in my brain as those damn MtG cards. I need them all even if I never plan on playing with them.

So I haven’t seen the admitting reg coz the hospital is very Q word (ask your mum what the Q word is. You can’t say it out loud on a ward EVER).

But I’m chatting with the nursing armchair experts, so propranolol is a really old school beta blocker and it is sometimes used to treat tremors and metoprolol is used too, they think it blocks nerve impulses. Other talking points are:-

- could it be meds related? Mood stabilisers can cause twitching
- twitches defs never caused or contributed stroke in father in law - well CN doesn’t think it does
- is he otherwise medically well ie hasn’t lost weight without trying

So it has been decided there is no need for you to start digging his burial plot just yet, but to be safe get him to a neurologist.

@Trala Propranolol is what he's on currently. It works for the tenor but I suspect it's increasing his depression. Also Ritalin. We stopped the Lexapro due what I can only describe as psychosis. He went a little nutzo on it.

He's pretty healthy overall, no significant changes in weight. I think part of it is recent stressors but we're in that grey phase of trying to find the right cocktail and yeah.

I got two strains today that I think will help with the tremors: Trainwreck and Snowcaine. Both are sativa dominant but also high in myrcene.

@SmokingWings thanks again for telling me about the massive seedbank in my backyard :green_heart:

Looks like a store I’d blow my allowance in very rapidly! Hope those strains you picked up help your pops out. Peace copper.
