Yeah I gave all my bud to a black guy from rent-a-car in Inglewood. He got Lemon Paki, Grape Ape, ready rolled Road Kill Skunk doob, Colombian Red trim and leftover White Widow... well that was everything I had left after 3 weeks in Cali anyway

No trash there. I'm pretty sure they frown upon national/international travel with stinky weed in your pocket. Sometimes I give out buds to people that come and work on the house, plumbers, masons, electricians. Everybody likes weed :) or at least they should!

i no what your saying i didn't mean it literally it was a figure of speech of course you can't travel with that but it was still a nice thing to happen for the other guy!

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

This is completely new info for me, too much folklore will make you confused though. Till this point I've believed GA to be some old Purps x Skunk cut that originated in Mendo or Humboldt. It's a pity that Phylos doesn't have the right cut yet, maybe then we'd be able to see what it is for real. And as I said I never grew GDP... well it's a cut, so it was never available over here, but if GA and GDP are indeed the same thing I smoked it and it wasn't that far from what I've grown myself. I even took a photo :)

Ken sells packs of GDP seeds under the Granddaddy Purple label. Its a fairly stable strain, and what I understand is that those seeds produce good plants. Methinks you got a Pineapple Express there with that strong flavor and smell of pineapples. Grape Ape tastes like fake grape, and to me just like GDP.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

I was gifted a cut of GDP that the seeds were from Ken's GDP. I was sent the best of the phenotypes he grew out. It didn't go purple for me or the original grower of it but man is it one of my favorites. When harvesting I saw just a touch of purple. The plant finished in 9 weeks, it has a strong grape smell in flower and a grape kool-aid taste on exhale. It is a very vigorous strong plant. I don't know if it's the real deal or not but it sure is one of the ones I'd call special.

Yep, that was the real deal. Odd thing about GDP is that the grape taste is "fake Koolaid grape" flavor. I now have 3 people wanting a GDP cut if I find it again, or if this GA is the real deal. I thought that I would have no problem finding a replacement GDP cut last year so I let it go. BIG MISTAKE! I could/should have overwintered several clones. I still have about 3 oz left though. Heh heh heh. I love the high, and it is special. Lots of lower grade GDP around, all the grams I have bought and sampled have not been as good as the stuff I grew last year. It finished late for me. Only the calixes were purple. The flavor was light, but distinct. As you say, when you exhale, the flavor has a lasting finish to it. The high... well, if I smoke too much it will give me couch lock. So one or two hits, and I am there. Great pain reduction and mood elevation, also good for sex. My best find last year. I grew OG Kush (yawn) White Widow (good day weed), Blue Dream (boring, but good for sex) and GDP (outstanding).

Anyway, I looked and looked for GDP this year, and they all sold out before I could snag any. I went to find the gal that I got the GDP cut from last year but she had moved. Then I found the GA grower, and I am back in business again. He says this GA is the best strain he has ever grown, and it is his all time favorite as well. He is a large clone grower near here. So far, its growing exactly like GDP did for me. Even the high PM susceptibility. Which is one reason I let GDP go last year. My GDP was covered with PM when I got back from vacation, and neem completely eradicated it in 2 days. 100:1 70% refined neem oil (aza removed). This year the GA gets neem every 2 weeks, regardless. Gotta keep the PM away from it. BTW: the purple color in GDP seems to be more from cool fall night temps, like a lot of purple strains. And as seen here, there are a lot of cuts and seeds that are said to be GDP or GA, but they turn out to be something else.

I got my NASA approved eclipse viewing glasses in the mail last week. I am just above the full eclipse line here. Traffic is going to be insane so I am staying put here with my plants. I am not sure what strain I am going to smoke for it yet. I am out of Durban (banging head). Perfect morning weed for this event.

Sounds like you had some good stash while here. Cool. I bet that guys was sure happy. I like to gift strangers a bud or two every now and then. I was in a group home in Inglewood back in the early 70's. The girls sure look happy out there in your little spot......

I hope he enjoyed it. I told him it was quality weed he was given.

I was curious if there's a chance of scoring that pheno from seed.

It sure sounds nice, but mold/PM susceptibility is a no-no for my climate. Most of the time RH is high, so weak plants, especially those ones bred in stable, indoor environment won't take it. For the last few years I've been looking for anything on both sides of the spectrum that tolerates high RH very well and UD is what I settled on finally, cause she won't catch mold when other plants will. I'd like to cross it to CG '72 considering it should be homozygous and liking high RH, so I can get sativa-dominant plant that is right for my climate and has desired high.

Couldn't say it was doing better, whole LA looked very conflicted to me and I only spent there few days. I enjoyed Venice Beach and Old Pasadena, otherwise pretty ugly shithole with Beverly Hills and Bel Air stuck in the middle.

Tead has a GDP seedling going. Not sure of it's genetic origins.... may have come from Dusted Bud Genetics.
PM ehhh? Tead will need to get her on some neem.

Stay on the top of things, man!

LOL, that was my impression, too. I spent 2 days at UCLA medical recently - nice area, sorta, I guess - but everything else looked like a place I wanted to leave as quickly as possible. An airplane seat on a departing flight never looked so good.

Greater Los Angeles has (and always has had) many dimensions. Its like the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings series. Some places are marvelous havens with elves and hobbits, and others are danger zones full of goblins and orcs. I used to hang out in Redondo with a GF and the beach scene, and then in Laurel Canyon with the music and movie scene. I also lived through the Rodney King Riots in Sandy Eggo. That is when I bought my first AR-15. LA/San Diego is only 20 minutes away from complete chaos. They burned down East San Diego and South Central (what used to be Watts) in a matter of days. They are building the new Chargers/Rams stadium in Inglewood now. Should give the place another dimension.

I do not miss SoCal, except in winter. Winters there were wonderful. Christmas dinner on the front lawn. Thanksgiving at the beach. And the women. Millions of hot babes. *sigh*

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Women are like deer... They go till they hit the water and then they stop. Deer hunting is always good along a river bank,, and women,, they hit that ocean then stop. So babe hunting is always better at the beaches... I was a kid when I was down there,, little punk ass surfer and skateboarder. Dogtown''' Local Santa Monica lifeguard tower #36 I think it was. Alittle surfer gang really.. Till we got into it with some Crips then it got scary and I lost 2 friends in a drive by. I got out of there and moved to SF area. And never looked back....... To me good riddance.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Funny, last time I was in Santa Monica, or rather, Venice Beach I was doing location scouting for a rock video for Cheap Trick. We had checked out a high end digital camera from one of the studios in Culver City and went to the Venice boardwalk. I was filming the chainasaw juggler, the Indian dude that steps in broken glass with his bare feet, and then I focused in on a guy keeping three Frizbees in the air at one time while hitting on every woman that passed him by. He turned around and it was a guy that I had worked and partied with in NorCal for many years. He had moved to Santa Monica, had a job as a waiter, and had a revolving door GF policy that was never ending. He was in heaven. A far cry from the trainer park that he grew up in. We then headed to the Long Beach Bridge where a million and one movies and TV shows have been shot, and then downtown to look at the old abandoned buildings for shooting sites for the video and then up to Griffith Park and out Mulholland Drive. Scouting for videos and features was a fun job in LA, especially when I was camped out in Laurel Canyon, where you get the illusion that you are not in the middle of the LA sprawl. Later I camped out in Echo Park, which was not bad either. I was younger and I could party all night and work all day. That was in the 1980s.
