Conradino23 Keeps On Keeping On Outdoor & Indoor Using LOS/High Brix Methods

No man, I fortfeited. I thought about it for 30 sec and then I killed her and poured shitloads of pyrethrin into the empty air-pot, which I left outside, so the fuckers die quick! I'm so stoned... but it means I'm gonna have to inspect all the plants tomorrow to be on the safe side... and then it's gonna be alcohol. So much for a low stress grow!

LOL...never mind....I will finish reading the rest of the thread. I see you culled her! Probably a safer move. Still I would dip those others in just plain water. You can literally drown the bugs with the plant upside down dipped in the water.

But the dip is still a good cure for small vegging plants. The same thing had occurred to me but I've never had to try it.

Thanks for piping up, Stank. :Namaste:

Hey @Van Stank. So all these are great ideas and yeah I killed her quickly. You know I thought that if on 4 plants only one is wimpy and got infested as a result then that's the weak link that should be dropped and now I have more space for the healthy plants btw. Those who know me are aware that I don't tolerate lacking genetics and I cull plants if they're hopeless. As a result the other ones are pretty healthy although they are dropping Brix, which is my main preoccupation right now as I can't risk them getting prone. The state of russet mites right now is that there are only eggs and nymphs and they're all very scarce. I had to go over leaves with a loupe really carefully to eveb spot them, but they're there all right. Alcohol beat them to a pulp and they hardly even move, so now I just have to finish them off with grace. I want to fog pyrethrin and then get them into shower, cause due to their weight 40-50 lbs I can't really do the reverse dunk :) There I intend to shower them with hot water a sort of indoor rain, which mites seem to die from and that'll be that I hope :)

Yeah the dunk/dip is great if you get them on smaller plants in veg. I don't move a plant into flower if its got anything on it. I dealt with bugs in flower, never again.

Culling, always better to do if you don't absolutely need the plant/meds

Yeah that's my bad luck I guess. In veg they just don't show up, which is why I need to do it quickly before they really start to bloom.

If what your using don't kill the suckers,, you can try the Green Cleaner,, which is what I use if I 'REALLY have to in flower...
They have another,, alittle more costy called trifecta they use up to the last week of flower...
I don't know if you can get these over there,, but they are worth looking into.. GL with them

To be really honest I'd like to go with predatory mites, but they're so expensive here and you get 100 satchels minimum, which means I'm gonna waste 97% of them, cause I only have three plants.

I've used them before on an'slight' problem, well l lost that crop. But I know some that did great with them,, as long as you don't have a BAD problem,, they should work for you with that small of a garden and as few mites as it sounds like you have... They eat like 2 mites a day or 7-8 eggs a day.. Trouble is getting them to the mites... Mine came packed in sawdust and you have to let them climb up from the bottom,, and most didn't make it..
Make sure you get the right ones for your growing environment. Some do humidity well,, some don't. They got 4 or 5 kinds..

Here they are cheap,,, cept you need speedy shipping.. Which can run close to the price of the mites.. They ship overnight. I don't know what amount comes in a satchel? But last I bought was like 4,000 cost 65-70$. And they sell 2,000 min for 20 bucks less. But I know you over there and things are alot different.. BTW what does it cost you to mail a simple letter? Here's it's a half a dollar... GL with them

Hmm well I'd like to use them next time around preventively, which seems like it could really work for me. I need to find a culprit in my system and once I eliminate it I should get back to low stress growing... hopefully.

So letter here is between 1,10-2 EUR depending on the weight.

Went shopping today, got an oz of indoor, 1g of some crack like crystals, and sugar wax, all top shelf.;

Cheers

I'm looking forward to the similar market over here. That'll be a game-changer :)

Hmm btw I fogged my tent with pyrethrin today. It sounded like a good alternative to spraying. I ran a fan for a while to make sure the dust gets everywhere. Tomorrow I'll give them a hot shower, I'll clean the tent and that should do it. I'd really like to omit spraying every 2-3 days like the last time only to keep the mites in check.

good luck to ya!

Fingers crossed man :)

I've already decided I'm done with spraying and fogging. I'll monitor the leaves, but I'm gonna focus on keeping the Brix up. Btw I ran quite hot water 115-120 F, but I can't see any damage. A bit of a shock for the plants, but they should get over it.

Maybe it's just bad luck, but it's really hard to embrace this indoor adventure if you get deadly pests two times in a row, which you've only read about beforehand and didn't even suspect could infest your own grow.

Totally hear that! These gnats, thanks for asking ;), are less of an issue for my indoor plant now (although it was definitely stunted by them). But they’re still causing some issues for my new seedlings. 3 out of 7 might not make it. The Bti powder is helping but I think I’m gonna have to splash out on some gnatnix or something. Folks say you can put a dry layer on top of the soil and remove and replace it for watering, but I just can’t manage all that extra manual activity so the gnat nix might have to be the next step. Can’t get the Brix up if they don’t emerge successfully!

Outdoors has its challenges, but the natural predators are big, big plus. Rain coming right when you don’t want it is a pain in the but tho’! 5days of drizzle predicted the day after my seedlings emerged  which is also fungus gnat heaven I suppose. I’m gonna have to bring them in under cover...

Man I hope the shower and the fog and everything else you’ve done has it sorted now for a good brixy finish for your current crop. Bring on the sunny spot I say! :D

:Namaste:

So I'm happy to report that plants are clean. I've just pruned Pink Sherbet and went over every leaf with a new loupe. I need to check on Red Diesel, but I assume she's clean too. Now I have to work on the Brix, cause they got stressed and started dropping them down in the process!

So for those of you who might have this problem: spraying with alcohol >>> fogging pyrethrin >>> hot shower works :thumb:
