Male Plants do not produce seeds. They produce Pollen Sacks that burst open & drop the pollen on the Female Plant. That is what produces the seeds. If you have a Male White Widow & a Female Kush you end up with a cross of those 2 strains when you get seeds. If you want to get seeds, buy a bottle of STS & just spray 1 branch on a Female Plant. That 1 Branch will produce seeds.
 
Well, since I don't like these non-dimmable ballasts I ended up buying more. Someone put 3 Hoods (same as other 2 that I bought) & 3 Hypotech 1000 watt Dimmable Ballasts on offer up for $120 for all of it so I bought it. So now I'll be selling 2 of them in my yard sale next weekend. Should be an interesting yard sale since there is a lot of my old grow stuff in it.

well, that right there tells you how much I've read up on male plants, THANKS. And is that what the name of it is?...STS Spray?

Yes, STS (Silver Thiosulphate Solution) I think it stands for. If you put STS in on ebay you will see it.

No, just 2 of them. Keeping 3. I find a lot of deals on craigslist & offer up for used equipment. I look for deals with extra stuff I can sell & make some of my money back. There's some P1200 lights on there right now for $350 ea. Those are $1599.00 new.
 
Changing the 4" fan to a 6" Intake in the 5 x 5 tent today. Hopefully that takes care of the Neg. air pressure in the tent when it's zipped up. 4" Intake on high & 6" Exhaust on low & still sucks the tent in. So going 6" on both ends now that I picked up another fan.
Also going to start switching the shed over to the HPS lights today. I ordered new bulbs & timers for each light so I wont start Flower till they get here. Should have it ready in a day or 2. Come the end of Jan. all the plants will go to flower no matter their size. This grow is not what I expected it to be.
I'm not sure if it's the light, the Ver. 3 of Mega Crop (1st time using this ver.), too much LST & topping, or what. Could be a combo of the 3. I usually don't do this much Topping & LST. Just wanted to try something different.
Never the less I want to get some new stuff started so these get flowered by end of Jan.

I am a bargain shopper too. It seems there's a lot of weird wholesalers in my area with LED grow lights. I've bought 2000W LED's (Philzon's) at $60/each!
 
I managed to swap out the Intake Fans in the 5 x 5. I did the Exhaust Fan & Filter & got 1 of the lights up so far. I have to take the 3 x 3 tent down to go farther. That means putting the Peyote Wi Fi back in the house till I get everything done & ready for Flower. I'm going to add the TSW 2000 to the 5 x 5 tent. That should tell me if the slow growth has to do with not enough light. Anyway, I'll move the plant tonight & take the 3 x 3 down.

Yes seeds do not always sink. Further I have had some genetics that start slow but end up as the most robust plants. I don't cull anything because it all seems to come back!

I'm gonna try this STS experiment. I have some amazing Durban Poison - original genetics from Amsterdam and some Indica Dominant strains I am hoping to cross. My current plan is to STS one branch of my Sativa until I get male pollen then add in another one or two of my Indica strains as the female. I think with 4 plants I can get a Sativa seed from my Durban Poison (it will fertilize itself), and some crossed seeds with my Indica dominant hybrids.

I'll keep you posted, starting mid January.

Thanks ... Drey. A friend just brought some seeds over sense they saw I already had mine planted....he wants me to do his; BUT wanted to put them in a glass of water.....I put mine right in the soil:headbanger:.....Just finished....doing it my way....but one of them probably won't come up....looked like it was already starting to sprout, then its all dried up.....we'll see.

I put my seeds in the soil. From what I've seen the floaters will usually go down to the bottom in a day or two with a little poke. I have way better luck just planting my seeds rather then the cup of water or paper towel method. Usually 3 - 5 days & they poke their heads up.

I'd be afraid to drink the stuff if it turns things Female .... lol.
 
I think that's backwards, it turns female plant branches to male.

My overwatered autos are slowly recovering, still will likely be stunted and small.
That's OK they are for seeds and even a small plant can give 100s, plus my indoor space is small.

I did copy your rack over drainage disk to get airflow to the bottom of the fabric pot.
Great idea.
 
Time for a little update of what I'm up to. But first off I'd like to mention that either of these plug types work fine with the lights. I looked at some lights at the Hydro store & some had the Round Plugs on the lights & U-Shaped plugs on the ballast. Asked the guy at the Hydro Store & he said there is no U-Shaped Plug end that goes in the ballast plug end. That they are all round on the lights. He says the flat end is designed to hold the plug in tighter.

So I'm replacing the Old Ballasts with these Hypotek 1000 Watt Dimmable Ballasts.

And here we have 2 pics of the Shed / Flower Room that I'm putting up the lights in. I have the 6" Fan & Filter Mounted. I have 1 of the lights up & the Exhaust Duct Connected to the Vent for outside. I'll be taking down the 3 x 3 today & getting the rest installed.

And 1 last shot of the Peyote Wi Fi in the 3 x 3. I think she is ready to flower. The room will be done soon & we will get rolling on that.

The Clone Troopers ! They seem to be doing well. Looks like I might hit my highest success rate cloning .... lol. I think @Emilya , is right about keeping the stems above the water. The ones above the water have much more root growth coming out. The ones in the water just have nubs still.
