Colombian Gold Grow: Come Learn With Me How To Produce Your Own Seeds!

Will be doing some pollination very soon myself. I got one Male out of my 4 seedlings. Since it is a Photo x Auto, when I cross it with it's sister the offspring should show 25% auto flowering traits.. one step closer to creating my own auto strain...

I am finding chucking pollen to be a rather addictive hobby.

Since it is a Photo x Auto, when I cross it with it's sister the offspring should show 25% auto flowering traits.

Crossing a photo with an auto will give you pretty much no chance at an auto flowering offspring of that cross. To bring back the auto flowering trait you'll need to start using your CS and back crossing with auto strains to re-establish the auto tendencies.

Disclaimer: I really don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to the genetics. I just like making good quality seeds to grow.

Well, by the tone of your voice I wasn't really sure if you were busting my chops or not.

In a virtual room the tone you hear is of your own design. I find it most productive to hear everything through a filter of unconditional loving. :battingeyelashes::green_heart:

I'm glad you're doing the CS tutorial on an auto beez. It drives us nuts to pay that steep price per seed for the advantage of autos. I'm enjoying the show, even if I'll never be in the place where I'll need to make my own. Lol! With all of you being so creative and my success with cloning my bases'll be covered for the rest of my lifetime. :slide:

I appreciate it. From my research here and elsewhere I find that:

- a photo x auto produces photo seeds with a recessive auto trait.

-(where I am at) crossing two photo x autos should bring some auto traits to the surface, roughly 25% will show this. I will have to plant alot of plants to find these.

-(where I am headed) crossing two plants that display the auto flowering trait should give me 100% autoflowering offspring.

-the final goal is to pheno hunt those, self the most vigorous females and I have my own strain, although probably not very stable as far as other traits go

The reason I joined 420 is because when I lurked across the other cannabis forums, it seemed like every thread turned into a fight. I didn't see that here. Just a lot of open minds... except for some of the LED snobs, and even they are pleasant as long as I choose to not to take a defensive posture. Lol

If you use CS to make female pollen sacks on an autoflower plant and take that pollen an pollinate another autoflower plant the offspring will be 100% autoflower fem seeds. That's probably what you said anyway...LOL

I am really liking this plant. It shows a lot of the Sensi Seeds Northern Light traits with it's shape, branch thickness, huge leaves. But the leaves are really starting to bleed purple around the buds and I have a feeling at some point in the grow I'll see some purple (from the Dark Devil mom) in the buds as well.

 What on earth is an LED snob?
Not a real discussion I am looking to have. Lol. It's not derogatory so much as an observation that I have to label with something. I am a dab snob, no BHO. only co2 extracted oils and solvent free hash for me.

That's the faster route for sure. Mine is the slow route because I am trying to infuse the DDA with my Columbian genetics. Time consuming stuff for certain

Did you ask me if I was going to remove any of the lower vegetation from that plant?
Nope! I asked if you were going to pluck off the lower fluffy buds growing further down the stems of the lowest branches.

Stuff like this:

If I had not just harvested and trimmed that Hawaiian Mayan Gold plant which was the first to grow in this tent under the QB lights I would have said yes. But I bottled every bud off that Hawaiian Mayan Gold plant with the exception of a handful. They were all resin coated and although small, they were very dense. Once the plant in question has stopped it's stretch I will slightly thin out the canopy just enough (couple leaves a day) to allow good light penetration down to the smaller buds. The Northern Lights plants produce some seriously dense buds too.

EDIT: But if after a couple weeks they're still "larfy" then I most likely would snip them off.

Well this is only the second plant I am growing under the QB lights. With the first one having such nice lower buds I thought what the heck, wait a few weeks and see what they're doing.

I decided to enter the photo of the month contest again. This was my entry. I know it won't stand a chance against the competition but it's fun to enter.

Yes Dad, I remembered! ;)
