Some words to help with my hash making process.

The press form is steel I had laying around in the garage scrap from another project. 3x4x1/4" box steel and 1/4" plate for the ends. Wrapped in nonstick aluminum foil. Then the Kiff from the 5 runs of the separator machine is added and pressed flat by hand, then the whole things is wrapped it aluminum foil. Then it goes in the oven at 200 until too hot to hold comfortably (but not hot enough to smoke).
Then it goes into the vice in the garage with a socket to space one side and compressed as hard as vice can. Then it is removed after cooling. Let me know if you have any questions.
If you are trying to make your own and don't have metal laying around, you can get small quantities in North America at metal supermarkets. If you are going to do that then you can pick whatever size and shape you like. Easiest is probably a slice of square or round seamless tube, then two slices of round or square solid bar to fit in them. Then you don't have to pay for cutting the plate. Though anything could work.

I cut mine with chop saw and angle grinder and die grinders which I allready have.

Hi Ottowagreen,some impressive stuff there in the pics .You mind me asking what heights from the seedlings you started out with? Having a few issues getting the right height set on my Lumenator and I am running auto's so don't want to waste precious days with wrong lighting heights. I'm about 12 days or more in and looking very slow compared to 5 and 6 day pics I am seeing online.

Go as close as you can while maintaining the foot print you need. Watch to see if signs of stress but I've never seen any

Rm2016 I started at 36in and worked down to 18in over my first 10 days of seedling growth. Hope that helps

If I started my lights at 6' away then moved down to 12" that would work too, doesn't mean it is efficient though. Lights should be as close as possible while maintaining the spread you need for your space.

Also if you want to up efficiency to higher levels add a mover. I use agramover.com
Without it I likely couldn't get closer than 12" with lights stationary. Though they needed that height to get the spread I needed at the time.

I am getting some bleached tips on a stationary 6" distance with the 3w x 150 lights. *-10" and everything is good. But a limit of two plants per light that close because of footprint. When I switch to all led for the summer I am going to get an agramover like OGr.

Cool cheers guys.I will eventually get the hang of it. Hps was so much handier I will stick with it though and get it right I will most definitely look into the mover too seems like a great idea to get closer but keep the light spread too

How is HPS easier? I used to run HPS and found it more difficult. Too much heat, and burns the plants crunchy brown if you get close to it.
Led is easiest. Just put it as close as you can and done.

Oh and there is no need to gradually reduce or any of that you can just do it at once
