Thanks BudMan! She's shaping up! Bud dreaming time! Every plant I think no this is sparse, hope there's more, then there usually is!Nice job SO, she looks great.
I think she is packin! Hehe, that's the story I'm sticking with today . Get snow yesterday? We got 6 inches for a change. I got spoiled this year!Highya SO,
She looks very nice! Seems to be lovin' the light! A very pretty massive lady. Looks like she's packing on the buds, too! Very nice! Happy Smokin'
That sucks! Sorry to hear this Otter, hope you're doing ok.Hi folks, I got covid again
Thanks! I need that myself! She looks good with a little off the top Stone!
Thanks Meffa, After taking test after test I never tested positive while my daughter kept testing positive for a week or more so go figure. I think I didn't get it but just a cold for me.That sucks! Sorry to hear this Otter, hope you're doing ok.
Yeah, I was on the fence until they started showing up. Now I can look forward to chucking pollen in 2 or 3 days! I'm going to hit one smallish bud and hope for a few f2 seeds. That does look Better , good decision , Lots of buds ! If you can see them they can see the light or something like that BUD DREAMING OH YA !
Cool video Shed CLGood stuff with the refractometer Otter, and I'm glad you're only getting mild covid symptoms.
With using a garlic press and making 'green worms'. To avoid that, I roll up the leaf, and s l o w l y squeeze the garlic press to encourage the sap to be forced out, rather than giving a gorilla vice grip and mincing the leaf, you got too much strength Otter! Yup, clearly your symptoms are mild, haha. It's all down to the interval time of impact, just squeeze it s l o w l y. If you can reduce the interval time of impact, then even a ping pong ball can smash thru wood like --> here.
Hi Otter. Which week of flower are you in? I'd love to do some defoliating myself but I'm still in week 1 and planned to wait until week 3. I've never stuck to a defoliating schedule and wanted to try it this time, but I'm chomping at the bit to pluck a few that are in the way.LEAF THINNING? YES, NO WAIT, MAYBE, NO, OH ALL RIGHT UPDATE.
I am torn thinking about taking leaves from a plant. Normally I go through a grow taking very few. My plants know what to do generally and I let them. Not this one!
So I defoliated! Stretch is at a snails pace now so yesterday I took a good look at the leaf situation and went to town! Somewhere between a dozen and two dozen leaves were taken and some were tucked. She looks relieved and now able to accept light where it counts. I found one shoot yellow and cut it out. Not bad, thought there'd be more.
for looking in.
You didn't ask me @meffa, but your question is low-hanging fruit!Hi Otter. Which week of flower are you in? Your grow is effing fantastic! Now I need to get out the garlic press and start reading up on how to measure brix, but I'm not sure what exactly that is!
By all means; I appreciate your answering! You didn't ask me @meffa, but your question is low-hanging fruit!
Don't start defoliating a plant that's only 1 week into flower. Leave her with all of her resources so she can do what she does!
There's plenty of time down the road for defol.
Stone 12 is good for late veg/early flower.OK NOW! IT'S BRIX TIME. UPDATE
Hi folks, good news I'm almost sure. I still haven't tested + for the virus and I'm having only the slights of symptoms today! YAY!
This beauty never missed a beat! Bode I did decide to clip more leaves than I normally do. I took 3 today 1 yesterday to get a drop of liquid from and put it on a refractometer to get its Brix # and I found I'd be payed back to do it! there's a bunch of bud under some leaves. I'll take this week, which is the last days of stretch, and thin them a bit.
So rookie Otter heard to put leaves in a garlic press and press to get a drop of liquid. Well, that's not really that good an idea.
This is what you get when you do that, and I'm lucky I used to be a guerrilla in my former life or I wouldn't have had the hand strength to squeeze it through. I gave it another push for an inch of green worms. All of which seemingly contained no drops. I took the green mush between two spoons and pressed with my fingers and did get some drops onto the refractometer and peeked in for a whopping brix reading of 12! I think I'm a very happy camper from what I can gather. At 12 they are allegedly healthy enough to fend off lots of bugs and other fiends of the garden! I'll take that!
Here's one bud section that's in the lowest position on the plant I'll keep.
Right there
It's still chilly down low. I haven't stopped the heated tub yet. I don't know when I'll try that Maybe mid flower. I didn't reset it since I fired up the dehumidifier a few days ago. RH was getting stuck around 70% and I won't have that. It's set at 50% now and the tent is seeing 48% today.
I'm a poodle guy, but a full size one, though never lived with one! You?
HEy Meffa, I'm at the end of week 3. I wait till they stop stretching. Always after 2 weeks and usually about 3.Hi Otter. Which week of flower are you in? Every leaf! How about those branches huh? Big uns!I doubt that monster felt more than a tickle, and if you're going to drought every leaf counts!
Those branches are like trunks.
As I recall it was not crisp. Interesting information. Fuzzy = ok calcium. Crisp = a need for calcium. I did take mental note and wondered why my view was different than pics I've seen that were perfectly crisp. I'll check again soon. Thanks, this is exactly what I needed to know! I notice your scale goes to 40. Mine is 20 if I remember right so there's that.Stone 12 is good for late veg/early flower.
Was the line in the refractometer a crisp sharp reading of 12 or was it fuzzy and spread out from 11 to 12-ish? A crisp line means calcium is still low, a fuzzy one means its good.
Hete is mine at 11ish with proper soil calcium in mid to late veg
If yours is still crisp a little calcium will be a free brix boost of a point or two as calcium is 1 of the 5 players in raising brix.
HEy Meffa, I'm at the end of week 3. I wait till they stop stretching. Always after 2 weeks and usually about 3.
Hehe, I'm not sure exactly what brix is. It's a measure of plant sugar I think and the more the healthier. I better do more reading!

I was like a monkey trying to eff a football trying to get a pic! You just find a hand position and tap the screen?
pretty much yes. Its tough. I set the refractometer on a shelf so I have 2 hands for the phone but its still an exercise in patience. Its all easy until you have to click the shutter buttonHEy Meffa, I'm at the end of week 3. I wait till they stop stretching. Always after 2 weeks and usually about 3.
