Cherries DubeLee In A S.I.P. - An LOS Grow

Amazing plant you've got there, Stone! :adore:

I can report she is still growing like a Porsche ! Faster than anything I could have imagined for one. Another is the incredible bulk it has.
I'm super impressed with the size of those fan leaves, too.

Damn Those boxes are $$$$ 129.00 for 3 . Beez are you thinking of starting seed right in the box or germ. them and replant ??
Sorry I'm so late responding, SB. I'll be starting the seeds my usual method (solo cups), then transplanting into the Box when ready to go outside. I decided that I didn't need all the accessories that usually come with the Earthbox (wheels, staking system, soil, nutrients) so the boxes only ended up costing $39 each. Still more than a DIY, but not bank-breaking.

I had a great interaction with Earthbox. 4 of these veg and root boxes and auto watering systems have shipped for the @ViparSpectra KS5000 tent! Next grow is going to be a fun one over there! I'm hoping they come on as a sponsor as well!
Exciting news! :high-five:

I hope your recovery is going well. :circle-of-love:

Hi folks, I got covid again I'm almost sure so I'll be light on posting coming up.
Damn, so sorry to hear that Otter. :(

Copied from your other thread:

Grab some of last summer's Candida and put it (undecarbed) directly in the MB2 and make CBDa caps. Make them the same strength as your regular CBD oil and take them 3 at a time.

Also, they discovered cloth masks are no better than no masks. Prettier yes, but not effective against Covid!

From the articles I saw it was CBDa and CBGa that might be helpful against Covid. Here's the info @Virgin Ground posted back in January of last year.
It's dreamtime for buds!
For us too just looking at them!

Highya SO,

Your lady is looking very productive! I counted 18 tops and several more may make it, too! Great chance for them all to fill out very nicely in that SIP! Is that the one that wouldn't be tied down? She's come a long way!!
Oh! I had a great interaction with Earthbox
Great news!! Next grow with five Earthboxs, you won/t need to grow again for a year, with that much produce!! Happy Smokin'

Thank you, on it!
Get better quickly Otter. Your plant is beautiful
Will do Carm! This time is mild so far thankfully!

The tops are multiplying! Branches are getting shoots that are thick as some of my cloth pot branches and making it almost to the canopy top! There's really only 11 or 12 tops from mains. Bizarrely healthily growing!
Hope you feel better soon.

If you need a naughty nurse I’m a cooo-eee away.

Ps plants bang are on babe!
Naughty nurse = feeling better! I feel better already!

I seen a tomato that said it should be allowed to dry between watering to not get wet feet . I don't know if this sip would be a problem with that style of plant ?
Here's a quote from the Earthbox website:
"Plants that bear fruit (tomatoes, peppers, squash, etc.) will need more water than herbs and greens. If you are growing fruiting crops, be sure to fill the water reservoir first thing in the morning, and again later in the day or evening. Tomatoes can take up to 10 gallons per day when they are producing fruit..."

OK NOW! IT'S BRIX TIME. UPDATE

Hi folks, good news I'm almost sure. I still haven't tested + for the virus and I'm having only the slights of symptoms today! YAY!
This beauty never missed a beat! Bode I did decide to clip more leaves than I normally do. I took 3 today 1 yesterday to get a drop of liquid from and put it on a refractometer to get its Brix # and I found I'd be payed back to do it! there's a bunch of bud under some leaves. I'll take this week, which is the last days of stretch, and thin them a bit.

So rookie Otter heard to put leaves in a garlic press and press to get a drop of liquid. Well, that's not really that good an idea.
This is what you get when you do that, and I'm lucky I used to be a guerrilla in my former life or I wouldn't have had the hand strength to squeeze it through. I gave it another push for an inch of green worms. All of which seemingly contained no drops. I took the green mush between two spoons and pressed with my fingers and did get some drops onto the refractometer and peeked in for a whopping brix reading of 12! I think I'm a very happy camper from what I can gather. At 12 they are allegedly healthy enough to fend off lots of bugs and other fiends of the garden! I'll take that!
Here's one bud section that's in the lowest position on the plant I'll keep.
Right there

It's still chilly down low. I haven't stopped the heated tub yet. I don't know when I'll try that Maybe mid flower. I didn't reset it since I fired up the dehumidifier a few days ago. RH was getting stuck around 70% and I won't have that. It's set at 50% now and the tent is seeing 48% today.
🐩 I'm a poodle guy, but a full size one, though never lived with one! You?

Nice Brix results though probably not surprising since the plant looks so damn healthy!

Might want to save your hands and use your press, unheated of course. :)

Good stuff with the refractometer Otter, and I'm glad you're only getting mild covid symptoms. :thumb:

With using a garlic press and making 'green worms'. To avoid that, I roll up the leaf, and s l o w l y squeeze the garlic press to encourage the sap to be forced out, rather than giving a gorilla vice grip and mincing the leaf, you got too much strength Otter! Yup, clearly your symptoms are mild, haha. It's all down to the interval time of impact, just squeeze it s l o w l y. If you can reduce the interval time of impact, then even a ping pong ball can smash thru wood like --> here. :)

Highya SO,

I remember about Brix readings a couple years ago. Brix of 12 is really good! Those should be some righteous buds!! Looks like she's stretching a good bit. It'll be fun to watch her mature!! Happy Smokin'

Well that's one way of looking at it!
I prefer to look away from myself at these at these times!

AAAH thanks! Technique is the thing! Next time!

From what I read it is. Stretch is coming to a slow now so I'm taking a few leaves a day to thin the mid out. There's a bunch of bud hiding under them!

LEAF THINNING? YES, NO WAIT, MAYBE, NO, OH ALL RIGHT UPDATE.

I am torn thinking about taking leaves from a plant. Normally I go through a grow taking very few. My plants know what to do generally and I let them. Not this one!
So I defoliated! Stretch is at a snails pace now so yesterday I took a good look at the leaf situation and went to town! Somewhere between a dozen and two dozen leaves were taken and some were tucked. She looks relieved and now able to accept light where it counts. I found one shoot yellow and cut it out. Not bad, thought there'd be more.

:thanks: for looking in.
