Cherries DubeLee In A S.I.P. - An LOS Grow

Are you feeding by amending the soil and just water down the tube ? I think if you tried both you will end up overfeeding or at least till you got the science figured out .
That probably has a lot to do with pot size. SO can likely get away with mostly water in his big EarthBox. My containers are much smaller so alternate feeding methods are required.

Highya Azimuth, guys,

SIP would be at its peak efficiency when used from start to finish
That was my first thought rather than transplanting. Just makes agricultural sense. I'm running my first SIP this spring to experiment with (lettuce, cukes, in a 2ft. X 6ft.).

This is a question all of us have pondered at some point. The only answer I can think of is to do what's needed. Or whatever works for you. I've not done SIP planting yet and understand both sides. I'll see what works for me in growing season. Happy Smokin'

Ha! I got all excited there until I got to the part about vegetables. :(

Stay tuned. I'm running that very experiment right with a plant just flipped. Organic soil and I'm only feeding thru the reservoir with my Jadam nutes, although I will still topdress with my castings and bug mix.

It seems to me a SIP would be at its peak efficiency when used from start to finish to avoid such an abrupt hormonal change, especially if you plan on topping. This means you either plant feminized, cloned, or be willing to take the L on a SIP wasted to Males.
I can say that my Purple Bubba Kush that went straight from RR to SIP showed me why this is probably the way I'll go from now on.
My plant never had a transition phase and at 21 days hasn't skipped a single beat.
I believe this has a lot to do with starting in a SIP and what you all spoke about as far as developing the right roots from the onset.
Skip the transition phase and go from a rapid rooter to SIP and stand back

So she can't see the piles of dirt and shit, and you can't see GDB's floating seed guts. Got it!

In a perfect world :) :hookah:

Have you fed microbes from the water below? I like to add a few things along the way and if a microbial/water ix can go through the system, that would be fantastic!

Good morning Bill! Studying for a stress test on Monday morning. I'm fine but since the covid last month I have a funny heartbeat and the Dr wants to make sure things are good. I feel fine. On the bike and walking though!

I'm glad your seeing the doc. :high-five:
Better safe than sorry.
I just took an IQ test for fun.
All it said was I failed.
Good luck on your test Monday my friend. :thumb:

Hehe, I don't think so! The new grow house is looking awesome Bill! You're just about there!
Did you see my new thread?
You must have a 420 Christmas pic you can add.
Leave a message if you like.

Talk soon.

Not yet, but I have plans to try my JMS through that route. My theory is that it should work fine as long as there is your normal mix down there at the reservoir level. In my prior trials, the issue I had was, I think, that I didn't have my mix, and therefore my soil life, down in the reservoir to help it incorporate into the rest of the container.

But, it's all theory until it is tried successfully.

What, no score? Usually they give you a score. 🤔

It wanted me to pay for my actual score but I got 95% right but failed.
There were only 20 questions.
But I'm not paying them.
Click bait I think Stacey called it.

Good Morning Everyone ☕😊
@StoneOtter It could very well be that you are driving the cups too fast for the rootball to keep up but if they are in solos still my 1st guess would be that the myco never took hold and my next guess would be its time to uppot. Are you running a high VPD already on them? I usually run things a bit slower in veg as you have 56 days minimum from seeds popping to flower starting, and thats plenty of time to get the foliage big enough and trained for flower so I mainly work on root growth, which is very dependant on the myco. Most problems I have encountered with seedlings is myco related or in the cup too long. Now that your in bigger pots I would just watch for a few days and see if it corrects itself. If your nervous about it give them a myco drench.

Thanks GEE. I'm going with they needed a pot up, they got driven pretty hard for the roots they had, These leaves are all nice and thick and shiny now with no def's. I can see on new growth. My VPD has been ~1.1 and I brought the light up a couple of inches. I have 6 nodes now and they're not very tall. From 6 inches to 9 I'm guessing. Pretty stubby on one of them!
I've never worked with myco like that. I'll keep it in mind. I just expect this soil to be myco friendly enough to work with at any given moment. 🤔 Hmmmm, I'll be back with new pics.

With how the roots develop for the SIP it makes efficiency sense to start from the beginning.

I can say that my Purple Bubba Kush that went straight from RR to SIP showed me why this is probably the way I'll go from now on.

Yep exactly what I was thinking. This also makes me believe a SIP would be a better option for autos as well. No transitions, no shocks, and you can plant straight into your final container. You’re not trying to aggressively form a root ball for max efficiency so it seems like a natural fit for autos. I think when I start my first autos I’ll use a SIP for them. This also alleviates having to water very carefully and specific like you do in big pots with small plants.

Good morning Bill! Studying for a stress test on Monday morning. I'm fine but since the covid last month I have a funny heartbeat and the Dr wants to make sure things are good. I feel fine. On the bike and walking though!

I had something similar.. Ever since COVID I’ve had a weird fluttering in my chest from time to time and can feel my blood pumping through my body. My blood pressure has been elevated recently though so I’ve had to start taking steps to cut it down. I’m really trying just to add some extra fruits and veggies alongside a bit more exercise because I really, really like salt lol.

SUNDAY FUNDAY WAITING FOR SEX!

Hello and the best to you today! The 3 starts are cooking with gas! To my surprise..........we have some sex action! I can't see any hairs yet so it's a no guess for me but they'll soon emerge if they're ladies! I'd gladly accept either of them! I'm so excited to be getting to the SIP soon!
Here they are. :woohoo:
First the group all together.
Now one

Plant

At a time.

Now for the excitement!!! The two tall ones are showing the hints of sex. I can't tell yet what these are but soon! looking for hairs to come out of these nubs next hopefully!

It's a good day to grow some weed and keep love in my heart!

No doubt in my mind!

I got this from an early episode of covid as well too and it went away over time I'm pretty sure. Another covid infestation and It's back again. Just say no to covid!
