ChemDawg D BX 3

bho freaks me out i blew myself up once after filling my fancy ciggy lighter it leaked enough into the room and i did not wait to spark the lighter and the can apparently was leaking so spark, flash,BOOM!! thank heavens the can was sitting on a table next to me and all the shards of can embedded in my arm and side rather than my chest and face, shattered the glass table and everything on it my pack of smokes was confetti my eyebrows grew back in a month and wounds and burns a bit longer..the mental scars will never scab over scared the living hell out of me and it was just 1 of the tiny white & red cans i cant even imaging the blast from all the juice in one of those giant cans those dudes on you tube are using and a 6 pack of them sitting nearby, crazy to me when all you need is ice water and a big gallon jar to make gumby , or bags for bubble,,
eek bad flashback
so have you tried the chemdawg/dog from hso or green house? those are pretty good i thought the green house version smelled exactly like the cd i had years ago and was quite potent, the hso smell was not as lemony pine fuel but also very potent, another one you might like is hso sour diesel #2 my most recent plant is outrageously potent and has that heavy duty fuel smell turned purple too! :thumb:

Wow that's scary glad you're okay. This so far is the only thing close to the original straight Chem strains I've done. I tried Reserva Privada's OG Kush as well as the next 2 breeders version of it, and didn't like any of the 3 (too weak of a buzz). I must have gotten a crap pheno of SD#2 by HSO; I though that weed sucked too. Maybe someday I'll get me GHS's Chemdog and do a run of it if I don't find or breed something I like a lot.

So far out of the 12 plants I see male parts on 4 and 2 look like certain females. Out of everything I've grown, the Sativa or Sativa dominant strains seem to show sex later than other plants (for instance, my Old Timers Haze clone has been under 12/12 for 9 weeks and 3 days and now is officially showing its first hairs believe it or not). So as a second move towards heading this breeding project towards Sativa genes, I think I should try to pick a female that shows later than the others (if it is distinguishable, I'll do the same with picking the male). I don't know what Cannaventure Seeds bred into the Chem D clone (what his garlic pheno is, if that's what he used as a father which seems to be his pattern), I don't know how he did the backcrosses and to which parent or in what generation he did them, I've never had a true cut of Chem D to compare it to, and I'm not an experienced breeder or grower, plus I'm a chimp, so I have a lot going against me. These 12 plant groupings don't leave much to choose from, either.
Post more pics soon.....

Here's a couple. Chop day! :)

They're a little canary yellow when I chop, but you're right b.real they do tend to smoke smooth like that.

I have 4 males, 4 females and 4 undetermined plants @ this point. 2 were planted late, so I should see something in the next 2 days. I can then put the remaining plants in a different unit under this same light. I need to be able to kill 4 males to fit them in the small unit, however. So far no hermies:

Here's the CDDBX3 clone I put into my 2-layer super soil (just starting to feed off the nutes):

I put the CDDBX3 clone I'll be chopping in 2 weeks into the same unit the one I just chopped was in. I'll try to get a pic up of it tonight.

Upon examination, all of these plants I'm breeding out now have the double serrated leaf edges. Some are exhibiting triple nodes (allopolyploidy; the result of excessive hybridization). This may be due to the fact that I'm turning back what the original breeder partially stabilized towards one of the parent strains. It could be many things, including things I'm unaware of (I read something about a "terminator gene" people breed into hybrids to keep others from breeding their work out; don't know if there's any truth to that). Here are the first of the father rejects:

Uneven branching and too many double serrated edge leaves

It is further along than most of the males, which could mean that it is Indica dominant

0021670.JPG

Leaves are too wide and branching is also uneven

It's pretty far along too

This one is an allopolyploid; no Dad here

I'm down to 9 plants and I guess the Dad is going to be the least effed up one of the bunch :(
I have a halfway decent looking Mom I might pick though..... :)

ok im lost for words except
Happy FreeWeed day Pc and a Chronic Weekend to you :thumb:

:)
I culled the 4th male this morning for the same reason the last one above got it. Triple nodes on the secondary branches. I don't know if I'm following the right logic here, but I'm thinking that the plants which show the least mutation might be the strongest genetically (at least in terms of being able to handle chromosome pairing when hybridized with something else). I think this generation is f3 due to the instability I'm seeing, which makes sense seeing as how it's my 3rd crossing of these, and there's no chance that I am following his work perfectly (that would have been f4, f5, and IBL1?). Well, I'm in it for another year before I get to start doing the same to Rezdog's Chem D v1.1 it looks like.

you ever try to let one of these females grow out and see if its any good?

Every generation I breed of these I take all the unwanted males and kill them, along with the hermies. I grow out all the females that I don't pick as the mother in a separate unit, so not only do I get to see if it's any good, I have all the others to take a clone from (in case at the end one of the females turns out better smoke than the mother I picked earlier). I keep some pollen from the father each time too, but I haven't had to use it yet. And I keep all the seeds from the prior generation until the current one is done and has viable seeds.
Oh by the way everything I've bred out so far and smoked hasn't been super killer pot, but it has a nice yield.

I'll take a pic of the mother I chose later. No triple nodes, decent branching, 5 bladed leaves coming off the secondary branches, all around good health, and when I break a leaf off, it smells like a slightly mushy (from being too old and starting to rot) onion. Still holding out on the father.
And after almost 3 years of being a grower, I think for the first time I'll be able to give an entire dry weight without having sampled any :) The CDDBX3 clone I chopped a few days ago is getting there, and it's because (you guessed it) I GOT WEED!!!!!

That's an achievement in itself Chimp. I hope I can hold out. My stash is getting low & I promised myself I wasn't going to dial my guys number this month.

I got the lame excuse "You can't make any money off the good $hit" from the brickweed dealers too many times so I put them to the curb years ago. Tired of feeding their kids as well as their overblown egos, not to mention paying for their poor habits and pricey belongin's with my hard earned money. :)

Chimp, I just supply my own thirsty cannabis habit. I never looked at it that way but I can't get mad at him. Everyone's got to make a living.

You've probably had better experiences with humans than I have, B A R. I haven't been as lucky.
To tell the truth I don't mess with those corner boys. I've been using the same guy for nearly 10 yrs.

Thurston Howell III and Jed Clampett could pool their funds and still not be able to afford as much high quality cannabis as it takes to quench my thirst for it, at least not at today's dispensary prices. ;)

My last April 20th doob would have run $1,680.00..... :(
LOL WOW!
