Chef De Green Does It All: Reveg, Clones, Autos & Photos

Go little Sour Bubba. I've heard lots of great things about that strain. Hope she does well for you.

Hey everyone,

it’s been about a week since I last updated, and somethings have happened. The Mrs and I ultimately decided not to move quite yet. We’re still keeping our eyes peeled for a better, more affordable spot.
That said, I’m stuck in my small area for the time being. so i decided to ship off almost all of the clones and the CnC moms to a friend’s house.

I plan to get flowering going pretty soon here cause my big NL girl is going to over grow me soon. I just need to set up a little box for the Sour Bubba and the SP and NL clones.

here’s the pictures
This DDa girl is crazy branchy. She just spits tops out everywhere. I’ve been trimming away the small dinky ones and leaving only the ones that get big and strong quick.

QPaxTDa coming along great, I’m thinking she’s got like 43-48 days left. I’m going to try to put my foot on the gas a bit in regards to the nutrient strength. When she finally dried out her lowest leaves went yellow and it seems to be potentially moving upward. I gave her ~700ppm this watering, I’ll keep an eye on how she progresses. I’ll probably give her 1:winkyface:2 protekt:foliage-pro:bloom up to 1000ppm for the next feeding.

Star Pupil is looking great and nearly ready to flower. I’ve been spreading her branches out with tie-downs.

The Northern Lights had to be super cropped because she was just too large to flip to flower straight up. She could get to over 4 feet and that would not work for the height in my tent.
I’m bending her top most tops outward and covering them with fan leaves. Simultaneously tucking other fans leaves to expose tops that are down just a couple inches.

just a shot of the 3 CnC clones. 2 GF and 1 PG.
The Sour Bubba is looking stunning. I’ve actually been feeding her ~500ppm since her first watering with true leaves.

That’s a wrap.

Edit; I realized I didn’t give any explanation about anything. So I’m editing that.

The family is looking very nice and healthy. Your DDA is a strange one with all that branching at one node.

Thanks Beez. Yeah she’s odd looking all right. She wants to do 6 branches per node... but she’s seems to be growing decently now. ive been trying to speed up her dry/wet cycle by keeping the tent warm and windy.the wind really does wonders to help speed the dry/wet cycle.

So I’ve decided that I will remove the star pupil from her bag and add 2-3 new inches of soil on the bottom. Her bag is not full, so if I remove her from her bag, I’ll be able to add new soil without having to cut her roots.

Merry Christmas,Chef!
I hope you and yours have the best one ever!
First time I've been to your journal, but I'll be back...

Welcome!! Glad to have you!
:woohoo:

I know what you mean about keeping up, it’s not easy. Especially with so many talented growers doing awesome journals.

Merry Christmas, and may you and yours enjoy a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year.

Thank you so much Old Salt. Have yourself a merry Christmas. I hope this coming year brings you and your loved ones joy and laughter, and is free from stress.

Hiya Chef...Merry Christmas!
hey there Mr. S, welcome! Merry Christmas!

Thanks @Reave! And thanks for following along with me on my journal! May your Christmas be special, and may all your Christmas brownies contain the special ingredient!

I've been in and out all day. Mama keeps me running on Christmas day. I thought I had popped in here last nigh to with you @ChefDGreen and everyone a wonderful and safe Holidays.

merry Christmas Beez and thank you for the well wishes. Where’s she got you runnin to if everything’s closed up?!

No, not shopping. We volunteered to serve lunch at our church's "soup" kitchen and that I enjoy. Then it was off to visit this person and that person for an hour here and a half hour there. This I find boring and taxing. Thankfully it's only Christmas one day a year and I've learned to put up with it.

Update November 12, 2019

First things first, the DDas I planted didnt take at all.. I’m not going to try to pop another one until the perlite comes in for a hempy solo cup.. I’m pretty sad about that.

Secondly, the star pupil reveg is going well. She’s putting out these really odd little growth balls.

little curly lime green balls Of growth.. really weird. she’s also got plenty of growth tips coming up, so that’s great news. It will still be a few weeks to a month before she looks more like a normal vegging plant though.

Here’s the seedlings, coming along great.

From left to right they are God’s Gift, QPxTDa, and Northern Lights. The solo cup above has a Chem Angel seed I just planted today.

The clones look the same still. Not dying, but not growing roots yet either. I think I can see tiny little white bumps forming on the stem of the first clone though. Maybe by next week it will have roots.

All the talk about a dome for my cloner had me thinkin. So I went to the store looking for either a turkey pan clear plastic lid, or even a Tupperware that’s the right size. No such luck. I need something in the 9-10”x6-7” range and I couldn’t find anything like that... I guess my cloner is just an awkward size!

Also the talk of humidity made me realize my humidity is really low in general for veg. So I put a towel in a bowl of water hanging off my box fan. The humidity has gone from high 20s to mid 50s. So that’s a huge improvement.

Hey bud,

Could you please explain to me the purpose of revenge after shes already begun to flower if you have a sec?

Is it as self explanatory as I think that you can harvest a plant and then just re-grow and re- harvest so you dont need to start a new seed or is there something more to it? Will the end result be just as flavorful/potent?

Thanks

Thanks for dropping in dsrkmatter! It is that simple, except I didn’t reveg when she began flower. I grew her out and put her all the way through flower. Then I harvested, but I left a few buds on her and put her back in 18/6. After a couple of weeks she started to grow branches again.

While it’s true I didn’t need to start a new seed to get this girl ready to flower again, the purpose of revegging her to was save the genetics. I’m not sure what other star pupil phenos there are. I didn’t want to lose this girl cause her flowers are the densest I’ve ever seen, and she smokes very nice. Whether or not the flowers she produces this time around will be just as flavorful and potent, im really not sure. I’m curious about that myself... truthfully i wasnt sure I was going to even flower her out again. I only wanted to take clones off of her, and I did that successfully. I’ve got a clone I’ll be using as a star pupil mother.. but at this point the reveg plant is big and bushy and sitting on like 4 inches of fresh soil, so I might as well see what kind of yield she’ll give me.

thanks for the questions!

Oh nice! Try your hand at the food service industry eh?... takin a tour in my world. It can be a lot of fun. I’m positive my wife would have me doing the same if we knew anyone around here lol

So @ChefDGreen I was talking with a buddy who uses the re-veg process fairly frequently. I had a few questions about the process. I didn't remember he had said this till I read your post above. You said your plant is in 18/6 lighting. My friend said he runs his in (a minimum) 20/4 hour but usually at 24/0 lighting until the plant "snaps out of it" and starts to grow normal again. Just something to consider.
