I am glad what you are doing is working. 🍋
Me too! This has been a tough nut for me to crack b/c I knew I absolutely needed to solve this before the heat came on, and I could never have solved this without lots of help from all the wonderful people here at 420mag! :thanks:

Now if I can only keep things going in this direction... 🤔 Fingers crossed... 🤞

My Wild Lady girl measures 32" today!
My RVDV girl measures 32" today!
My Durban Poison girl measures 29" today!

I guess you can say things are really "jumping" in my garden now, thanx to the fact that we now have all day sun, from dawn to dusk. Wow!
:D
I have more to say on this on my other thread: Wild Lady is Struggling.

And some pics from earlier today:

Growth, FIMming and a Variegated Leaf

Well, the Wild Lady is sure launching for the sky 🚀. This morining around 8:15AM I measured her and she grew another inch over night! So now she's 33" tall with 11 nodes. I'm counting the nodes that she currently has, as I cut the lower 3 nodes clean off weeks ago... I never like them branches too low to the ground, and they seem to steal resorurces from the higher branches and main cola. Speaking of nodes, there's a full 5 inches between nodes 7 'n 8!!! Here's a pic of her:

Fimming Q:
So with all this stunning growth, I dicided to FIM now, rather than wait any longer. Did I FIM her correctly? I tried to follow what's shown here as a guide. Please take a look at these pics and let me know.

A Variegated Leaf:
Take a look at this variegated leaf I found on my RVDV girl:

I find variegated leaves quit interesting, don't you?

Garden Update

My Wild Lady is doing good during this current warmup... 87º f yesterday and 86º f today. Her FIM looks good too. Here she is from this morning:

And now it's time for me to show you my rescued Purple Haze that I brought back from death's door, after my dog dug her up and trampled her:

In the above shot you'll also notice another plant to the right of the Purple Haze, that's a clone of Master Kush. She immediatly went into bloom after placing her outside, so I'm now using urea to boost her back into veg. Both are in the same hole in the ground, so both are receiving this boost of N. They're both small, so this will help them to at least get to a reasonable size... I hope... 🤞

Fire Nextdoor!!!

IMG_7543 2.JPG

So, just as I was sittin' down to lunch, my dog kept bumping me with her nose and stepping away several times as if to tell me something was wrong. I was focusing on my hot meal that I had just prepared and wasn't listening to her, but she wouldn't stop. This is SO not like her, so I looked towards the direction she was indicating and that's when I saw telltale signs of smoke in my living room. I jumped up and followed her down the hallway, seeing the smoke getting thicker and thicker. As I entered my room I realized my window swamp cooler was pumping all this smoke in from outside... I open my backdoor and saw huge flames coming from my neighbor's house. There were two other neighbors trying to put out the flames with weak water pressure from garden hoses. Instantly I remembered I had a good nozzle on the end of a fully pressurized hose that was coiled up at the bottom of my steps. I rushed over and started blasting flames with far more water than the others were able to, and with our combined efforts we were able to knock the fire down before the fire trucks ever got there.

Other than the obvious property damage, no-one was hurt except for the dog that was left alone inside, (s)he did suffer smoke inhalation, and last report the dog is recovering. :)

With all the commotion, I never noticed how my Wild Lady was doing through all this, as I was way too busy attending to everything else. Hours later, I looked around in my garden and noticed this :

Today, she's doing so much better! :yahoo:

And now for some much easier things to report:

My Wild Lady is at 48"
My RVDV is at 47"
My Durban Poison is at 42"

Words cannot express just how thankful I am that I was spared this tragedy. Had I not been home to help put out those flames, my entire home would've been lost along with both dogs; neighbor's and mine. 🙏:):Namaste:

Quick Height Update

My Wild Lady is now 57" tall. And I also measured at the FIM and that spot is now at 45.5". That's 12"+ that she's grown below the FIM! I'm like WTF ?
My RVDV is now 59" tall. This one's even taller! OMG!
My Durban Poison is now 53" tall... projected to be 7.5' without any pruning, so I'm leaving her untouched.
And my Purple haze, that my dog tried to kill, is now 32" tall... finally!

Originally I thought, with Summer Solstice upon us later this week, I'd be OK with the height of my Table Mountain girls, but now with all this continued growth, I'm beginning to wonder if I should've topped instead of FIMmed.

That's all I got for this post. I'll catch up in a couple days with more pics and stuff to post as I had an absolutely fun weekend with friends out of town for Father's Day. Pool party with lot's of weed... And I'm always amazed that my humble backyard grow still impresses the people I share it with at gatherings like this. Mainly because this group of friends plunk down top dollar for some very expensive weed. Not say'n mine's better, but it certainly holds its own, even against some truly "Top Shelf" bud.

Pics & Notes & Observations:

1st, let's start with a pic of each of my girls:

The clone of Master Kush is in there somewhere, but is way too small to be of any real benefit at harvest. I'll include a pic of her in a future post:

I've taken some inspiration from @InTheShed and have removed all the lower branches off my lower branches. In the past I've only done this sporadically, mainly because I didn't know any better...now I do. Thank you Shed... :thanks:

I've been eating many of these trimmings and have noticed differences in each of the plants. While all the cannabis plants I've eaten have a minty bite to them, I've noticed that the Wild Lady has a much stronger bite on the palate. So much so, I had to take a break from eating her trimmings.

I just realized today that I haven't been reporting on the feeding schedule for my girls. This is because I haven't been feeding them for something like a month. This is in an attempt to slow down the rapid growth they've been experiencing. Apparently, there's plenty of food in my soil recipe, and they certainly don't seem to be lacking for anything as they continue to grow. Next year I'm cutting way back on what I amend my soil with, which will save me some cash as well. 💰

That's it for now,
I Love My Girls... :smokin:

Damn on that fire but nice work putting it out and the excellent work by your doggo! And the scaffolding looks spot-on. :welldone:

I've been checking on my summer grow pair every day and plucking even the tiniest shoots along the lower stems. They're clean as a whistle!

Update On Systemica™... and more:

OK, so I've been using @Sierra Natural Science Systemica™ on my plants for a number of weeks now, but haven't been reporting on it. I'm changing that with this update.

1st a little background.
Every single year my garden is plagued with many different types of insects. I have tried a great many things over the years to deal with the recurring infestations and the only thing that's helped was continued and heavily repeated applications of neemseed oil combined with either dish soap or insecticidal soap as a foliar spray. The problem is, I never completely eliminated all of the bugs; especially the persistent black scale. Plus, the fact that I've actually worn out 2 sprayers over the years. Oh and heaven forbid if I ever skipped a spray day (!) as they'd all come back with avengeance! And then it seemed nearly impossible to get rid of them! And on top of all that, you can't really spray neemseed oil during flower, forcing me to switch to other products with limited results.

Enter Systemica™ from Sierra Natural Science.
The results are simply amazing! At 1st I wasn't quite sure if this was going to work as advertised, as early progress was slow. But the label did state this was the case and that full results would come over time, so I decided to be patient and ride it out.

As it turns out, I didn't have to wait long... by the 2nd watering, I saw a very dramatic drop in all visible insects. But by the 3rd or 4th watering, I still saw enough black scale to remain concerned, so I clipped off a couple of leaves and took them to my local Hydro Shop guy to view under his digital microscope to get a better idea of just what was going on. To the surprise of he and I, we saw no live black scale. The black scale that we did see on the plants were dead. Some were flaking off and others had holes in them where you could see the green leaf right through the holes. My Hydro Shop guy could not believe his eyes, as he had much stronger doubts on this product working so completely. I've been bringing clippings into his shop every week or so and he continues to state just how impressed he is by this product because of how clean from insects my plants are. Needless to say, I am a very happy customer using Systemica™ in my garden!

I simply add 1 tbsp per gallon of water, watering my plants as usual. I have also discovered that this product is quite compatible when mixing with other products I've used, such as: Monosilicic acid, Chicken Soup for the Soil, Terpinator®, GeoFlora Veg/Bloom, and liquid kelp plant food.

New Pics & Height Report:

Wild Lady 5' 8"

RVDV 6' 2"

Durban Poison 5' 10"

Purple Haze 4' 4"

Master Kush clone, mere inches tall

A Good Bug!

It's terrific that you found something that really eats through the black scale, and it's a sponsor as well! :thumb:
Yes, and it's so easy too! Just add to your water and pour into the soil. :)
One thing to keep in mind when the plants are covered with pistils is that it's 58% oil (plus water and surfactants) if that matters to you.
It sure does... But it sounds like you're referring to spraying... No? This is a soil drench. Just 1 tbsp per gallon and water as usual. Easy peasy. :)
I Love My Girls... :smokin:

Oh that's completely different, thanks!
As a very friendly  rib: I'm a little surprised U didn't pick up on this by the name... Systemica™ is systemic. :D

And that's what I love about this product... No more continuous spraying! So many safe and natural products made for controlling insects have some kind of oil as a large percentage of the total ingredients. Frequent applications tend to interfere with the stomata of the plant, thereby causing symptoms of heat stress. With Systemica™, I am free of all this and my plants are very happy. :yummy:
