CBD BudMan Outdoor Grow: Table Mountain Sativa Company & Seedsman - 2024

Try and keep a few emergency supplies on hand :Namaste:
LOL... I see that now, but the thing is, I've never had this happen before... not like this anyway. I mean, it's not like I was bottle feeding them. However, I have an idea as to where I went wrong. A little more than 2 weeks before, I had scratched some blood meal into the soil of the dixie cups of all the girls, thinking it would give them a boost and that it would be slow to breakdown, so no problems. I then put some GeoFlora Veg in all the cups about a week later. Again, thinking this would be gentle enough because it's not the bottle nutes. I am so stunned at this outcome.

Not that I'm ever going to forget my mistake here... but can you give me a list of things that you would call "emergency supplies" to keep on hand?
So so sorry buddy.
It's still April, do you have another bean?
Yes I do. Over the years, I've gathered way too many seeds. So yeah I got lots of beans for sure.

These are things I've learned to keep on hand and others I've just been able to accumulate over the years.:Namaste:
I'm also in B.F. nowhere 😅;)And have little access to a grow store.
So I am lucky to be able to accumulate this stuff.
I'd definitely start with the emergency nutrient/ root-recovery stuff then choose what you think you might need from there.
Talk soon.

Thank you @Bill284 :thanks:
Wow! That's a list and a half, for sure. I see you're always prepared. The 1st 3 items are what I don't keep on hand... and now I will. I already have nearly all the rest, except for the indoor grow stuff like lights, etc. So, for the Superthrive, B1, and Kelp Extract, how would've you used them in my situation?

Thank you :thanks: in advance for all your help and support:adore:

Replacements:

So, now that the White Widow is dead 😢, I've decided to go with Purple Haze. Because I only have 2 seeds left from 2018, and because they are 6 years old, I've decided to germinate both of them, just incase one doesn't pop. And if they both pop, I just might put them both in the same hole. Who knows.

Updates to follow,
I Love My Girls... :smokin:

Apologies for taking so long. :Namaste:
B1 or kelp should be in with every feed or watering to start. Terrific for plant health.
Also good for a sick girl.
But Superthrive also can be given weekly is great for a sick plant.
Doesn't happen often but any issues I go stret for it.
Mix recommended dosage in water and give a drink.:thumb:
Easy peasy.
You pop another seed?
How's everything going?

Garden Update:

Well, my new little Purple Haze girls are now in dixie cups. I can sure tell when I don't sprout by the cycle of the moon as they are much slower to get going. I'm doing this to replace the White Widow that I lost and didn't want to wait the additional weeks for the next New Moon. Here they are:

And here's the rest of the Sativa girls doing just fine:

If you look closer, you can see that somebody's been nibbling on my RVDV girl. It's been a few days now, with no further damage after spraying with Neem Seed oil, so I think the critter's gone... for now:

My Wild Lady is the fastest growing of all the girls. She sure looks good here:

Durban Poison is doing good as well:

I was discussing what had happened to my White Widow girl with my local Hydro shop, and the owner said that South African landrace Sativa plants are accustomed to richer soils in their natural habitat, and this is why I didn't loose them with the early, heavy feeding of blood meal, GeoFlora Veg and Chicken Soup of the Soil. I certainly don't know about these things, so I don't know what's true and what's not. Does anyone have more info on this, one way or the other? Not trying to make anyone "wrong" or anything, I'm just trying to learn. So, any information that you may like to share on this is welcome. I especially would like to hear what @Table Mountain Sativa Co has to say on this... if you want.

That's it for today,
I Love My Girls... :smokin:

The soils where those two come from is pretty fertile. I would say they like it hotter than usual but not over the top.
:thanks:@Lerugged so much for this. I like this because it helps to confirm what's been going on in my little garden. Again, thank you. :thumb:

My TMSC's really came around when I placed them on heat mats. They need the warmer soil. It fixed my entire grow. Once the roots filled in the heat wasn't needed but they struggled in the beginning. I set the heat mats for 78F, and when the soil temp got over 70F they exploded.

Bugs In The Garden Update:

Looks like I got some bugs in my garden. 👾 Took some pics to my local hydro store guy yesterday and he agreed. Because I saw 3 tiny red specks crawling around, we suspected spider mites. Here's the pics:

Got some Take Down Garden Spray-RTU and blasted them bugs! ☠️

Another Picture Day!

While all my sativas are showing real growth now, both of the @Table Mountain Sativa Co girls are really jumping out of their pots. Take a look:

Wild Lady is at 19" today:

Durban Poison is about 14" (ish)

RVDV is at 18" today

Right now, I'm working on getting them all into the ground... finally. 👨‍🌾

Mixed News:

Good news is, all my girls are now in the ground! Yay! :yahoo:

Bad news is, my dog got into my garden and totally dug up the 2 Purple Haze girls that were supposed to go into the spot originally for my Frisian Dew, if you'll remember. I didn't discover the damage until the next morning and replanted them both as soon as I found them. One has sense died, :rip:😢 and the other is barely hanging on.

I've obtained a clone of Master Kush to go into that spot. And yes, I've now taken stronger measures to keep my dog out of my garden! Needless to say: I'm NOT happy with my dog right now!!!

A call for help. I have a favor to ask: Because these sativas are completely new to me, I am totally baffled to figure out what's going on with my Wild Lady from @Table Mountain Sativa Co . If you have the time, and the knowledge, please take a look at the link I've provided at the start of this paragraph.
Thank you all... :thanks::adore:

Since she is now in the ground, I suspect your issues will resolve themselves. I was petty sure it was too much N and too much water. Overwatering is pretty difficult outdoors so that should fix that issue. The N will likely get used up quickly as she starts to take off. She will grow incredibly quickly once she gets her roots settled.
Has she grown since been put into the ground?
otherwise they look great. yeah, dogs can wreck a grow quicksnap.

Update with better news

I believe my Wild Lady is finally "out of the woods" so to speak concerning her severe wilting. For your convenience, here's a link to her recovery. Growing new (to me) and different cannabis cultivars always has a learning curve. Part of this is learning what the particular plant wants/needs, and part of this is learning what not to do when attempting to replicate the native environment for a given plant. Next time, I will use half of the perlite with the Wild Lady cultivar, as she seems to prefer a wetter soil than others in my garden.
Here are the sativa girls this morning:

:thanks: Too much N is certainly correct, I agree with you. :thumb: But on the overwatering, I'm not so sure, as her symptoms only got worse once placed into the ground. Take a look at this pic, and keep in mind that the soil at her roots felt moist with my finger into the soil to my second knuckle:

As soon as I added more water, she started to recover as seen here.
The N will likely get used up quickly as she starts to take off.
Yes, indeed. And I'll be more mindful about the amounts of N in the future with this one. I am very thankful for your advice on this... :thanks:
She will grow incredibly quickly once she gets her roots settled.
Has she grown since been put into the ground?
You are so right about her "taking off". Because of my focus on her wilting problems, that only got worse after going into the ground, I hadn't taken notice of how much she's grown. After reading your Q about her growth, I went outside and measured just now, and OMG!!! she's grown 9 inches since I measured her on the 12th. 9" in 12 days is more than I expected during all the stress she's been going through. So, to answer your Q directly, yes, she has continued to grow after placing her into the ground. :D
otherwise they look great. yeah, dogs can wreck a grow quicksnap.
I'm no longer leaving my dog at home for long periods of time while I'm gone, even though I've boarded up the places in the fence that she's broken through. Luckily, I have two older neighbor ladies that simply love to babysit my dog when I'm gone. :yahoo:

My Wild Lady continues to struggle. Here's a pic of her this morning:

Everyone else is doing just fine, even with the very same sprayings:

Holiday Update

My Wild Lady is finally showing some good improvement. As you may know, I've been chasing down some pretty urgent drooping symptoms resembling heat stress. I've been trying a few different things and some wonderful people here :thanks: have been really helping me brainstorm to get to the bottom of all this. Today, I think we've turned the corner on resolving this issue. Here she is today:

And, yes, she's still a bit droopy. But now that I'm actually able to get positive results from what I'm doing, I now know the direction of where to go with my efforts in the future. This gives me real hope, as I honestly felt I might loose her as the heat continues. We can easily get 110º f and more, during the summer heat here. And no cannabis plant that I've ever grown has a chance in our summer heat if she's wilting/drooping in mere 77º f.
