Carnival: A Community Grow Experience

Good afternoon everyone.

Before I run to the store for some sweet peppers for a nice tuna salad, I wanted to drop a quick update on the Carnival members of my current brood. :battingeyelashes:

I think my hempy girl is another sativa-influenced plant. :yahoo: Carnival 4 is now 67 days old and 9 days into flip.

Here's a side-by-side comparison. They certainly look close, don't they?

Carnival 3 is now 92 days old and 42 days into her flip. She reminds me of a bunch of children trying to squeeze through the doorway at the same time. :laughtwo:

*contented sigh*

IMG_73276.JPG

Carnival 3.1 is coming along nicely, but I need to top her soon.

IMG_73367.JPG

I have all this going on way up here...

IMG_73376.JPG

...and all this going on way down here.

IMG_73384.JPG

There's too much space between the ends. I'm just trying to decide where to clip it off.

IMG_73417.JPG

Any suggestions? :hmmmm:

The youngest hasn't sprung roots yet.

Ahhh.... my guides have arrived. :laughtwo: Strange how this clone grew like a seedling, isn't it?

I've been looking at it, and I'm thinking if I take the top cut that'll leave me 8-10 good cola sites to encourage to catch up with some creative LST.

Let's see what she has to show us now.

Thank you gentlemen. :hugs: :hugs:

Graytail, I forgot to mention earlier that I was working in the tent with the Carnivals and when I turned the hempy pot she brushed up against the kit girl and the smell that burst forth was unbelievable!!! I don't remember any of my previous plants having this strong a lime scent at this point in development, and it's the strongest fragrance any of mine have developed at all.

I'm really excited about drying this on low and slow. :slide:

Just a quick update. Just a hair under 4oz dried. Not bad. I think the next one will be bigger. :) :circle-of-love::peace:

Well done Mr. Groomer. :goodjob:

I wish I'd get just under 4 oz. I'll keep working at it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

16 days ago, Sue said my 18" Carnival would "Blow up for me." Today she is over 50" tall and still growing (buds not yet set.)

Make us proud Rad. Damn!! :thedoubletake:

Looking good, Dave! Excited to see her all cleaned up! :)

She is MAJOR bushy even though she has been well trimmed. When she comes down, I will be trying the slow cold method in the fridge with all the big buds. The little stuff, popcorn and trim will all go into fresh harvest oil. I may experiment with using coconut oil.:circle-of-love::peace:

Another Carnival to join the party. 17 days after being clipped from her mother Carnival 4.1 is ready to be potted up.

I'll be using the Grow Better nutes I won in the MOTY contest. It doesn't require pH adjustment, something I can really get behind. :battingeyelashes:

IMG_76236.JPG

I started her out at 1/4 strength, to increase with each watering. Let's see what this nute line can accomplish in the hands of a novice. Well.... I don't know that I can claim novice status anymore with bottles, can I? Ok, I'll stop thinking of myself as a newbie. :cheesygrinsmiley:

The carnival clone planted (on June 1) in a 1-gallon pot sprinkled with Doc Bud Roots!

Yesterday, (10 days later) the roots have hooked up fine.

She is growing so well, I started her on nutes. (Doc Bud's)

20170611_154314-11.jpg

After a few months of experience, I only run nutes at 3 strengths - 1 gallon in veg (2ml bottom soaked), 7 gallon veg (5ml top watered), and 7 gallon flower(7 ml top watered.) Clones seem to handle nutes a lot quicker than seedlings.

She's beautiful Rad. Such lovely leaves. :battingeyelashes:  They're so delicate at this stage.

Nice system. How much water do you use per pot, by your estimate? I realized today I'd fallen out of the habit of using DeStress on a regular basis, and suddenly I remembered Graytail telling me why it was a good idea to use it on schedule, so I started today with the whole crew.

I have 6 plants in soil right now, 11 plants total, and four of them are Carnivals. :slide:

And today's star, Carnival 4 (Day 76, flip + 18). In a few days I'll take a clone and force it back to veg.

IMG_76319.JPG

This branch right here is my candidate.

IMG_76304.JPG

This one is really spikey. :laughtwo: she was terribly yellow so I started adding a little drench every other day with epsoms, and gave her an Epsoms foliar today as well.

Her color improved overnight.

I'm one happy camper. :blunt:

The daughter was by earlier, commenting on her improvement in mood. It's not a drastic change, just a noticable shift in the way she views chores that she'd typically avoid, but now finds herself doing without thinking about it. The avoidance syndrome appears to have dropped away. :slide: We note the change occurring at the time she increased her dose of her CBD Critical Cure capsules and started nibbling on Carnival bownies. We suspect it mostly the Carnival.

Good, a strain I'm certain I can keep us supplied s keeping everyone supplied can be tricky. :green_heart:

Y'know Sue, if you want Carnival as a keeper for awhile, I think a few more seeds would be worth it. This pheno you have annoys the crap out of me. Sheesh, she has this resting bitchface, right? C'mon baby, cheer up once in awhile, no?

The produce is good but ... mannnnn.

I dunno - gotta be the pheno. :hmmmm:

:laughtwo: I hear ya Graytail. I'm waiting to test the mother. If she doesn't scream "KEEPER!" I'll be retiring that genetics with 3.1. I kinda messed her up cutting her veg short by a month. I have more seeds. The pheno that's Carn 4 looks promising. I'll be taking another clone from her in a couple days. Think I'll put this one in soil. I'll have some cooked when she's ready to be potted.

Neither one of those specimens is gonna get me the coveted POTM, will they?
