Carmen's Winter Autos With ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro!

Sometimes I think there is an improvement in G1 and sometimes I stare at it and think it looks the same as it has for the past week.

Guys are we sure this Parmesan is an auto flower? I mean the flowers have barely any pistils. It's 7 weeks old. I mean seriously, will these flowers finish in 5 weeks? It's due date for harvest was 11 August 👀

G2 is happily sunning itself away under the @ViparSpectra XS1500 Pros!

Happy growing to you and enjoy the weekend!
Looking happy n healthy with good color 👍top notch work my friend

A Question About Light

@StoneOtter Earlier we talked about the @ViparSpectra XS1500 Pros a bit in the swick thread. I want to follow up on that please.

I started my seedlings at 25 %, then moved them up to 50 %. They are vegging now and two days ago as you know, I raised them to 75 % but have subsequently reduced them to 50 % and to recover from what could have been too sudden a boost of extra light. Maybe the lights were too intense and too close all at once because overnight, the Parmesan showed the calcium deficiency and the Gelato showed some yellow flecks on the upper leaves.

However, another thing to consider is that they are doing a pre-flower stretch and maybe what they needed was a boost of microbial activity. I gave them microbes and microbe food with their calmag and all looks well several hours later.

I am going to raise the plants back onto their swicks when I feel they have reverse wicked sufficient moisture into the towels. That'll raise them back to where they were before I increased the light intensity two days ago. What I want to know from you, is how and when to increase the intensity back to 75 % and how to establish the optimal distance from the plants at 75 % please. Still no pistils yet.

Anybody else who has used the XS1500 Pro lights please feel free to contribute with your ideas and experience.
Have you tried the photon app to adjust light accordingly

I have not faltered since this app, Carmen. Thanks for mentioning it to her buddy!

Thank you Valerie, it's good to see you. I'm very happy with their progress. I haven't grown autos this size before. The light is doing a wonderful job of raising these babies :) I can't wait to see how they bud up!

Thank you both. I have used Photone successfully. I lost my phone to the washing machine, so I am using a phone that doesn't support Photone now. However I believe that if one sticks to the instructions in the guide book, the right amount of PPFD is achieved thusly.

My third plant is getting 100 % in veg and it is the same distance from the light as the other two in flower. Apart from one or two tiny little spots on leaves, that plant is hunky dory. Of course I don't know what the PPFD is, but it's working according to the guide and I am happy with that this time.

They are coming along very nicely @Carmen Ray

Interesting selection on strains, I may need to look into them.
Thanks.

Tok..
Thanks Tok, It's great to see you. The Parmesan was a freebie with a purchase and the Gelatos come from @Herbies Seeds. I am pretty stoked with both. The first Gelato has been through some stuff and is still flowering. The second Gelato I am excited for.

That's one great thing about the booklet that comes with these Vipar lights! It's a complete light guide to growing weed as far as intensity goes!

I'm such a classy guy (and humble too). Not once have I said, "I told you so," as relates to your initial doubts about the Parmesan! :)

See the leaves in prayer position? I am feeling much happier about these plants now. I think they've made their transition to reactivate top feeder roots. The Gelato auto 1 is scarred in her leaves, but is looking so much better I think. I didn't take pics of G2 tonight because I wanted to focus on my flowering canopies. The G2 plant is growing nicely though and I'll show her off again tomorrow or later, depending on how OCD I am about it 😅

As always friends, thank you for taking the time to visit me and my plants :circle-of-love:

Thank you for your sage words in times of doubt GDB. Your words count big time  I am happy about the plants today but annoyed a bit because my fan died. Fortunately it's cool weather but I'll have to get a replacement tomorrow.

Friggin' fans. I'm sick of buying them!

Fat trunks, flat canopies, and an excellent recovery with the top watering you've been doing. All systems go now, and it's been very nice of your plants to cooperate and put off really flowering until you sorted it out!
Thank you Shed.

Some pics for the day, Parmesan just watered, more defol and delarf, new fan in.

Have a good day.

Insomnia and boredom made me do it lol

I did decide to do a presentation of the Gelato 2 today because she is starting to get a growth spurt.

Loving the old school tailors tape measure!
It's funny how the smallest things can have sentimental value. I've had that since forever and I don't even remember how I came about it perhaps bought for Housecrafts at school, a subject that girls were taught back in the day. We were taught how important it was for girls to know how to cook, mend and sew  Far more important than maths and science! 😬

Looking good:yummy::passitleft:
Thanks so much Abs :passitleft:
