Carmen's Winter Autos With ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro!

Oh yeah! :passitleft:
Let the games begin!
And we're off! :yahoo:

36 Days and still no flower. I'm amazed. I'm tweaking the training hooks and tucking leaves throughout the day, aiming for an even canopy. I wonder how quickly these plants will stretch now.

I took advantage of a period of loadshedding to get some natural light pics. I wanted an accurate representation of the colour of the plants. The good news is that loadshedding has been reduced to Stage 4 from Stage 6 and so we only lose power for about 5 hours in a day.

Here they are in the natural light.

Canopy training involves tweaking the training hooks throughout the day, tucking leaves and snipping lower growth. I see substantial growth overnight. I have to keep an eye on the res because they are thirsty.

First up Gelato auto 1

Next up is Parmesan auto

And lastly, a shot of the @ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro lights from below the canopy

@Carmen Ray Nice training.

@Carmen Ray Nice training.
Thank you Valerie.

Here is an update today. I am nearly ready to call flower but they are just not quite there yet at 39 days above ground. Almost but not quite.

I removed some of the larger fans which were shading the plants. I figure there is now sufficient new growth for them to photosynthesize properly without those big floppy fans in the way.

I am exceptionally happy with the progress of the second Gelato plant which is in the mushroom mix (2/3 super soil + 1/3 mushroom compost) Hmmm, perhaps I stumbled onto something here. I haven't had a nutrient lockout or whatever yet!

Thank you for your interest and the encouraging support.

P.S. I want to emphasize a feature of these @ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro lights that I think is having a powerful effect on my grow. Even my Gelato auto 2 on the periphery of the light footprint is looking very happy!

Have a great day!

Looking good there @Carmen Ray :welldone:

How do you like the @ViparSpectra XS1500 PRO?
For a small light I have become quite a fan.

Stay safe, and grow well my friend,
Tok..
Thank you Tok! I'm very impressed with the light and I am enjoying this grow tremendously. I feel the plants are healthier and performing better than my previous tabletop grows.

Stay safe too, and happy gardening Tok, have an awesome weekend :)

Have a great day!
That's an amazing light profile using the lenz!
How about that mushroom soil! I She thinks you're onto something too!

Thanks Otter, yes I am amazed at how green the G2 plant is! It's also already as tall as the other two. If the bud is good I might stick with the combo of super soil and mushy compost going forward.

🌼🌼🌼Flowering Milestone: Day 1 Of Flower🌼🌼🌼
Day 40 Above Ground

I'm calling today day one of flower. It is also day 40 above ground for both of the flowering plants.

I have increased the light intensity to 100 %, which is recommended. The plants are 12 inches from the light. They are both the same height and the canopy is looking promising.

They are both drinking approximately 2 L of water in just over a day. The Gelato auto 1 has a lot of water roots poking through the bottom of the bag, being air pruned.

Gelato auto 2 is catching up in height and will be a big plant I think.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my grow!

Hello from a cold and wet Gordon's Bay. I hope you've had a good weekend.

My flowering plants are a tight 12 inches from the lights. Fortunately there is plenty of height for me to raise the lights if needs be. The third plant is catching up in height and I am so excited to see what that one does compared to the G1. The G1 is much lighter in colour and the G2 is taller than the G1 was at that stage.

I've got a couple of shots of flower on each plant, and they are filling the frame in the overhead shots.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy what remains of Sunday :blunt:

Good morning,

Today was a mega training day. I did a thorough defoliation and reset the training hooks to splay the branches further.

First up is the Gelato auto 1

Next up is the Parmesan auto

Have a great week and thank you for stopping by.

Those branches pop out of the stem like a Technics lego build. All squared off and neat. Ah to not be so lazy and train a little…

In need to print off some photos of training techniques and leave them lying around for & Co to find. Then tell her I’m going to start doing it that evening before going out for the afternoon. Pretty sure on my return she’ll have done every plant to prove she can do it better 😂. Win win for me.

Just don't tell her. 🤣

Looking so neat Carmen. Gogogo
