Carmen's Winter Autos With ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro!

Cute babies and lovely pics Carmen! :Rasta:

Wotcha Carmen all cruisy looks like. Some epic posts here!

Just like kids, they're so cute when they're young!

Yeah my three and a half year old is cute as and already a pain! Gawd knows what she’ll be like at 16 😅 She’s way worse than any of the 4 16-20 year olds that live/hang out in our house.

Trust me they grow up and those cute lil ones will drive you to point you will hang them, then lock them away for a few weeks and you will finally BREAK ! and tear them apart and set them on fire. thats what cute gets ya

Don’t forget the cable ties and knives and coldness in situations like that. Its brutal.

had a great day Otter, thank you! It is June 16th

Is Julius still around? Met him. Awful human being. Really awful. Spent an hour two just me and two of his mates in News Cafe, Greenpont.

Grow is looking banging Carmen.

Those Skywalkers - I killed two already this week.

Better strains 😂

Aye, he is. That must have been an interesting conversation!
Grow is looking banging Carmen.
Thank you so much :green_heart:

This is where the babies are at today. Still loving the light and growing towards it. I haven't lowered it again as they look perfectly content with where it is. The Parmesan is getting about 360 PPFD, and the Gelato about 460.

Looking fine! Great pics!
You say great pics - meh you’re not head to head with her in photo of the month contest are you? I am. 🥲😂🤣

Way better than me! They are indeed very good!

Nick
You guys, thank you :)

Today I am going to do some strain updates. I'd like to properly introduce the two Italian delicacies that I am growing, Gelato by Fast Buds (@Herbies Seeds ), and Parmesan by Victory Seeds.

First up we have Gelato Auto
Gelato-auto-socvetiya.jpg__7GEMYGhwnl81a4Y0.jpg

"Gelato Auto is an autoflowering cannabis strain and a Sativa-dominant weed hybrid from Fast Buds. With THC levels hovering around 26%, it ranks among the most potent strains on the market. Brimming with sweet creamy flavors, this dessert strain of pot is a source of heavy-handed euphoria, creativity, and body relaxation. Because of its strength, leave this one for after work or the weekends.

Gelato Auto Strain Info

Gelato Auto marijuana seeds from the breeder FastBuds is an extremely potent autoflowering strain with bright history, which includes numerous prizes and awards. Among the last achievements is top 3 of best marijuana extractions in Spannabis 2020.

Genetics

This autoflowering cannabis variety was achieved by mating delicious Gelato with an autoflowering version of Girl Scout Cookies - a lineage which only serves to take its sweetness to a new level. Taking advantage of the mouthwatering family tree, Gelato Auto gets its name from the fruity, dessert-like aroma that’s reminiscent of cookies and ice cream.

Yield

The autoflowering Gelato Auto from FastBuds will satisfy your cravings with moderate yield of 400 – 550 gr/m2 (1,3-1,8 oz/ft2) for indoor grows, and 50 – 200g (2-7oz) per plant if you decide to cultivate it outdoor.

Effects

Fortunately, Gelato Auto’s effect is uplifting, creative, giggly and energetic, so users need not be too intimidated by her strength.

THC and CBD level

This feminized autoflowering marijuana strain stands out for its extreme potency, with a THC level hovering around 26%. Gelato Auto’s CBD content is quite low and stays under 1%.

Smell and Taste

No surprise here, but Gelato Auto’s flavors and aromas are among its most knockout features. This strain is all about the deliciously sweet terpene profile that will have you picturing yourself with your very own gelato strolling the streets of Rome. Its terpenes envelope creamy flavors and aromas of sweet cookies and ice cream, with citrusy undertones and hints of earth and pine.

Growing Gelato Autoflower Seeds

This autoflowering cannabis strain features stunning looks, with a pyramidal structure boasting lots of dense and compact vibrant green buds that shimmer with orange hues and icy resin. It’s also fast and easy to grow, and is capable of producing some extra-large yields.
  • The plant finishes the whole cycle (veg + flowering time) in 8 weeks.
  • It grows 70-100cm (28-40in) tall – perfect height for modest indoor grows.
  • Light defoliation will help develop the lower parts of the canopy.
  • Most plants will exhibit purple-colored hues."

Next up we have Parmesan Auto
auto_cheese-600x600.jpg

"Sex: feminized autoflowering
Genotype: Sativa/Indica/Ruderalis
Cross: Exodus Parmesan x Ruderalis
Indoor flowering period: 7-8 weeks
Outdoor harvest time: 10-11 weeks
Indoor yield: 450-500 g/m2
Outdoor yield: 50-170 g/plant
Height: 70-150 cm
T: 15%
C: High

Auto Parmesan is available as feminized photoperiod, or as feminized autoflowering strain. This version is feminized autoflowering. All of our seeds are feminized, meaning they will develop into a female plant. Because this strain is autoflowering, you can expect it to be a little bit smaller in size, and that it will turn into flowering phase by itself, based on its age.

Auto Parmesan is a mixture of sativa, indica and ruderalis. The ruderalis part made this plant a quick yielder. Parmesan has been such a runaway success over the last few years it made perfect sense to give it the auto flowering treatment. It originates from Afghani indica, Mexican sativa, Colombian sativa and Mexican Ruderalis. Another famous ancestor is Skunk #1. In the final crossing, that resulted in this strain, Exodus Parmesan and Mexican ruderalis were bred. By crossing Original UK Parmesan seeds with a hand selected Mexican ruderalis, Auto Parmesan maintains many of the traits original Parmesan is known for.

This strain can be grown indoors, or outdoors. Indoors, the flowering period ends after 7 to 8 weeks, and the plants will produce from 450 to 500 grams per square meter. Outdoors, the plant will be ready for harvesting after 10 to 11 weeks after it has been planted. It will produce from 50 to 170 grams. This strain can reach anywhere from 70 to 150 centimetres in heights, making it very discreet.

Auto Parmesan has the iconic musty cheese smell and impressively large buds for an auto flowering variety coupled with the “classic Parmesan Stone”."

And now for a pic update of the babies a week above ground.

Amazing closeups Carmen! Is the Gelato pale from the lights or is it just running on the lighter side of life?
Thank you Shed. It's pale under the lights. Here are some pics in the natural window light. Their roots are already poking through the drainage holes into the perlite.

:happy-birthday: it's your time to put on a show:theband:
Thank you Valerie :)

Welcome to the grow!:welcome:

Gelato is working on the third node and Parmesan is still working on that second set of leaves. Gelato Auto is 10 cm / 4 inches tall, and the Parmesan Auto is 7 cm / 3 inches tall. They are both 9 days above ground.

I love babies  !
I do too but I may have a problem child. I don't want to fuss overly much though.

I've been trying to find images on the net to compare with my Parmesan Auto seedling, which I feel may be stunting. The Gelato Auto is growing visibly each day, whilst the other seedling looks pretty much the same as it did 24 hours ago. It was about 12 hours behind the Gelato but still, it should show growth in 24 hours.

Here are a couple of shots of the babies from below. I think Parmesan auto has grown a bit over the course of today. Her first leaves are getting bigger and she is taking up more of the pot now. Gelato auto's first leaves stretch beyond the walls of the pot now.

Give her some time Carm. Keep your eye on her.
I sit next to them while I work, and I definitely see growth during the course of a day :) Little Gelato auto is transitioning into veg nicely and I hope Parmesan auto is not too far behind. Thank you for the positive vibes Otter!

Today I up-potted the Gelato auto. Once the initial shock wears off I will adjust the lighting from 25 % to 50 % for this plant as she heads into early veg.

Parmesan auto is now under her own light at 350 PPFD. Can you see any growth? I don't see much in three days.

Thanks for keeping me company while I grow!

Looks like my Solo Twisted Sisters. They grew a bit bushier and the main stem didn’t grow much height between the nodes.

They’re two to a pot and we didn’t have it with that strain before. That I remember so watering is somethibg to keep an eye on perhaps?

Other than that they’re also Indica dominant so could just be that.

I think that the Parmesan is possibly going to remain a tiny plant. With autos, I am learning, one never can tell. I have the watering covered though. I sub-irrigate via a SWICK and the plants are fed on living organic soil. It honestly couldn't be simpler than SWICKing. The water is wicked into the soil where it feeds the roots via capillary action.

Observing the Gelato auto, she is happy with her up-potting. Long may that last! I had the wicking set up already and I just had to water the plant in once I had moved it to the bigger pot. I did that by perimeter watering, avoiding the root ball. I did not water to run off as the soil was already moist from the SWICKY pad.

It's time to make a call. I think that this Parmesan auto is a dud. What do you think? Should I start another Gelato seed and discard the Parmesan (leave her to do her own thing on the periphery)?

And by contrast, the Gelato is off to a fighting fit start in her 20 L / 5 Gal pot. She's adjusted to the up-potting fine and I will give her until the end of the day before I turn her light up.

Incidentally the soil temp never drops below 19 C / 66 F

A tradeoff between sunk cost of the seed plus whatever else it will take to bring it home, vs spending those resources and time on a potentially more productive plant.

Personally I'd set it on the periphery and see what she does.
