Carmen's Winter Autos With ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro!

They look sweet and healthy today! :woohoo:
Thank you Otter!

I trust I have this SWICK wicking at the right rate. It really takes the hassle out of watering a seedling, and the @ViparSpectra XS 1500 Pro is pouring its gentle sunny rays down on the seedlings at 25 % from a distance of 24 inches / 60 cm away.

The Gelato is over an inch in height today and I wondered if I shouldn't bring the light a bit closer. Vipar Spectra recommend 25 % but much closer, for seedlings so in the next few days I will find the optimal height for these littlies.

Also, I checked with Valerie and my lights are going to be fine for my grow as they are. I usually turn my pots anyway.

That spread though
Those number's are banging, eh?

I mean its a a 2x2” tent light as they state BUT those are number's you want to hit with waaaaay more expensive lights per square foot of coverage.

Go Carmen!

Thanks Nick!

Here's a midnight pic of the bebes, standing proud, reaching towards the light

When I measured PPFD for the sprouts it is around 300, so the XS 1500 Pro is good where it is for now. It is at 60 cm / 24 inches from the seedlings, at 25 %. Babies seem happy.

I measured the PPFD again and it was actually around 250, which is fine and in range, but I wanted it at 300 so I lowered the light to 40 cm / 16 inches and kept it at 25 %. It is fabulous to be able to use the dimmer switch on the XS1500 Pro. The sliding mechanism for raising / lowering lights is smooth and precise. I am really impressed with the build.

Congrats on the lights Carmen, the young 'uns are looking healthy under them!
Thank you very much Stunger!

That's it. Gentle yet firm.
It's true. I've made an interesting observation with my two sprouts. The taller, bigger one, which is about 12 hours older than the other one handles 350 PPFD no problem, but the little one is bending away from the light! I have moved that one slightly to the side of the light to lower the PPFD to the 250 range. I just went to check. Not an hour later and the plant has straightened itself up again :) Life is magic!

My little garden today :)

So far the SWICK grow is as smooth as the Christmas grow was.

Yesterday I felt that the Gelato was getting a bit leggy, so I topped up both pots with seedling mix to accommodate the growth. The heights given are the new measurements. At 4 days from breaking dirt, they are establishing themselves well in their pots.

The previously light shy Parmesan is now taking the same intensity of light as the Gelato which is lapping up the light. I had moved the light down to 40 cm / 16 inches from the pots, but I had to move it back up ever so slightly when the Gelato shied away from it.

Swicks are working well. I have had to top up the res daily for the past two days.

Me too. Aren't they too cute 💕
Trust me they grow up and those cute lil ones will drive you to point you will hang them, then lock them away for a few weeks and you will finally BREAK ! and tear them apart and set them on fire. thats what cute gets ya
Looking good keep it up:thumb:

Hope you're having a wonderful day Carm!
I had a great day Otter, thank you! It is June 16th and for us that means a holiday that focuses on the needs of our youth. I spent the day helping out and taking photos at a sports day that was organized for disadvantaged children. I hope your day is also wonderful!

Thank you Savvage :) I look forward to that day lololol

Day 5. They are both putting out their second set of true leaves and taking in the light standing straight and tall. Gelato is an inch taller than Parmesan. They had a top up of their res's today again. It is very little water at this stage.
