Carestaker's Chemdawg Crosses In Soil & Coco - 2016

Thanks bro. They are looking good so I'm not tryin to mess with a thing :) Tahoe has some allure. She's not super frosty, or particularly beautiful, but there's something cool about how much UP she has, she's a big one. ;) She's also got some great nugs, very dense looking, and pale with look like they will be light orange pistils.

Thanks very kindly, Yeti. :thanks: SSD is a beast, gotta love that. Smoke is supposed to be up there too. She's harvest sized right now at 37 days crazy plant.

The ECSD clone is unmistakable, wish I had a cut. It was once common around here, and this was during same time that we rarely ever got any of the west coast goodness. It was a point of pride though, in an underdog kinda way. ;)

I've seen two phenos to the ECSDH so far. This current pheno is a bit more indica in it's habit, and buds, but it's possible that I inadvertently kept her from stretching by the misfire with my timer, and the close node spacing makes her fatter. The first bean I ran was a 5 foot amazon, with pearl cluster buds (bud pic maybe 4 pages back). I felt that the immediately post-dry test buds was more landrace-y sativa in it's effect, than was the ECSD clone. The fresh dried buds had a similar undercurrent of euphoria, but wasn't as encompassing as it should have been. I pulled that one at 73 or so days, and have yet to try her again after the cure. She wasn't grown to potential either. I smelled the jar though and was the dankest smell of the lot. She might need to run a week or two longer, or she might just have been that type of plant. I'm going to try her again this weekend. :) I'm on the search my friend. I'll report back. :Namaste:
There was a guy around here that kept sour diesel in his rotation that was simply one of the best strains I have ever come across. It was the stinkiest most expansive smoke. I have tried many others sour d that didn't come close and for this reason I believe this one guys was ECSD. The guy that had it was a friend of a loose acquaintances that I have since fallen out with. Even when on good terms there was no chance of getting the guy to let one go.

Unfortunately around here most people guard their best strains and the ones most willing to unload clones are those with mites or PM. So it's seed runs to pheno hunt while keeping clones of everything so as not to lose any winners :cheesygrinsmiley:

Think I'm going to order the Big Buddha version of the tahoe. Should make for an interesting comparison.

I hear they are pretty similar, but that would be great - you'll like her. Mine did balls up in week 1-2, but I pulled them and she was fine. I'm hoping it was mostly sterile anyway. The smell is great, now a bit more berry as usual in mid-flower. Yield should be pretty good too.

Speaking of balls, I also saw one nanner sticking out of one of the tops on ChemD. I used that opportunity to backbuild that bud, and haven't seen another. Now I just gotta not mess anything up haha. 2.75 weeks to go on the 3 9 weekers, and 5.75 weeks on the ECSDH which could swell to be something insane....we shall see!

I'll get them out of the tent for photos on Tues or Wed, and will update. :volcano-smiley:

Later tonight I'll get some photos and post em up. :volcano-smiley:

Had some beans arrive outa nowhere today :high-five: it's going to be a good day. :grinjoint:

They came in the cutest little jars...like what the world's tiniest Wizzard would use for his potions.

There's Bubblegum x AK, (Bubblegun?) in there that I would really like to plant now. gracias amigo! :Namaste:

Some Grow thoughts about ECSDH..

ECSDH#2 is a 10-12 weeker, but I've been really following ( read: sampling!! ) her on this run, trying to learn what she likes. Test buds at 40 days in show amazing pull, duration and depth of effect, and lthough it's still lacking in character, energy and fullness of effect, it's pretty dam strong already.

The last one I ran, ECSDH#1, was more hazy, than the current one. The smoke was a bit flat, although she might have perked up if let to run longer. I will eventually try the cured buds, so this may change.

This current pheno, is definitely more ECSD. Right now she smells like a fire-singed skunk crawled into a fruit basket, with a sugar-sour base note. She is very vigorous, and doesn't seem to stretch too much. Her bud structure is sativa dom-ish with vibrant green color, and calyxes that are comletely covered with a very high density of small-med sized heads. They appear almost white in certain lighting, and the stigmas are turning pink, so they look incredible.

For feeding - I hit her in transition with 1.5x the usual Ca/Mg and kept that ratio the whole way through - with a rising feed that peaks in week three, and then drops off to late-Veg-level application rates. I her her with a peak of 7ml/gal peak in week 3, with a drop to 5, then 4 in the weeks that follow. She could have used just slightly more. Medium feeder, likes N and P, but not so much K. She did sneak out some week 2/3 banana sacks between the bud and stem where you can't really see them. I should know better haha, but I did find them and removed them. I'll have a few seeds in the bottom scrubbs, and I'm fine with that. I may even grow one. Anyway, this is a common occurance in many strains today, and I was planning on preventing this by doing a much heavier defol before the flip - but for whatever reason, it never got done. Removing the small bottom branches is the best way to avoid the sacs imo. ASD did it too. BD too. Sometimes you don't see it on a subsequent clone run, and that would be nice, but really for me it's just a reminder to plan and prune better. I've been winging it for a while, and I should just write myself a calendar. Next run :)

---------------------------------------------------------------

Tests on ChemDookies show huge promise too. They kick like mad for so early, but they fade so fast - like a half hour max. I forget what make them do that. SSD is also showing promise. She's mostly cloudy, so she's now in flush, aiming for a pull within 2 weeks time. There is zero nutrient taste in any of the buds taken right from the plant, so I'm right on with new feed levels and frequency. ChemDookies is the taste winner so far, and probably the prettiest - Wait till you see her.

Update later tonight, I haven't killed them I swear. :cheertwo:

UPDATE: DAY 45 Flower

I'm going to do them one at a time. Just to much SWD to be able to get this done otherwise. The Jack leaning SWD is the better smoke by far, but it yields quite a bit less - around half. Great smoke though. Maybe I'll grow some straight Jack one day.

OK, on to the show. We got our first contestant up here on the catwalk.

Buddha Tahoe OG by Cali.
So dark on the outside, and pale and lime on the inside, with those soft looking orange hairs. She should go 9wks, so should be Chop#2 after SSD. These pics represent her pretty well.

Chem D Cookies coming up next.

ChemD x Cookies Day 45 Flower

If I'm posting too many pictures, it's really not my fault. :volcano-smiley:

She's actually insane looking in person, just pale green and white with sparkling trichs, the diamond-like flashes of blue. These pics don't do her any favors, but for a cellphone I shouldn't really expect much better. Need a new phone or a real camera.

Might not be til tomorrow. Testing too many flowers today. :) :volcano-smiley:

Such purdy plants, and the photos are great too. I would imagine some of those strains can be quite sensitive, so great job!

Can never be too many pics CS :)
man that chemd cookies looks tasty :thumb:

:thanks: She's super tasty. I'm not ashamed to say that I've sampled my fill of them all at this point. Tastes like green sugar. :volcano-smiley:

Thanks Blaze, so far so good. I'm seeing just a little taco near the top of ECSDH, but not enough to change what I'm doing. No other defics really, a few Ca spots here and there, but that is to be expected by this time. We got the first one coming down in two weeks, so the chops are getting near - fingers crossed. ;)
