Ohh yeah we called those things pin heads when I was growing up. No idea why but that is what we called them.

They look kinda like the curly-tailed lizards we had when I was a kid.Part of my IPM crew... (Integrated Pest Mgmt.)
These little guys keep the ground around the plants relatively bug-free-
I don't know how much they eat, but they're always eating something.....
There's 3 or 4 more of them, but these 2 may be the only ones working today...
Western Fence Lizard, not many curly tailed ones around there except the occasional skink that you dig up.They look kinda like the curly-tailed lizards we had when I was a kid.
I remember asking why their tails weren't curly, but I never got an answer.
When I was a kid, those things were all over the place, but now, I haven'tOh and don’t forget the horny toad!! Another odd one.
Ohh yeah and they were mean little bastards and would bite you too! When I was a kid, those things were all over the place, but now, I haven't
seen one for 40 years or so- I remember they'd squirt blood from their eyes if you surprised them-
Yeah I heard from a few people that they aren’t really around anymore. They like big empty fields so it kind of makes sense. In the 80s you could barely walk 20 ft without seeing one. When I was a kid, those things were all over the place, but now, I haven't
seen one for 40 years or so- I remember they'd squirt blood from their eyes if you surprised them-
...and another boxed beauty! Your consistency (since the bloom booster fiasco ) is really impressive.the 98 day old Critical Kush- flipped 62 days ago...she's 30" tall...
Were there fewer tops in veg or were you expecting a greater abundance? Just wondering why there are fewer colas than you're used to.A view from the top...that's most of the buds, there's 4 or 5 that didn't fit in the pic.
Dayumm...save those fans! She's doing ok in the frost dep't.
It knows there's still another window to block.the Somango is still going for it@ 4'11"
That's exponential growth right there...I checked with Google! She's doubled in size in the last week.
Thank You so much, Shed- that means a lot..Your consistency (since the bloom booster fiasco ) is really impressive.
I was planning on training for fewer tops, so they had more room in there..but then, she just kinda grew that way...so I pretty much just watched her grow- I haven't bent, trimmed, rotated, or trained her for the last 5 weeks..she's a do it yourself kinda gal...Were there fewer tops in veg or were you expecting a greater abundance?
Good to know!...I'll "stand back" next time I water her...That's exponential growth right there...I checked with Google!
Thank You, Ke0n!Proper shrubbery going on there Carcass!!
Ha! ...it wouldn't be shears, it'd be a saw, and she'd only make one cut...down reeaall low..You could always get out the big pruning shears and flatten those ladies into shrubs. I bet Mrs C would even do it for you
You'd think- but they both seem to have stopped getting any taller- the CK has been 67" tall since Saturday, Somango has been 59" tall since Sunday...they don't usually pause while they're stretching, so I figure they may be as tall as they're going to get....but they may be a bit wider by August...They’ll be blocking that window soon.
Thanks, GDB! Even the sleepy little Forbidden Fruit has decided to join the party...Looking very Carcass-like at your place!
Thanks, T- I think I'm going to have me a proper hedge going on in a month or so...Those outdoor girls. Wild and wooly!
It’s the green and the great aroma they are attracted to! HahahaThank You, Ke0n!
And oddly enough, I found a baby Praying Mantis while I was watering the plants yesterday, he was on the ground (in lizard territory) so I placed him high up on the plant..if he stays up there, he should do alright...odd, because I haven't seen a Praying Mantis out there for at least ten years...
