Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Ohh yeah we called those things pin heads when I was growing up. No idea why but that is what we called them.

Part of my IPM crew... (Integrated Pest Mgmt.) 😁

These little guys keep the ground around the plants relatively bug-free-

I don't know how much they eat, but they're always eating something.....
IPM2.JPG

There's 3 or 4 more of them, but these 2 may be the only ones working today...🦎
They look kinda like the curly-tailed lizards we had when I was a kid.
I remember asking why their tails weren't curly, but I never got an answer. 🤔

Western Fence Lizard, not many curly tailed ones around there except the occasional skink that you dig up.

We had the skinks too. Odd ones they are and we had some strange desert gecko, collar lizards, desert iguanas, had one of those as a “pet” as a kid. It would just hang out on my shoulder. Damn thing was as long as my arm!

There's bigger, all black (except for the blue belly) ones out there too- I don't know if they're a different species or what... 🤔

So many odd creatures in the desert! Those bigger all black with the blue bellies are skinks but sometimes those pinhead ones have a greenish blue belly too. Oh and don’t forget the horny toad!! Another odd one.

My kiddos spent a week at my mom’s place in vegas last summer. Her backyard backs up to thousands of acres of blm and they had a blast out there flipping rocks and chasing lizards!

When I was a kid, those things were all over the place, but now, I haven't
seen one for 40 years or so- I remember they'd squirt blood from their eyes if you surprised them-

Ohh yeah and they were mean little bastards and would bite you too!

It’s kind of sad we don’t have any wildlife like that other and garder snakes here and there and the random yard toad for the kids to torment!!

I had a 40 gallon aquarium in the back yard full of all kinds of critters. I put a scorpion in there at one point and it killed more than a couple of lizards and ate them. Or drank them more like it.

Yeah I heard from a few people that they aren’t really around anymore. They like big empty fields so it kind of makes sense. In the 80s you could barely walk 20 ft without seeing one.

Happy Monday everyone!-
it's time for a little Update on the 4 plants I've got going right now...

First up, the 98 day old Critical Kush- flipped 62 days ago...she's 30" tall...

1.JPG

A view from the top...that's most of the buds, there's 4 or 5 that didn't fit in the pic..

Here's a closer look at a couple buds..

She's doing ok in the frost dep't.
4.JPG

A look thru the door- you can't really see much....lots of larf, but not much else... 😁
5.JPG

And then there's the outdoor girls- @Barney's Farm Critical Kush on the left, ApeOrigin Somango on the right.
The Kush seems to have stopped stretching @5'7"tall, while the Somango is still going for it@ 4'11"
6.JPG

Flowering on the CK- I don't think it'll be too much longer till she just goes for it...
7CK2 on hold.JPG

Somango- not quite as far along, but it won't be much longer for her either...
Neither one of them actually revegged, they just kept stretching, but stopped producing many pistils...but pistil production is up the last couple days, so I'm pretty sure full flower is just around the corner....

And we can't forget about the slow growing little Forbidden Fruit in the big SIP...
9.JPG

She's doubled in size in the last week. So now, she's (a towering) 7 inches tall.
I had to stake her up yesterday- the wind was laying her down pretty good in the late afternoon..

Actually, her branches are finally starting to grow a little, so she's probably getting ready to dazzle me with some incredible growth!.................or not...😁

And there you have it!
That's about all that's news today,
Thanks for looking, I appreciate your support...💚

So much goodness going on north of here!

...and another boxed beauty! Your consistency (since the bloom booster fiasco ;) ) is really impressive. :welldone:

Were there fewer tops in veg or were you expecting a greater abundance? Just wondering why there are fewer colas than you're used to.
She's doing ok in the frost dep't.
Dayumm...save those fans!
the Somango is still going for it@ 4'11"
It knows there's still another window to block. 🪟 🌳

That's exponential growth right there...I checked with Google!

Thank You so much, Shed- that means a lot..🙏

I was planning on training for fewer tops, so they had more room in there..but then, she just kinda grew that way...so I pretty much just watched her grow- I haven't bent, trimmed, rotated, or trained her for the last 5 weeks..she's a do it yourself kinda gal...😁

Good to know!...I'll "stand back" next time I water her...😆

You could always get out the big pruning shears and flatten those ladies into shrubs. I bet Mrs C would even do it for you 😂
They’ll be blocking that window soon. If I come down in August I look forward to seeing how little view you have!

Looking very Carcass-like at your place! :)

Proper shrubbery going on there Carcass!!
Thank You, Ke0n!
And oddly enough, I found a baby Praying Mantis while I was watering the plants yesterday, he was on the ground (in lizard territory😬) so I placed him high up on the plant..if he stays up there, he should do alright...odd, because I haven't seen a Praying Mantis out there for at least ten years...

Ha! ...it wouldn't be shears, it'd be a saw, and she'd only make one cut...down reeaall low.. 😁

You'd think- but they both seem to have stopped getting any taller- the CK has been 67" tall since Saturday, Somango has been 59" tall since Sunday...they don't usually pause while they're stretching, so I figure they may be as tall as they're going to get....but they may be a bit wider by August...:cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanks, GDB! Even the sleepy little Forbidden Fruit has decided to join the party...

Those outdoor girls. Wild and wooly!
Thanks, T- I think I'm going to have me a proper hedge going on in a month or so...😁

It’s the green and the great aroma they are attracted to! Hahaha
