Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Thanks, Grateful- I kinda got in a hurry this year, next year I'll do it right!
(odd, because I generally don't "hurry" much.. :))

These are my first...and hopefully my last...

Somango looks like I'd expect her to look if she's re-vegging-

The Critical Kush, not so much...I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel on this one...only because she's got way more pistils today than she had yesterday..

time will tell...
I'd definitely give it more time to see how they develop. Could just be a hiccup.

Whatever they do, they're not in the way out there, so they've got all the time they need...
I may need to keep them under 8 feet if they try to get too tall... 😁

Grab some of that yard fencing and make a “net” for them and scrog them you can run that “net” as long as you have room for :)

Thanks, Ke0n-
good suggestion, but, tbh, I'll probably just bend them over, if need be...A scrog might make it difficult to spray for aphids, which, I'm pretty sure they'll have by then...😬

Ahh that's probably a better idea :) Need to get you some preying mantis eggs :) I bought 4 this spring and all but 2 of them have hatched out in the veggie garden! 2 of them hatched today while I was out poking aroudn out there this afternoon and I was able to get them to jump into my hand and move them around the garden as I wanted. Damn ants where there ready to eat LOL

Right now, there's a few ladybugs policing the leaves and branches, and 4 or 5 lizards keeping the ground bug free...I don't think Praying Mantis' would survive those lizards- one of them caught and ate a dragonfly the other day- the dragonfly was as big as he was...
You got the garden going great Carcass, the outdoor girls are kicking off bigger every time I look!
Thank You, Stunger! They're doing great, except for that "re-vegging" thing..:)..but, no biggie, they'll just take a little longer...
😁👍
In other news...the 26 day old Forbidden Fruit got topped today...

She's not much of a grower yet...but it's early..🤔

I covered the soil with mulch, and it cut the evap. rate from apx. a gallon a day to a quart a day-
it also keeps the roots a bit cooler, which can't hurt..

You’re probably right about that one! Lizards can’t survive the winters up here so we don’t get them. Yet neither can the mantis so have to order eggs for them.

I don't know why, but this year there's sooo many lizards running around out there, like 4 times as many as usual...
Sure does keep the ground in the garden bug free, so I'm definitely not complaining..

Looking good @Carcass . I like to cover my mulch layer with a light layer of grass clippings. Those will fade from green to a light tan and reflect more of the UV light and the heat from taking up residence in the mulch.

Thanks, Azi- that's a good idea- next time I mow the lawn, I'll save some- that dark mulch does get damn hot!

I knew that topping was coming sooner rather than later.
Now, the rest is up to her- that's the extent of her training- just the one snip! 😄
It's gonna be a big beautiful bush!
Hopefully!
She's not that interested in growing yet, but I think she'll get on track eventually..⏲️

She certainly looks like she plans to grow, Carcass! Don't blink! :Rasta:

How does Mrs.C feel about the increased lizard presence? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Ha! She's fine with lizards... snakes would be a problem, though...
Tbh, she doesn't even go out there very often...although, she did notice the big SIP today...she says "Oh, I see you ruined my big pot"....🤪

Ruined??!? No, no, no.  Upgraded! :thumb:
Yes! Upgraded, and finally being used after sitting around the yard for 20 years or so..👍
(we never did decide who's planter it was...but it's mine now..😁.)

And while I'm here, how about an update on what's happening with the indoor Critical Kush, and the outdoor girls..

A pic through the door- not a very good view, but it is what it is...She's about 90 days old, flipped on 5/5/24, and she's doing pretty well

A better view ..she's a happy girl..

another one- gettin' frosty..!

And then there's the little Forbidden Fruit in the big SIP- she got topped yesterday above node 4..
FF.JPG

And today, she's actually starting to grow a little...so she'll get more interesting pretty soon..
FF2.JPG

And the 2 big girls- The Critical Kush is 62" tall now, still growing an inch a day
CK2.JPG

And the Somango- she's 10" shorter at 52" tall, also growing an inch a day

They're both probably going to reveg, because I put them out a little early...
This is the CK- it's like she started flowering, then put it on "hold" for awhile...
CK2bud.JPG

Same with the Somango, started to flower also, now on hold...

They'll start flowering like they should eventually...🤞

And that's about all for this one-
Thanks for looking,
I appreciate your support!💚
and have a great week!

The orange hairs on that indoor CK are amazing! Good work!!
