Lucky dog! Wish i had room for all those.
I hear Alien crazy good. Good luck. Idk if it helps but i soak my beans until they sink, then i put it tip down right in the soil (FFOF) In their permanent home and get 100% germ rate.

You got this...I think all seedlings are healthy or they wouldn't of sprouted-it's the "love" that's hard on them-too much of a good thing.....

It's Alien Rift - Alien Abduction x Alien Dawg x Alien OG. Hey, where's the bong! I also use FFOF, just rapid rooters first so that they have a nice solid base as seedlings.

Oh how true. It's the one's with burnt leaves standing up only becuase of a "just-so" arranged paperclip.

My electrician Son stopped by and gave me this (leftover from a job he's on),he thought it might help ol' Dad out with his "hobby"

It's actually a crap shape to incorporate into my box,but I was thinking maybe a movable light
to use for a little sidelighting on my up and coming plants....or something-it's pretty bright (daylight) ,and even has a built in fan-here's what I came up with:

1780424

I figure I can move it around in there to put it where it's needed....I don't know if side lighting even does much for the plants, but I used them a few years back with a cfl grow i did,and while they might not have helped, they didn't hurt anything, either.
It could possibly help when the plants get taller....

The only thing that i'd worry about is the extra heat load-I'm managing to keep it in the low 80's in there right now,but with more heat generated.....just have to see,I guess. I have my original 115v exhaust fan I could add,but it's noisy as hell.
It says 60watt,so I'm assuming that is actual watts used?..because it's a hell of a lot brighter than a 60w bulb.
No amber on the lowryder yet,so I guess I wait-she's 4 days away from 100,so maybe she's trying to set a record or something-a lot of fresh pistils this morning... she's like the energizer bunny....just keeps going...and going...and going...

So that's about it for today, thanks much for stopping by!

So that's about it for today, thanks much for stopping by!

Have you seen the reflectors for HIDs with a vertical lamp? It shouldn't be too much of a problem to build one.

I have seen them, but never really "looked at" them,if you know what i mean...I'll check them out a bit more closely.
I made reflectors for my cfl's so by the time I need to use this light,if I go overhead with it,I'll either
get a real reflector,or make one up-I used to work in sheet metal,so I have a large amount
of "reflector friendly" materials out in my shop.

That's really hard to even guess-she's got about 18 buds of varying sizes -I hadn't squeezed one till you asked this question-they're very dense,(and now my fingers stink) and they go almost all the way down to the "trunk".
I'm terrible at this, but I'm going to guess 1.5 oz dry... trying to picture them in the jars...I think I'll need at least 3.
When I harvest,I'll weigh them wet, then figure the dry weight at 20-25% of that,so we'll see.....

Well, The Low Ryder#2 told me this morning that it's time...
(sorry for the fuzzy pic-didn't look at it till after I plucked the nanners)

So,this doesn't mean hermie...It means she's been ready for pollen for a real long time, but it's just not happening,so she's going to try and do it herself in a last ditch effort to keep the species going.

I think I'm going to go ahead and chop her today,She's been flowering for 73 days, and is actually showing a tiny bit of amber trichs (like ten). According to Seedsman, she was supposed to be ready after 6 weeks of flowering, and she's gone 10.5 weeks (you can never depend on "projected" flowering times-too many variables involved)

Pollen wouldn't hurt her this close to harvest, but in case I missed a nanner,I don't want any pollen lingering in "the box"which could affect my up and coming girls

I've got to go do some stuff right now,but when I get back,I'm going to thank her for a job well done,
then get out the clippers and get to work.....
I'll put up some pics later on...

Well, she's done 2 last pics before the end...

And now on to the fun part (I actually hate trimming, but it's part of the process...)

1782739

This little girl had a lot of bud on her,for such a tiny plant-I think I'm going to grow another one sometime in the future.

1782741

1782742

1782743

I only got 1 small bag of trimmins off of her,but I don't trim real close-if it's got a lot of sugar on it,it stays....the pics above are untrimmed.....I leave some, but not that much ;)

So here's the pile o' pot after trimming-11.3 oz wet--I figure the dry weight at 18-20% of that,
so I should end up with 2.5 - 2.8 oz dry-not too bad for an 11 inch plant....

1782760

Here she is with a can of coke in there for scale:

1782761

And hanging in the closet with a little usb fan blowing air in her general direction, about 5 feet away-I think I'm going to move it a little farther away-I just want the air to be moving, not blowing on the buds-if the buds are actually moving from the air,the fan is too close,IMO

1782763

Here's the trimmers, with a little goo and some pistils stuck to them-I'm going to "smoke that stuff" a little later on...

1782764

Trimming was pretty easy-she had so many buds, there wasn't really much room for leaves.

Well, that's the lowryder story for awhile-I'll weigh things again before she goes into the jars, but all in all,I'm happy with how she turned out-When I planted that old seed,I didn't really expect much-I mainly planted her to try out my new LED...which I'm also very happy with
And I've also got to commend MegaCrop-easy,and it works...and that's all I really expect it to do.

My seedlings are going to be brought up with it,too-oh,and I did buy some of their "Bud Explosion" and "Sweet Candy" to use when my new girls start flowering...

This Journal will continue with my Northern Light, and Peyote Critical (both doing fine, btw)
And I'll be updating on Monday (ish)
Thanks for looking, and following along with the loryder-you're welcome to stay and see what the new girls are gonna do...I appreciate your support so far-It's always been fun growing cannabis, but this Journal thing makes it even better!
Thanks again,See you first of the week :peace:

That I am ! quite a bit more than I expected-I'm actually going to miss that little girl...
