CaptainLucky's Canuk Seeds Comparative Grow 2023

Capn, You know I'm a rookie at growing Cannabis in soil, but I've grown quite a few vegetables in large pots. :) Unless it's an issue of funding for the soil, why take the risk,:hmmmm::oops: with all you time and energy that will be spent on your grow.:hmmmm::( I don't even reuse the soil in my veggies pots. :) There's lots of fungus disease around here, spores in the air/dirt, just everywhere.

Plus there are always holes/erosion in my yard that needs a little used dirt, to even things out.:)
I’ve used it before with out any issues and tbh I don’t like spending $$$ if I don’t have to. But I know what you mean about why take any chances. Idk maybe I’ll will buy some new. CL🍀 :thanks:

FFHF is pretty cheap here but they were out last time so I had to do with OF. I usually put my used soil out in the garden but I think I'll reuse my current pots since autos don't take as long as my photos do.

Also, I suggest getting the RH up in the closet by about 30-40%. A well-watered big pot of last grow's soil can help if you don't have a humidifier handy.
I’m using a humidifier but I had the closet door open for a bit while I was attending to the plants 🪴. But thanks for sharing that tip. CL🍀 :thanks:

Feed them as often as they need it. Worst case is you need to do a bit of root scoring on transplant. It could be more of an issue if they were autos. ;)
What’s wrong with reusing your old pots for photos if you thoroughly clean them first? I uppoted my AGs and LB with old pots. CL🍀

:welcome:Journal Update: I’m still noticing a slight nute burn on my ladies using Week 4 PB. So I’m gonna try lowering the ec. I got a email from Wally saying that my FFOF will now be delivered Saturday. Hopefully that helps with my Durban n Chemdog #4. I’m thinking about maybe running one of those Orange Bud Auto’s I won on a different site. It’s from Dutch Passion n looks like a decent strain for an Auto. Hope everyone’s week is going well and your gardens are all green. Happy growing n stay safe. Here’s some pictures taken today. CL🍀. :thanks:

Question: wouldn’t using last year’s soil be a good reason TO use bokashi and frass? Also, last couple times I’ve also added EWC with the bokashi and frass. It mitigates calmag issues significantly in my opinion. Great stuff to add I believe.
It is good stuff 👍

Probably nothing, though if by clean you mean get rid off all the leftover nutes, that would be more water than I'd want to waste.
I use the same old pot over and over again no cleaning involved a seedling volunteer from a hermie about 4 runs ago seems to be doing good hopefully its female it looks promising

And i only pull up the root ball leave all the old feeders in there, they break down pretty QUICK! 👍✌️

For letting me know you keep reusing your soil without rinsing and that it's working well! What nutes are you using?
@InTheShed also a soil test with a consult at the start of each round you will have to flush the soil if the test comes back to high and out if range because of over use of even dry amendment 6.8/ 6.9 ph target for LOS keeps heavy metal uptake down in tge plants plus the biology prefers more of a neutral soil ph👍. Compost tea as well and lactobacillus home brewd with milk and rice water

Oh gotcha, this is an organic grow! Reusing the soil is always recommended there. I use synthetic nutes and wonder about leftover ions in the soil were I to reuse it without flushing it clean. I'd rather add it to my garden than run gallons of water through it to make sure. Water is a precious resource here in Los Angeles!
