Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Thanks LA! :thumb:

I took a shot of each plant after defoliation, JUST in case something happens with my video. ;-) I'll take a pic every few days and store them.

Now, check the weather report....and head out to try this pollination thing again. I dumped the vial of plain flour just in case my mind went out of the area again.....

UPDATE 10-5-15 Wildlings and pollination:

Well, one thing I'm never shy of in my journals is pictures. LOL

Here are the Wildlings today, they are soaking in all of the rain the last couple of days. Lots of sugar, yum. I hope the close ups aren't too big, they get too pixellated when I do that.

I would have loved to see what these girls would look like in an indoor grow. They took a seriously heavy hit from bugs, mostly the leafhoppers as you can see by the many yellow leaves. The little suckers bled those leaves terribly. There was no fighting them, far too many.

Two of the Wildlings and one branch on THC Bomb were pollinated. Now I need to hope the wind stays down a few days while that gets going.

Update on Top Gal coming up next. :)

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Some Top Gal shots. Even though she is a Wildling, I don't think she is producing near as much on trichomes as the girls in the Haven, but she's still toooo purty. :)

The clones in the veg room. I did a little more fimming to the biggest one. I am waiting on 5 more newer clones to root.

Knarly trichome crust. You're going to be amazed by the yield if you make oil from that...

Well thank you, Sir Chops-A-Lot

I'll probably be dozing in heated recliner comfort a lot of the time. If I start to snore throw a shoe at me or sumthin'.
I don't think you'll be dozing off with all these fine plants and stuff like the quote below happening PJ.

I had ever so carefully dusted those buds with plain flour.
Don't worry Partner, we're laughing with you not at you... Kinda... LOL

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

One more outdoor issue...bud rot.

I found one small bud on Top Gal that was covered with wet powdery mildew, or bud rot.
I removed the bud completely and then gave the girl a defol, not a heavy defoliation, but enough to uncover the buds close to the stems to allow free air and sunshine to keep them dry.

She's okay. :)

10-6_4.jpg

I only found one very tiny caterpillar on her, but I still have a couple friends helping out:

When I went to check the Wildlings I found one small bud on the pollinated girl that had an issue. Basically the stem end had died, the bud was just hanging by a thread and turning brown. Ah well....it is what it is. :)

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Hmmmph! I'm bored.......

.....so I decided to experiment with my Colloidal silver.

The plant I'm using is one of the clones that I'm sure came from a female plant, but not sure which strain. I think it's White widow fem....or could be the WW x MK.

According the instructions from "granny420" on my blog, you can do this with a seed or clone plant and the plant can be small.

I gave it the first Colloidal silver spray a bit ago, I'll wait for that to dry and get her back under the light. Then do the daily spraying until I see male signs. Let's see if I can make a male plant and get some winter pollen to store. :) I think I was only supposed to spray the potential bud site areas.....hope I didn't screw it up right outta 'da gate.

Silver_start.jpg

If this works I might start a community journal for just seed making. Or could start one now.....any thoughts on whether that would be beneficial to the community? Let everyone post their methods, triumphs...failures etc.
I could begin it with posting Toker69's method and Granny420's to get the ball rolling.

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Well, I got out of having everyone here for Thanksgiving! I still have to cook the bird, but I'll just take it to Bro's house when it's done.
Hip Hip Hooray!

And it's a darned good thing, because when I tried to move these plants to do the next project it turned out to be quite an effort. LOL

I had some mylar hanging on the enclosure for my very first grow and decided to put it to use. I saw this on a thread not too long ago, cannot remember what thread though.
Hopefully this will reflect the light back up into the plants from below. I didn't put it under the wide plant, simply because it's too much to try to move it.

Can't hurt right?

Both are great ideas Partner and good stuff getting out of TG diner. I love to cook but the hosting I can do without.

COLLOIDAL SILVER MALE PLANT PROJECT

DAY 2

These are the beginning pictures of the project. What I am looking for is these pistils to die and male pollen sacs to start forming in those areas. I did another spray this morning in the pistil areas.

POLLINATION DAY 3

This is day 3 of the pollination on THC Bomb branch. I'm looking for the pistils to turn brownish and shrivel inwards.

Polination_day_3.jpg

I hope the pollen didn't get too wet. It was a constant wet condition outside the last few days.

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Good morning Sista, did you start your Colloidal Silver project with spraying the whole plant first???

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Hi ya brother dear.....
Yes, I did...and I'm wondering if I didn't make a boo boo doing that?

If so, I have lots of clones I can begin the project with again.

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

I hated Math class in school....but I do like having fun with numbers.

There are an average of 15 bud sites per branch, and 8 main branches on the wide WW x MK plant.
That is 120 bud sites. Given the smaller branches and adding a few in that have much more than 15 bud sites on the main ones...I'm going to say a safe 160 bud sites on that plant.

Woo Hoo! I hope they all turn out big and sticky. ;-)

Okay ya'll, update on the pollination. It appears the Wildlings plants are going to make a couple seeds. I'm not sure I will do the flour as a carrier again, it stayed in clumps on the plants and with how wet it is staying in my area I am seriously fearing mold/rot. I have found bud rot on two plants, one in the haven and one on Top Gal. It just won't get dry here, even with the wind.

The THC bomb pollinated buds are going a little slower, the pistils appear to be affected but they aren't brown. I may try a little more pollen on her when the wind dies down, this time without the flour. She's a younger plant and still in prime seed time IMO.

Here's some pics of the pollinated buds on the wildlings. The pistils are dying back and the top of one appears to be starting the seed calyx:

I am probably going to harvest Top Gal over the weekend. Again, I am seriously worrying on the bud rot because of the weather and I'm seeing some amber on the trichs. Most of the trichomes are milky.
This is the best I can do with trichome pics on a windy as usual day. ;-)

Garage girls are doing great, clones are doing great. The Colloidal silver project is ongoing, this can take 10 to 21 days from what I read.

I've been a busy girl with life's curveballs the last couple of days.

Hope everyone is doing well!
