Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

I am probably going to harvest Top Gal over the weekend. Again, I am seriously worrying on the bud rot because of the weather and I'm seeing some amber on the trichs. Most of the trichomes are milky.

Looks like a lot of amber on that final leaf phto

Top Gal is harvested!

Here's the top cola getting the last view of the fall colors over the pond:

All chopped and ready for her bath:

The buds got bathed in tepid water with Lemon juice and baking soda (per Peejay's post on how he washes his buds)
They got rinsed twice and are now hanging to dry in the old shower with a small fan blowing temporarily just to get the bulk of the wetness off:

I didn't find any more buds that had rot, from the outside of them anyway. I brought in only two leafhoppers and one small worm. The little spider was still hanging on, so I transferred him outside to the Sleestack Skunk plants to continue his mission.

It looks like it was a golden day for a harvest. I'll miss seeing top gal out by the pond though.

Congratulations on your harvest, Cannafan!

Looking for a better way to get my buds hanging straight down and easier to adjust without fussing with clothespins, I finally found something.
An old box of paperclips. Push one end through the stem and bend them so the branch hangs straight, then onto the hanger.
Bobby pins prolly would have worked as well.

Quick shots, first is garage grow. The temps in the garage have gone as low as 50 last night, but we're supposed to be warmer this week during the nights so I'll leave it be.

The clones are doing fine, here's the planted group:

And the biggest one, Afghan Kush clone. She's been fimmed 3 times in different areas:

I'm waiting on other clones to get bigger roots before planting, 2 Top Gals, 2 Buddha, and one THC Bomb.

UPDATE COLLOIDAL SILVER MALE PLANT PROJECT

DAY 6

It appears my silver mixture has stayed viable after being in storage for almost a year. The pistils on the female plant are beginning to turn brown. I have been spraying twice per day because she is still trying to push new pistils on the lower branches. So far, we're looking good. :)

Cannafan, Your grow looks great. I have a question. When I went back east I had someone care for one of my plants. When it started to pistol someone else topped it and cut all the pistols off. I was going to toss the plant out but decided I could use the trouble shooting. I was thinking about doing a short journal on the plant until I can get a normal grow going. Anyway, my question is because the pistols were cut off and topped then placed back under weak 24 hour lighting; until I had rescued her. Is the plant a loss? Maybe I should do a journal on her. I don't even understand why the person did what they did. It just seems cruel.

HI Lady V!

Are there any shoots left on the plant? If you have shoots coming out of the stems you should be good to go. I'm not sure if it got stressed enough to go hermie on ya, but it's certainly worth saving IMO.
You have a picture of the plant? If so, post it here if you like.

This is a couple of clones I took from Top Gal a couple weeks ago that had small buds on them. I planted today, and I'm curious to see how it does and what happens with the buds.

I am tickled pink, to say the least about our weather....Canna, now that Thanksgiving is off the table at your house, are you planning on bringing the garage girls back inside when it does get cold or no....?

On Cajun's thread he talks about CO growers spraying/watering with essential oils beginning at week 3 of flower through to the end to increase terpene production...he said that is widely done....I remember you spraying with, was it rosemary, to keep the bugs off the plants....how much oil did you use....?

I will get something up tomorrow. She still has leaves. She is on of the seeds I started May 12, 2015.

Hi Shawnee, you can use any kind of oil but I wanted one that is highest heat tolerance and little to no fragrance.
I used 2 Cups of sunflower oil to 1 Cup rosemary. I also added cloves to mine. (Make sure the herbs are completely covered with the oil) Put in the crock pot for a half a day on low temp, internet recipes say about 6 hours, then strain out the herbs, let it cool and jar it up or put it in your sprayer.

Store it in a cool place, oil can go rancid on you.

Edit: Also, I found it useful to roll the rosemary around in my hands to help release some of the natural oils before adding it to the crock. ;-)

And, no I won't be bringing the plants in the house. They will stay in the garage full term. It will have heat.....I'm hoping. LOL

re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

I will most likely be harvesting the Wildlings this weekend. They have some amber on the trichomes and I think they've about had enough of bugs and weather. ;-)
The pollinated ones will stay in there until I either get seeds or they prove to have been too late for seeding. The pistils have all died back and it looks like seeds are starting, but that could just be leaves closing into buds as well. We'll see in a few days.
