Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I always put "topical use only" on my pain oils as I also put arnica and calendula in it. I make mine rather thin as I put it in those roller ball bottles for ease of use. I also put all of the ingredients on the label as I share and do not know what folks can and cannot use.

I really like the roller bottle idea! I think I will try some ISO and a few buds to make a topical tincture. Learn something new every day.

Thanks Mighty Mouse! :thanks:

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Hey Johnny.
I also have a seizure disorder. Charlotte's Web was made specifically for kids. Don't want those kids getting a buzz, you know. THC does help with seizures. I do not use a "CBD" oil and I haven't had a seizure in over a month and it was a small one. Normally I had 25 - 50 seizures a day. I do plan on growing a CBD plant to try the CBD oil, when my visitors are gone. But, CBD is not the only cannabinoid that helps prevent seizures. Like I said, it only prevents kids from experiencing the euphoria from THC.

I remember now WildJim. I don't know what I was thinking.
I know a friend with MS (maybe MS...diabetes for sure) who stopped her seizures with THC CCO!!!

Sometimes I see signs that I was not cut out for this...hope I have enough brain cells left.

Still News:

I washed 2+oz of GG bud with about 1.75 lt of KleenXtract. All in freezer over night, with two 3 minute washes.

I'm 10 minutes power on the still with my wash. Rapid boil already. Alcohol pouring, not dripping, out the nozzle. Seems too fast for my comfort.;lo0 <---cat type after the period...I don't know what it means, do you? Wink--meowMEOW :ciao:

I will turn the still off, wait a few, then open and inspect. I 'm at half the expected return. 30 minutes now. Off and waiting to cool a little. Stream of alcohol lasted abt.12 seconds after power off. Dripping and slowing, stopped at 2 min.
Lifted lid...light green liquid, about half left, my 80% mark on the glass collection carafe looks close to accurate. Power back right away, stream of distillate (alcohol) within 1 min.
Slight smell of alcohol within 5 feet...none at 8-10 feet. Inside the open door, vent fan (large) pulling air in the door and out the roof. Dedicated fan on work.
45 min mark. 3/4 expected alcohol return. Power off for inspection.
VERY close...a few more minutes is all my nerves can handle!
A few more were a few too many, but OK...half a half cup. Like to stop at just under one half cup and go to hot plate. Left the timer to continue so no exact time....45 looks good especially if I don't stop the still to look-e-loo.
1/2 cup ss measuring cup in ss bowl of olive oil on hot plate.
Let olive oil get too hot...CCO tops out at 280 deg F. at end of decarb. Alittle too hot ...oil will be thick.
Two syringes: 6+ grams (ml) and 3++ grams (ml) for a total of 9+++ grams (ml) of.....

Tim's GorillaGlue Memorial CCO
Using one of his original daytime happy face syringes!

Recovered about 1.25 of 1.75 liters solvent after washing out still and outside of syringes with recovered solvent.
Love it already!

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Absolutely it can be done with out the MB2. It just makes life easier. Put oil, crush up bud and Lecithin in a crock pot and cook on low (160 degrees or so) for 4 hours. I use 1T Sunflower (not soy) lecithin per cup of oil. This helps increase the bio availability if you use it orally. I use the oil in my brownies too. Good coconut oil makes for a great tasting chocolate coconut brownie!!! :circle-of-love::peace:

This sounds pretty straight forward, I think I can handle it.

Good going Johnny! Next time you won't have to stop the process to looky....
What? No Pictures? Camera no worky? It better work! Still time to return it....let me know as soon as you can.

Love the step by step short story. Good reading....

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I was just going to edit to say to use the leftover bud in brownies SG. LOL
Just be sure you haven't added any non edible items while making it.

Check temps of your crock pot, you don't want it to go over 250 degrees. Some crocks run hot even at low temp.
You can do this in a pan on the stove as well, but that's a little more trouble trying to keep the temp correct.
The recipe on my blog by Beemerbill tells how to do it in the crock pot.

I'm replying to my own post. LOL
Just wanted to let Supergroomer know that the highlighted red stuff above was for BeaverIslander. I know SG has done this before. ;-)

A friend of my wife's made her some essential oils in a roller bottle. The bottle is about the size of a lipstick and probably holds an oz or so. Works great! :peace:

Hi Fanny. Camera probably works, I just felt I had my hands full learning the still let alone learning the camera too. Next time, but you've already shown us those pics, thank you! I can't do as well, but I'll try.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

My daytime tack (Tangie) is so gosh darn tasty! Very citrusy (tastes like grapefruit), and it makes me happy, motivated, and insightful. I must find more. I bought 2 clones last fall after trying the bud, bloomed the first maybe too soon (could'a' should'a' waited, grown a bigger plant, and then I'd have more). Now clone #2 has been in the bloom room for a month, but I didn't get a good clone of either plant first. (Not for lack of trying, but my recent clones have not been "taking.") I went ahead and cut some shoots off of it today, and I am going to keep them warm and nearby. My sis says 73-75 F works for her. Wish me luck.

I have noticed metabolic changes since adopting a daily cannabis regimen, but even more since starting daily tacking. Body fat is redistributing, gut is shrinking. No appetite for sugars, just for good food. Must be homeostasis, eh?

Great news Cannacar!

Congrats on your way to being a healthier you, and those around you will benefit too. :bravo:

You will have changes that are subtle too, somewhere down the road you will realize these and they are good things. :)
The appetite thing works in more than one beneficial way, as you said...you don't crave the sugar, so you aren't eating the nasty foods. Lose weight, and look healthier in addition to feeling it.
For me it increases my appetite in general, I eat healthier foods now and cut out most of the processed sugars. I'm keeping my weight on. Win Win. (I just need to stop long enough to eat when I'm thinking about it. LOL)

Good luck on the clones! :circle-of-love:

The other oils thicken it up just a bit which I like. I get 10 ML and 30 ML roller ball jars. The larger ones are good for home and the smaller ones are good for pocket or purse for when you are out and about. Works very well for myself and friends. Also you may reuse them a few times if cleaned well.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I guess that wasn't clear. I meant for drug testing. Unless it's blood testing...do employers actually do that?!?!

If you are going for an FBI job or something sensitive such as that, yes they do it.

The flushes are too "maybe" for me. I cannot take even the slightest chance. This is too important to keep this job. The testing units my employer uses are the expensive ones that are extremely sensitive to the tiniest amounts of opiate or THC. I just can't take the chance.
It would have been fine for those "standard" testing units, but not this one. Saliva and Urine, they do them both now.
Hopefully this won't be too long.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Nice to see people enjoying their cannabis oil, having fun with it and reporting success. The capsules that I have been making for the last few years have been excellent for symptoms left after brain surgery, deficits, and I just like taking them.
Slide19.JPG

I just made a batch of ethanol extracted oil and am thinking it might work well in a skin lotion. Found bulk lotion base and am considering getting a gallon jug of it and infusing a few pain relief compounds into a nice, unscented lotion, dispensed from a plunger top bottle. Getting the oil infused uniformly looks like the challenge. Heating the lotion is probably not a good idea, thinking about a bowl and spatula, immersion blender or hand mixer... Also thinking of adding liquid aloe, either capsaicin or cayenne pepper, ginger and turmeric. Probably useful to put in a preservative too, if there is something that is safe to use.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Lots of opinions online about how much cannabis oil to put into a topical. Anyone have first hand experience on this? Curious how effective topicals are against joint and muscle pain.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

My EverClear is here, but it is the 151 proof.
If I run it through my distiller, how much would it increase the potency?
Would one cycle get me to the 190 proof or better?

I have found many blurbs on how to dilute alcohol but nothing on increasing it.

Thanks

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Excellent information Circuit! :thanks:
I'm blogging that. Never thought of buying the lotion in bulk. Great idea, bulk it and make it your own with your ingredients.

When I did the most recent batch of creme adding in the CCO, I had to mix it very well as it cooled down and became thicker. I found the oil had settled to the bottom of the crock. I used a hand blender with just one of the blades in it on low. I suppose you could do this with a wire whisk. One of the recipes for cream says to blend it with a blender to allow air into it making for a creamier mixture.

How long have you been using your distiller?

Aloe is supposedly good for helping take out the greasiness, and Vitamin E oil is supposedly good for a preservative. There was another oil that I can't think of at the moment that was a mentioned preservative.

Thanks for the post!
