Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Me too fanny...can any of these sxxxs help?

Cajun....It's a STILL !!! Water is what it legally distills.

Distilling alcohol with this still is easy, but against the law. Like always: Respect the law.

I respect universal laws & mother nature's laws. I think you have to be joking with me cause I'm no fan of Johnny Law. Nor the laws that keep/make people sick for money. It a genetic thing with me I think.
I was cranking out pounds in Texas allegedly. And oil on top of that!
But, if you're serious...
It's a felony in almost every state, including mine, to make cannabis concentrate of any kind. So unless a person has a license, all of us oilers are outlaws.
Not criminals. No victim, no crime.

Hey! So you're treating some puppies? That is so awesome. I wish I knew more about that side of this. Frankly, is enjoy treating animals more than humans sometimes. Seriously. How cool would that be to work with an animal vet?

I'm going to make some of Canna's cream I think. I've got some ribs that never dug my last surgery (they got broke).
I might see what a topical can do.
Who gets the questions? Lol.

:rofl::passitleft:Yep Cajun, joking.

SweetiePie:Love:Sue, I just mean you can use part to smoke, part to bake, and part for oil...no dry spell.:ciao:

Follow Beemer Bill's recipe on my blog cajun, but cut way back on the menthol crystals. Might even leave them out entirely, I think they are mainly for the coolness and fragrance. Kind of like vicks vapo.

Vitamin E oil is fairly easy to find in pharm sections, but you can split up capsules and squeeze that in there as well. I did that.
As you go, you can experiment with using different oils (bases), shea butter or coconut oil etc. I've got african shea butter, it's creamier when it's melted and mixed than the standard shea butters you find.

I just posted a little how-to on making balms that I found today that gives a little insight on choosing what to use as far as a base and some additives to cut down on greasiness if needed. BRB with the link.

Making Cannabalms - lotions - ointments

I'm sure I don't need to say this, but I will anyway...please don't use this stuff near your eyes. :)

My friend with MS has been treating her cat that has an oral tumor with infused olive oil that I made for her. It seems to be helping. :peace:

That's awesome. It will help keep hairballs away too. I put olive oil in the kitty's food every now and then, and tuna oil sometimes too. :)

Should it be "The Oiler Outlaws" or "The Outlaw Oilers"? :) :peace:

Either one...then we could rename ourselves. I'll be "Outlaw Josie Oiler"....

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I'm excited that we moved into the area of topicals here. I ordered a whole slew of things for this last week. I have some dear friends who might be willing to test things. Did we ever determine if using it topically would show up in a drug screening? Damn those tests anyway. I know so many people who could benefit from medicinal cannabis that are fearful of losing their jobs. Such an archaic and repulsive practice should be banned from the workplace. To choose misguided control over the health of your employees is reprehensible to me.

What're they going to do when it's the medical/recreational cannabis job market that's the fastest growing one in our country and they have no decent candidates for the jobs that make you pee in a cup? Let's evolve already.

Sorry for the rant. I see too much suffering in my home community. In my own family, my daughter's partner has a birth defect that fused his bones one ankle, so he's in constant pain with every step. He's working his way through college and works on his feet. If the topicals pollute drug screening tests he won't even consider using a cannabis pain balm. It makes me crazy frustrated to watch this wonderful young man suffer needlessly.

John - that was my thought as well. I think I have about three ounces curing. It's all sativas though. I gave my Afghani away to a cancer patient for sleep meds.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

Sue,

Topicals supposedly do not show up in drug screening because they only penetrate the skin and muscular, not the bloodstream. I posted an article to the blog about it yesterday. Here's a clip of the reasoning in the article:

In theory, the same reason you can’t get high from rubbing them on your skin related is to why using topicals will not cause you to test positive in a drug test.

The THC level in topical products tends to be far lower than that in smokable or edible products. Add that to the fact that applying a topical to the skin only allows it to break the skin/muscular barrier, but not enter into the blood stream. I have not seen any reported cases of positive drug tests from topical applications and the research supports this.

However, depending where you live, there might also be transdermal patches on the market. These work similarly to nicotine patches and do contain components that allow the THC to break into the bloodstream and will cause intoxication and a positive drug test.

The topicals I am referring to only include lotions, balms, salves, and others products that contain cannabis and are rubbed on the skin.

Think about rubbing alcohol. You can rub it on various places on your body, but you will not feel intoxicated or have a BAC over the legal limit if you use it, even though it has a very high concentration of alcohol in it. However, remember that, like the transdermal patch, consuming marijuana in other ways will show up on a drug test.

I posted the full article link yesterday here somewhere.

I say "supposedly" because I have not tested this myself, and this author starts the answer with "In Theory", which tells me she doesn't know this for a fact. I also mentioned I would be performing an at home drug test on my Pops after we start having him use the pain cream.
I'll report my findings when that is done. :)

On the flip side, another article I read from a spa that makes topicals and balms says that you can test positive basically because somewhere along the line a mucus membrane is going to get touched causing it to go your bloodstream. Rub the oil/creme/salve on your body, then touch your eyes or other areas..eat food that you touched afterward,...you get the picture. And of course, the variables are how potent the creme is, how much THC etc.
I have a lot of research to do on this subject yet.

I will have to stop my oil after about a month, if I get called back to work and it's been more than thirty days since I was laid off, it's automatic drug testing to return to work. I found that piece of crappy information out today.

I can see the danger of crossing into the bloodstream, causing a positive test, especially with the potency of the CCO. Drat! I'll wait until you've tested Dad. Maybe with extreme caution.......

I'll be pulling for you on the job front Canna. We don't need you to go through another dry spell again. I bet you've been thinking about how interesting it'd be to find yourself one of those people working in the cannabis industry.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I've been on vacation and busy so am 10 - no, wait, 35 ?? - pages behind, but want to say

glad that this topic got moved to a more appropriate place,

glad that there is a lot of activity to catch up on,

agree that an emergency contact would be nice, having seen somebody on a Paxil withdrawal FB page post a dire message and then vanish, and

I took AM and PM oils with me on my trip. Contact lens case got quite messy; glad I put it in a ziploc bag. Hubs and I had them daily. We can be sloppy tackers, but that is part of the fun. After our breakfast in Hawaii one morning, we realized that we were quite high, so spent several hours on lounge chairs gazing at the Pacific Ocean. It was wonderful.

I never want to be without oil. I've bought my second bottle of everclear; now to rustle up some nice herbage.

I likely will share an official testimonial at some point. I probably mentioned in an intro that I had ovarian cancer a couple years back. Well, I don't anymore. (However, it was my intro to cannabis on a serious level.) Also don't have hypertension, high blood sugar, insomnia, or depression.

re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge

I'll be watching for that testimonial Cannacar, and welcome back from Paradise. I'm hearing in your words that it was a delightful respite. :circle-of-love:

I'm a little intimidated (hope I can perform adequately) and scared too (last month one of my posts got 206K views...afraid to check it now). NO room for error.
Hey Johnnydontbescared,

Let's try to take some of the intimidation away, when you look at the views make sure you aren't looking at the number of "Page" or "Thread" views. That makes a huge difference. Is that what your are looking at?

For anyone else, you can see this by clicking on your member name and then " View forum Posts". The views info is on the right of the post/thread.
