Cannabis Oil Dosing Tutorial: Tacking Method

Yes, by the end of the day he was back to his ornery self. He truly had a bad morning yesterday. He had to take more pain med than normal and of course xanax. I had a hard time convincing him to take the decadron and he would be back to normal. He said he stopped taking it because he thought it wasn't doing anything for him anymore. He now knows once again that it is a powerful little pill. I really hate that he is on it, but he has been on it for almost a year now and it will take a good 6 weeks to ween him off. He really does hate taking pills.

Last night he finally asked me for his oil. I told him not until he ate something so he ate and things went well. Oh and he had also ran out of his smoking weed a few days ago so he was having a double whammy withdrawl. I don't know if he is going to buy some today or not but I won't bring it up. LOL

Speaking of which, how is the hubby feeling. To me just picking up on your vibes he is back to his old ornery self, lol. Tks fghtsmallcell

Good morning everyone. Great discussion going on. I tack 3 to 4 times a day with pretty good results and far as euphoria goes. If I don't hold long enough I will get a little feeling of being stoned. When I tack I hold it in place for at least 10 seconds and then move to another part of the gum and hold again. I tack probably a little to much. I use around a grain of rice each time for my hip pain. I hip pain stems for the muscles not being able to relax. They have no clue why and said I should get cortisone shots. NOT I've had to many of those in my life time. Two weeks ago the herb wouldn't help much so I had to resort to soma and aleve, which helped but it's so bad for you. I should do it like Motoco says and do a little first to get the CB1 receptors going then take your dose. Well if i did that I would have to have someone to smack me in the back of the head so I would take the rest so that's why I do the whole thing. I'm retired so I don't have to worry any more about pee tests so if I get a little stoned so be it. I use Harlequin oil during the day and a good indica oil at night. I live in Washington state and they don't sell anything over 151 and if you buy the everclear you have to sign for it in the store. So I will be ordering some soon and hopefully only pay a fartskin over something. That saying is just to funny. Happy Weedsday guys.

Please take into consideration; starting off is the most important part of the concentrated oil. Start off tacking small amounts, flatten them with a cuticle pusher on your index finger, press firmly and hold for 20 secs, slowly roll your finger up and down and side ways, when it sticks, remove your finger, see where the oil has moved and reapply to a new 'tack' spot right next to it until its gone. I heat up the film on my finger with an hairdryer and use it somewhere, scars, cuts, etc. Take your time and relax. Use a washcloth to dry your gums off before applying. When first using the saliva glands run rampart so if you feel the cannabinoids draining towards the throat gently spit it out. You will feel energetic done correctly (sativa) but if its indica dominant more relaxed with a clear head, if its Indica grown full term its couch time and to being just introduced to the oil can be confused with euphoria.

You've given me plenty to think about. lol I pretty much knew the answer before I asked, thanks for confirming. Everything your saying makes sense to me as I feel like I have been in several of these situations myself. I plan on giving your tacking method a proper run and have tried with some oil I made the last few days. Seems like I'll have to get used to it as I could't get it to tack right. It also appeared to make my mouth water a bit more which I'm sure didn't help, sorta felt it moving around. I'll get it down though.

My order showed up so I am all ready to go, have a mix of chemdawg, blue dream & bubba kush in the freezer getting ready for my first run. Just need to figure out whether I am going to buy or build a small distiller to reclaim the 190 or not. I read a comment that essentially you would be adding water back into the 190 after re-distilling over and over, so I just trying to figure out if this is accurate. If anyone knows about that it would be a great help. I'm not a drinker...

So once again thanks for all the help and friendliness Motoco. Here's to both of our wellness hey! :high-five:

Morning Beemerbill,

When the oil doesn't work its because you didn't hydrate and eat properly and ran your system down. Its easy to lay out your grain of rice on the pinky you use on your dosing hand. Take a cuticle pusher/butter knife, etc, pull off a quarter of the dose and tack the small amount, wait 20 seconds (some just take more time). Dosing the oil correctly with no euphoria is the key to the kingdom even doing nighttime indica for sleep. I boo booed a week ago taking a late morning dose, eating at IHop, going to the grocery store. I didn't get into full orbit but when talking to some friends at the store I was looking at the wife whispering 'did we vape?' before we left home? When you attempt to tack you get a lot less high than not attempting. Also if one becomes euphoric take a small dose, tack it correctly and it will bring you down. Also keep in mind if you catch a bug you will fell slight discomforts (very mild, but you notice the change). We all make boo boo's. Learning what to do when these happen can easily be corrected. Hydration and eating during the day is vital. If you do everything in a consistent regimen while using the concentrate it works miracles. For whatever reasons many folks think of the oil as a novelty and have a reckless regimen. Bottom line, your body loves consistency. Once your take your oil correctly in a few months try a little for euphoria, its just not as appealing as the wellness feeling. I look forward to a couple of vapes before bed. Its like my favorite desert at the end of a busy day. Nice seeing you brother.

Thanks for the reply Motoco. I will try and do the 2 part app. I tacked about 30 minutes ago and my pain is going away. I fell this morning trying to be a kid and that didn't work. I will probably be tacking a little more than usual today. Again thank you for all you do in the research of this great herb.

My new concern with my husband is a spot on his arm that I really hate the look of and am afraid it is cancer. He had 3 spots show up and hands and a shoulder the last couple of months. They stayed on the small side. But this new one is twice as large and is getting bigger. I decided I could not wait anymore and I made RSO from close trim. I put the oil on this spot 1 day ago and will try to keep it covered for 4 days. My plan is to see what happens with it but also I would love to have a dx from at least one of the spots. If is is indeed skin cancer then I will be able to give testimony when I cure the other 3 spots with RSO. There is also a chance that these spots are just keloids which is an over abundance of scar tissue. But the one I am treating right now is much bigger than the others and just does not look like scare tissue to me. All of them are a little crusty on the top. In 4 days we will see where we stand with the big spot. He saw doc today for blood work which is wacky right now so he will have to go back in a week. I may bring it to the doc's attention at that time. I will keep you all posted on that.

Update for hubby today. He felt really good today. He was back to doing everything right and we got the tacks in with no problems. His energy has picked back up although he still wears down quick. But I know this will take time to build up.

Sorry about the new spots fghtsmallcell, but glad to hear things are back on track. I was Stage 3 T3 at the beginning and now I'm in the clear and look forward to hearing the same about all of my 420 compatriots and their loved ones :)

As a side note on the use of oil, I recently noticed that I don't sweat much anymore. Even before I was diagnosed I was the type that would break a sweat thinking about doing manual labor or even peeling an orange for that matter. But now, I can do a full workout or work outside and not need a towel - may not seem like much but pretty amazing for me. It just seems to make everything better.

Thanks Budnoob2, The spots concern me but I am confident it will all be OK. They may not even be cancerous at all. My husband is really starting to get excited about the oil. He is also starting to come out of his depression and I am to see more and more of the man I married. We are both anxious for our first harvest. But I still do not have a line on a CBD strain. I am just too afraid to order the seeds.

Congratulations on kicking cancer's ass!!!!! Does that make you the 2nd official 420 heal?? I am so happy for you and love reading all the good news that is being reported here

Hi budnnob,

What great news friend! Just made my day! Another win for the concentrated oil. WHOOT! Now you will notice so much more it does for you that you where not focused on before. Like the not sweating, ect., allergies, the list goes on and on. One year on PM dose (if you pick up the sativa side from 50-50) you will see a transformation in weight, endurance, the whole nine yards. Enough of that for now. You own me a steak buddy! hahahaha. I'm happier than pigs in slop right now. Baby Back ribs tonight for your celebration. Just so happy for you budnoob. Your study habits are spot on and have been a pleasure to share info with you. :cheertwo::party:

Celebrate time,

Yeah Moto, already noticed weight and energy levels too although wasn't sure how much weight had to do with illness vs. wellness. Lost about 30 lbs since the beginning of the journey but now that I think about it I don't believe I had lost anything early on so it's most likely primarily due to the oil working its magic. I've never had allergies but I can say I haven't had a major cold or flu or anything like that for a long time now, honestly can't remember the last time, but that may also be attributed to lack of exposure and a religious hand washing habit :)

Hi fghtsmallcell,

I wish you had a high cbd strain so your hubby wouldn't need the other pain meds. Yep, when you don't eat or hydrate and you lower your resistance feeling off is the norm. In fact when that happens not much works until as you mentioned he is back on track. Sometimes a bug will make you feel a tad off, but a booster takes care of that. By the way when tacking with pressure your still not going to get the film off your finger, scrap it off on the back of his teeth as waste not want not comes into play, lol. You have paid attention and studied thoroughly. So when the times comes to up his dosing I'll be more specific to insure its done properly. Strains are important and your correct; its BS that folks cannot get what they need for their specific illnesses. Actually those spots could be nothing more than toxins from chemo expelling. I would rather you use a tad of oil mixed with a drop or two of grape seed oil for your topical than shake but if that supply is low, you do what you have to do, right. Things will start getting better and better. I thought though you mentioned your hubbys cancer was in remission from chemo? If so why the buildup to a gram a day? Anyway, once you get a good oil blend for pain and thc ween off the meds and bigger changes will come forth. Your next! lolol

Glad everything is back on track. Your doing great!

Confirmation; Its the oil ! lolol. Everything that improves is from the concentrate. Fact.

LOL @ the 'stalk' comment. I would rather say your just studious and absorb information, lol. I want to thank you for your kind words fghtsmallcell, they mean a lot to the wife and I. As you know, it is very rewarding to help others, the concentrate makes it simply (except for late stage anything).

LOL I knew I was right. He is not getting lazy. Or maybe I should say he is still lazy. The fact is, I have not been able to talk him into doing the tack himself. I know how strange that sounds but I am working on him slowly to get comfortable with the idea of doing it himself. Because once we are able to ramp up to 1 gram a day, I might resent the fact that I have to do this simple thing for him every 2 hours when he should be capable of doing it himself. That being said, I am prepared to continue to do it for him anyway. He has some short term memory issues that just might get in the way of him doing it successfully by himself. And he does trust that I know what I am doing with this.
So I really think the bottom line problem started with him stopping decadron. His pain increased dramatically, Headaches got a lot worse along with other muscle pain and neuropathy issues. His energy level bottom out and yesterday he lost his appetite. Since I did not know how bad his symptoms really were, I went ahead with tacking the oil but he was not drinking and eating. He thought he could sneak that one past me. We do have a pretty good system for tacking him that seems to be working well. I go ahead with the whole grain of rice on my finger (which is heated up with hair dryer) He dries his gum area and then I kinda of dab and smear a little at a time until it is all gone. This ends up with 3-4 different tack areas. But doing it this way also leaves a small glob of oil in each spot. He is very good about keeping it there and takes nothing by mouth for at least 30 minutes usually longer. This has always help to dislodge any extra and it goes down with food or liquids. When he lost his appetite, That changed and the dabs were staying put. I have not mastered your way of tacking with applying the pressure. It just does not want to come off my finger and onto his gum. So I just have been sticking what is working for us and he has no euphoria. I have read so many of your post not just in these 2 threads but on many others and you have posted that is was indeed ok to swallow or take in any other way as long as you get to the CB1 receptors first. I guess you can say I have been stalking you. LOL I just want to absorb as much info that you are willing to share. Thank you again for you time and patients with us. I think I answered all your questions. If I missed something, please let me know.

Thanks Motoco, I cannot wait for my turn!! As for hubby being in remission. They never use that term for extensive small cell cancer. They will use the the term NEAD which stands for no evidence of active disease. He will always be considered in their eyes as terminal. His brain MRI showed 3 tumors, one was too large for radiation to help so it was removed surgically which is not normal protocol for ESCLC. They also always run on the assumption that there are smaller spots that were just too small for the MRI to pick up. Hence the whole brain radiation which was successful for the 2 tumors we knew about. We were told that this gave him an 80% chance that the cancer would not spread again to the brain. The chemo and radiation to the lung greatly reduced the tumor and all that shows up now is a smaller area which they are assuming is scare tissue since in has remained unchanged. There has been no bx done to confirm this. We were also told that his cancer can show up anywhere at anytime. Esp in that scare tissue area, in the liver and bone. We were also told that this cancer will be what kills him. The only positive thing the oncologist has ever said to us is that he is doing better than expected.

Then there is all the info I have been collecting on my online support group with people with exact cancer as him. One person in particular had presumed scare tissue just like my husband and CT scan finally showed it to be active tumor after some time. So with putting this all together I what to get him up to the 1 gram a day for 3 months. I just want to give him the best chance to beat this and rob the doc and infusion center of the opportunity to pump more poison into his veins. Does this make more since to you? What do you think?

I am going to have more questions when the time comes that we are able to ramp up his dose. Like how long does the oil stay seated in the CB1 receptor?? I have seen some schedules you put together for other pt's that have them tacking every 2 hours. So is that about the amount of time the CB1 receptors hold on to it??

As for those spots. The first 2 actually showed up well before we started the oil. The chemo has left his skin so very thin that it rips easily. It is so fragile. And then you add the blood thinner to the mix, his arms are always bruised with ripped skin area. He believes that the bumps are over grown scare tissue. This is entirely possible but this 4 bump is a lot bigger and looks worse. We will have one of them bx to know for sure what we are dealing with but in the meantime I am using what I can get my hands on like you said. The higher quality product is strictly for tacking until we have our own harvest which should get the ball rolling for us. I am lucky to have such good friends to help us out with some close trim to work with. And the oil ended up pretty strong for what is was. These are friends that would do almost anything for us.

The CBD strain is a huge hurdle for me, I racked my brain everyday and I have a solution. It is not ideal but I have to do something. That CBD strain would take care of all the side effects of weening off the decadron. Plus it sounds like it would have all the same good benefits while not having the bad side effects. A win win.

Sorry for using the stalking comment. I did not mean to sound creepy. I just meant I have been browsing around all the threads on RSO and pay particular attention when you have made a post on them. I promise I am not creepy. I am hungry for knowledge.

Bottom line. The doctors consider my husbands tx palliative, That is not good enough for me. I want the tx for a CURE!!
