Ouu!
Those are nice looking couple of plants. It looks like you will be rewarded well for your time and efforts.

Alberta is flat indeed. Not nearly as flat as Saskatchewan though... you can see the curvature of the earth there! Lol!

Alberta has its mountainous scenery’s, just not anywhere where I live! Lol I’ve gotta Mosie on down the flat ass highway west, about two hours!

My wife’s from port Alberni and I hear the flat lander jokes every day!:laughtwo:

oh geez,,

as the clouds lift,,

Hi folks since we are in the middle of harvest season I'm just curious how everyone dry's and cures their buds in our Canadian climate from the west coast to the east coast from the north to the south, how do you do it? lol... I wet trim then hang mine in wooden cabinet in cool temps around 50F and humidity under 40% and a lil breeze from a fan across the room for air flow for about a week, then test for the snap factor if so then I'll do a lil dry trim up then mason jar burped them for a month. Never had issues with mold or loss of terpenes or flavor and very smooth. The last part about being smooth I think is achieved every time because of the slow cold temp curing. :)

That's the secret to a smooth, tasty smoke is a long drying period. I final trim fresh off the plant then put the buds in doubled up paper bags and dry in my cool basement for up to 5 weeks depending on temps. Then when put into cans it's still moist enough to form one big clump at first. A few more weeks of burping gets them just dry enough to snip off bits to hit in my pipe but you couldn't put it in a grinder unless you set a few buds out for a couple hours to dry up enough to be able to crumble by hand.

I hate the living shit out of trimming tho.

:peace:

I am trying, from the scruffier gals, going straight from hang dry into mason jars to be decarbed, three jars at a time, in a little toaster oven. Then into a small mason jar with Coconut oil and lecithin and I'm going to let it float around in my water furnace reservoir for a few days. The water is between 50 - 70 C. I will freeze the decarbed stuff until needed. I'm figuring that there is no need to cure and burp and all that stuff if I'm just using that part for oil or edibles or anything other than smoking (actually vaping) - I hope this works!!!:hmmmm:

I'm making fresh harvest infused coconut oil with buds right off the plant or frozen fresh for later use then heat the oil up to 250F after the water in the buds boils off so I decarb right in the oil.

At those low temps I would give it a lot longer than a few days but I've never tried it that way so it might work fine.

Heres one of the jars of my Chocolata, I just opened the jar to burp it, and I could smell the small hints of chocolate. A little strange I must say. I couldnt smell it before, but its starting to show now that its been curing.
Getting the kitchen all cleaned up and ready to go for the take down of god bud. Hope everyone is enjoying the rest of their weekend.

This year I have the best setup for drying I’ve ever had. I cleaned out the room my tent was in because the entire room is going to become a dedicated grow room. Hung my racks and a 4x12 piece of fencing from the ceiling and put a dehumidifier in there set at 60% rh.

My bud has been drying there and after 16 days, the first was jarred with a Bodeva 62 pac and a humidity meter. Been holding at 61% for the past 3 days...room dried it perfectly to be able to go straight into jars and no need to burp them.

Hey Med - I know it is an experiment but I am hoping that time is more important than heat - since I have decarbed prior to adding to the oil - at least that's my hope!!!:Namaste: I just like the idea that it is free and I don't have to monitor water levels, etc. Not sure how many more times I can boil my wife's Rice cooker dry before I'm in the doghouse!!!

I either use a crock pot with my variac to control temps easier or just a cooking pot on a hot plate that I also use the variac to run. A wire screen on the hotplate so the pan doesn't have direct contact.

I don't use any water but the buds were fresh frozen so they have a bit that gets boiled off during the process. Once it's gone then the temp can be raised to 250 for the decarb. I use a laser thermometer to check temps.

I'm in trim jail atm and already canned 600g wet of my CBD plant that's still outside and it's -12C again tonight. She sure could have used a couple more weeks of warm weather and sun to finish up properly. The trichs are all milky and it's really sticky-icky and gumming up my Fiskars every 5 min. I think I can get 3L in the big crock pot so will do up a big batch and freeze most in mason jars. So much sugar trim too. I'll make dry sift from that and then turn it into oil that I can make some roll-on ointment with DMSO and try making some e-cig juice.

I scrounge most of my gear from thrift stores and garage sales so I don't have to raid the kitchen and catch hell. She doesn't mind messing around in the shop and never putting tools back tho. :)

LOL... Same here some real gems and a few duds at Value Village thrift shops or what my wife and mother like to call.... V.V. Boutique ... I can't wait till you can score some extra hydroponic or lighting items at places like that. ;)

I'm only 5 plants behind and another 4 that will need end of October to be ready.

When i jar my weed after drying nets I always do a tiny jar for early smoking. It's a good way to learn how important curing in jar for 1-2 weeks extra and satisfying the urge to know if weed is good or frigg'N awesome early.
I did alot of canuk seeds strains and when i get a chance i can rank my view on the smoke for smell, taste, and quality of stone when i get a chance.

Has anyone heard of putting a sweet potato slice in over dried weed to bring little moisture back ?
I over dried my broken branches weed because i forgot about it(didn't care). But it turned out to be some pretty good stuff to smoke. Just a little to dry and want to take harshness out because it good stone but puff, cough, cough, cough, puff, cough, cough , cough :cough:

No sir, but I have used an apple and orange slices to re hydrate really dried out buds in a plastic bag before it works and gives a hint of apple or orange depending on what you used lol. You could try a wet towel under a dome with the buds suspended over it to re hydrate the bud too. Good luck!
