Canadian Growers Group & Friends

Well the leading edge passed in about 10 mins, but it hit like a hurricane. I walked out to the garage (about 50’) to get my steak off the bbq when a close crack of thunder hit and before I could put the steak on the plate, it hit.

High winds, sheets of rain and then the hail hit, pieces the size of marbles, I waited for the hail to slack and made a dash for the house, my steak got a bath  and so did I.

The rain let up a bit so I took a walk out back to see what damage the girls took, nothing too severe I don’t think, but will do a thorough check tomorrow.

Thunder is getting closer and power starting to flicker  could be a good one, just hope there’s no hail, the girls won’t like that
Crazy!! ....Well say hi to Dorathy and Toto for me, if you see them in Oz!.... I hear the wicked witch has some killer weed or was that poppy's? .... Make you go oooooh weeee ooooh lol

No tornadoes here and haven’t heard yet any reports of one but I have no doubt that there could have been water spouts out on the bay, conditions were right for them to spawn.
Wow! .... In that case sending prayers to the pot Gods to make sure your crops make it threw that storm. :) Good luck my friend!

Well as fierce as that storm front was, no major damage here.

This girl got a lean but nothing too major

I half assed propped her back up and this morning she is fine :) I will make some serious props for her in case this was just a prelude to our fall weather here.

One of the 5 gallon girls toppled over but she is fine. Other than that, I lost a tree limb:

and the pumpkin patch took the worst damage, leaves look like someone shot them with buckshot

Thankfully my girls are just starting into bud and no heavy colas yet, or the wind, rain and hail could have seriously caused them grief.

Just checked the long range forecast, Hurricane Laura appears as though she will make landfall around Houston, TX later today or tonight. Hopefully our friend in that area will have good shelter for themselves and are able to protect their crops.

The remnants of Laura are supposed to pass over us here over the weekend but as she will be travelling over land, we shouldn’t have anything more than a fall storm. Its hurricanes that come up the Eastern Seaboard that cause us the most grief. They tend to maintain strength and can reach us as hurricanes and tropical storms. Thankfully, the last severe one we had was Juan about 17 years ago.

Just wanna let anyone whos on here to that might live in Saint John or close by. There's a despensary that just opened called sweet leaf. I'm just a customer got nothing to do with the place.
But they got the dopest dope around. Got some wedding crasher, purple dos is do, and purple gelato. And it is all so good.
Apparently they will be selling seeds soon of all the strains they have soon.
I know this got nuutin to do with growing but, I just want anyone who might be in the area to get to try this shit. Cause like i said... Dopest dope!!

Pretty wild night here in SJ too. Think my dog is still traumatized lol.

Anyone consider growing in one of the reusable shopping bags? Obv some would be better then others but, the Canadian tire ones seem like they'd be perfect. And the little green ones from Sobeys seem like they'd be good.
You would think they'd be alright.

It Would also depend on what side of the fence you're on about possibly smoking micro-plastics.

:rollit: :yummy:

First look at Mamba Negra from Blimburn seeds.
Germinated on Aug 15 in peat pellets
Transplanted to a white solo cup that I wrapped in black electrical tape.
Growing in fox farm ocean forest that I put in the cup a week or so ahead of time and watered it twice and let it dry before planting because the soil is rich for young plants I find. So I wash a bit away first.
For lights its under 2 sunblaster t5s
Water when the cup is light, with ph'd tape water.
Seems like good growth for 14 days. One more node and I'll start giving it 1/3 nutes. Fox farm grow big, see how she likes it.
