Canadian Growers Group & Friends

Hi Foster clone trading is frowned upon here so I wouldn't talk about it in a open forum if I was you. Also a very good way to get bugs so I avoid for that reason alone.

Completely agree. Might just receive a teddy talk for that

No harm done tho

Cheers

I’ve not tried Canuck Seeds, although I think I have a freebie or 2 of theirs from a TNSB purchase.

I don’t often buy from TNSB as I try as much as I am able to purchase strains directly from the original breeder, or in the past from Herbie’s and GTA Seed, but in original breeder packs. I find TNSB prices to be too high and often what ever I was looking for at the time was “out of stock”.

I did buy my Resin Seed Cannatonic from TNSB when they had a 50% off sale but even then they were out of fems lol

The Blue Dream in my garden this year is from my own S1 stock I bred over the winter. The original plants came from HSO who are the original breeder of BD.

The 4 in the garden have become massive with the LST they got. One covers about 16sqft and is over 4 foot tall, just a big cube

G"Day Canadian Cannabis growers,

I'm curious as to what everyone in Canada uses as insecticides and fungicides for out door crops. Or indoor, didn't mean to leave you all out, just figured the out door growers deal with it more.

And of course organic/natural types of remedies/solutions. Lets keep it a chemical free zone, unless there is no other solution.

Or what home made concoctions you use for preventive or all out outbreaks.

I ask because alot of the products talked about on here (420 mag), or recommended by others are hard to find in Canada, from my experience.

i have used up until now that they are in flower
-Neem oil
-Castile soap (Bronners)
-Rosemary oil
mixed in sprayer with water
This was for general use as all around preventative bug spay, possibly killer.

Also used BTk for the odd caterpillar and other leaf chewers i seen over the summer, maybe four times.

Now that we are into the cooler part of the summer (its 30 plus humidity here today:rofl:) and Powdery mildew/mold will be the next fight...

Anybody use Safers brand products?

Stay safe out there...:surf:
:rollit:
I put small amount of neem oil in my weekly foiler spray like yuo, half of suggested. once a week every week until flowering starts. I do this outside every year and find this keeps me from losing anything to bugs. Now i use dockor doom because neems oil is a MF'ker and not all plants like it and stink. I'd never use on flowering plants unless bugs are bad bad.
*** neems oil is nasty stuff, not all plants like it so I only spray leaves that are infected and wait and see how they react before doing rest of plant, I'd suggest this with any inspect sprays. And NEVER SPRAY BUDs never, sure everyone knows this.
I'm like you mate and I like that most sprays are 3 and 1 so go after mold too. Also believe bugs leave open wounds on plants which leads to future mold problems so i'm looking to prevent before it happens buy including in foiler spraying.
Indoors i treat different;
sometimes indoor I'll make a hot pepper mix and pepper spray them in the face, but I work more on keeping room bug free that tent or grow room is in.
If I find a centipede i will trap and move to room, ladybug too but they stupid and eventually fly to the light :thedoubletake:

I have used Safers but with 7 plants on the go it got real expensive - so - I have been trying Dawn, Murphy's Oil Soap and Mrs. Meyers Handsoap - about a table spoon per gallon of water - they all "seem" to work but not 100% kill on Aphids it doesn't seem - I'm not sure how long it should take to kill them (1 hour, 2??) but I'm not really satisfied with my results - it is an ongoing battle - I could spend all day going from plant to plant and some days it seems like I had spent all day doing just that!!!
Any other good ideas - Ladybugs, sulphur burn in the greenhouse??

Hi greenjeans was wondering could you use more fans in your green house to keep stuff really moving around so bugs have a harder time landing and staying on the plants, kinda like tent growing? lol... Just thought its a low cost natural way instead of insecticides. As for soil bugs maybe try electrodes sending a pulse in the ground causing bugs to stay away... :) K maybe that last ones a bit of a stretch but it should would be awesome. :)

clover(help with N too), catnip(careful with this one) , dill, chives, and anything else you'd like on your baked potato.

it is also a living mulch, nitrogen fixer, good bugs like it (bee's like alot), helps maintain moisture and is lucky!!
the bad; rabbits and deer like it to eat.

I apologize but:
My back in the day story,
sooo back in the day (early 90's) we did bush grows in summer. Are biggest problem wasn't the 5-0's airplanes in the sky or theft it was animals and mostly dumbass deer(they love new flowering). We use to race at the local circle track so all winter we worked on the cars and drink shite load of beer and smoke weed. We'd get big garabage can and fill with binding twine(for haying). Then we'd piss and what ever depending how liqoured up we where in garabage can all winter :sorry:. Then we'd head to bush (are spots) and set up about 5 or 6 grows and circle that stinky binding twine around grow and no more animals trying to eat or roll in are bush grow.

I always piss around my plants..but I like your method of using soaked twine..I'm don that starting this fall lol..Thanks for the idea :passitleft:

Milk crates lined with burlap. Benefits of a fabric pot, with built in handles, also doesn't shift around when you're lifting it.
PopShop had nice ones..what about drywall mud containers? They are at least 5 gal, strong white plastic with handles.
You can drill holes in em.
They can be found at housing construction sites.Ask the dry wallers to keep em for you. #plaster #dumptoo

If you must spread baler twine out in nature could you please make it sisal twine....please. I am begging for the animals.

A minimum of 70% of birds have disappeared completely and my neighbors still think it's cool to let their cats roam everywhere. I was enjoying the robins and squirrels that I had.

What a mess we've made of it all. Growing up I enjoyed the rides through the country filled with life as far as one could see, the sounds and scenes were incredible. Now all that's left is green water and silence.

I've been telling the local farmers for years now... how do you make a dessert?....carry on. Sorry about that Manitoba.

Looks like we here in the Maritimes are in for (or already getting) some severe weather.

Winds here have already knocked 2 of the 5gallon girls over and the storm hasn’t even hit us yet.

Not sure how the NB guys are fairing but TWN is calling for high winds, heavy rain, large hail and supercells with tornadoes being possible. Supposed to reach us here in the next hour or so.
