I would, moreover, do not try garlic, soap, ect. Those are wast of time and effort. In veg, my local grow store guys say to dunk you vegging plants once a week or spray if there too big. Bomb 2 week of bloom with azatrol (I'll check name again) it protects for 30 days by changing the taste of your plant to where mites will starve. However if ur using any UV-B (MH/DE HPS/CMH) lights it will break it down quickly. So do not use in veg.

I got an update, got my freaking bad ass LEDS in today and I'll be posting some pics of them! Man can I say these this are heavy as fuck and their build structure is just top class I will have to admit ! These leds admire nice as heck and heavy duty and BRIGHT AS HECK,! Like I can't look longer than 5 min any where near them! Enough enough,

I'm just waiting on coco to start this grow! Oh and some door hinges for the closet that my grow is going in! Thanks to the wife big an ass bout it lol

I do not think autos are the future. I think they provide a niche kind of grow and are good for beginners, people who can't run 2 grow areas, and hobbiests. Can you get the same yield in weight off an auto as a photo? Unequivocally, yes. However, these plants have ruderalis in their genetics along with some combination of sativa and indica. As such, they necessarily will produce lower amounts of THC per gram of harvested bud than will photos. For this reason, photos will continue to be the standard grow for commercial applications and most amateur grows of any size.

At the risk of jinxing my space ...... 4 months mite free, to date. I've had them in the past, though, and this reminds me, I need to pick up something to have on hand.
 
There's no doubt they are great plants - I mean I pulled over a pound dry off four this month. But I've been growing for 20 years, off and on, and smoking pot for 30+, and I don't need a lab to tell me the strength isn't there in the autos I've run, compared to their non auto genetic relatives. Does that really matter? I dunno. Pot is so much stronger now than it was 30 years ago, if there's a weaker version of a good strain that grows in 3 months, seed to harvest, is that a bad thing? *shrug* It's what works in my garden space, though, so it's what I'm growing, and it definitely works for me. The people I give it away to aren't complaining at all, either.
 
Well here are a few examples of what I was able to do with ~320W.



I call this the Dorm closet special.



All these flower are now in week 7, I'm thinking next Monday for a few, I see some all white hairs on one and it seems to be about one week behind the others.


I have no idea how much weight I'll get but it should work.



The biggest difference that I see is that HPS and I'm sure LED is the level of frost on the flowers. Since I'm new to this I am not sure what is normal.

Not to contradict, but I actually have seen some EXTREMELY potent autos in my time. Cream Caramel won some awards a while back, and was an AUTO, wow, whoda thunkit, huh? Don't go selling auos short on potency just because of their ruderalis lineage, that can be coaxed to sleepy time all except the auto part. You'd be amazed.

The biggest advantage of photo is this reason:

with autos there will be an ever increasing need to continually buy more and more beanz, whereas in my case, I can clone, and veg and keep genetics indefinitely, and when I find a strain I like, (all things being equal) I never have to keep pouring money into another company to get more of that strain. I simply cut stems, root them, and voila! I have more plants to flower later. There is the major advantage that I see for photo over auto.

If you do get mites, and are in California, look up a miticide called "Green Clean (really works) mites" <<---type that very phrase into goaoaoaoaoggogogaoalll search engine place. (you know the one with two "O's)


Well, because, it really does... usually in one application- and it's completely safe even on day of harvest.

It's not a contradiction, really :) Some autos can be really potent. Some of mine have knocked me on my arse, but they're just not as potent as the photos, strain by strain. I mean, an autoflower blueberry won't have the THC in it that a blueberry photo will because it's watered down, genetically, with the ruderalis. The autoflower blueberry might be way stronger than an autoflower narcotherapy, but you get my point. Obviously, the breeders are pushing the strains to more and more THC, and some autos are seriously potent.

And, yeah, clones are the biggest reason I can think of to run photos. Free plants! What's not to love about that.
 
I think autos are perfect to try out new strains thats why I started mine that and to fill a void after my outdoor is done. I also like that they arent as sensitive to light leaks and schedules and all that. Plus i can have 2 going at a time with 1 in veg and 1 in bloom with the same light in the same room so they are on about a month cycle for harvest.

Baxter that's what I see them being useful for plus you can have them flower while you veg a photo to bridge till harvest that's what I plan on doing my next grow.

I had SNS... FOR MITES! got the concentrate to make more.

made 2.5 GALLONS, 4 weeks, still had mites.... Suffered massive damage.





8oz of Green Clean, One Gallon, one application, done. you tell me which I'll stick with.

AHHH... I see what you're getting at there... Yeah, Strain V Strain auto is like lite beer not as strong as it's full fledged brand. Gotcha. The silver bullet is notorious for it: watered s down swill.
