Cajuncelt's Spring 2015 Grow - Blue Dream - Bubba Kush - Critical Cure - Etc

I gave the WW her first taste of the essential oils last night so guess we shall see what happens.....:circle-of-love:

Which oils and at what concentrations Dennise? How far along is she? I have a WW myself with about a month to go and I also have some lavender oil. I'm wondering if the lavender would be effective here?

Dang, this lil grow is starting to move along. I keep getting lost trying to keep up.
For the moment though,
Good luck D. I hope it's worth it. All I can say is that they use this at work & the trichs are ridiculous.
Use it like SS. It's similar in that is creates the stress hormone like the Tria stuff in SS, but organically without the extra Phosphate salt & stuff. I don't use any foliars, never have, but these oils I am at the moment.

Sweet. Is the color change strain-specific or is it the chill of approaching winter?

It's the strain. I'm hitting it up with oils, but don't see snow yet. Only 1 dose.

Bonjour mon ami. :hugs:

I sent you a PM on Thursday with my email. I'd appreciate those ebooks on oil at your convienence, thanks. No rush - I won't have much time for a bit longer, but I'd like to begin studying.

You stopping for coffee later? Good, I'll watch.

I'm glad you reminded me!

The more I get to know you (and understand you :green_heart:) the more I like you!!!! You are still making me smile. :circle-of-love: :peace:

Yep, this is the karma yard.

Thank you for that smile super. :circle-of-love: I've kind of made it my goal in life to make him smile more. I'm not giving him much say in the matter, and he's being really good about it. :laughtwo:

Lol. You're awesome Ms. Sue.

Oh, I can't remember if I posted this.
So, as my 1st home grown all organic grow, I'm happy so far. Except adding some Big Worm, I haven't touched the stuff. It smells great too. Especially when I water.
I expected alil cal/mag deficiencies along the way due to the RO water & LED, but not so far. They're about 2-3 weeks behind a hydro grow, but for no nutes, they're happy.

When I water my no-till, in its fourth (?) cycle now, the soil smells strongly reminiscent of a forest - you know that rich smell you get under fallen logs? Yeah, that. I love it. The smell of good, rich soil.

So do you think I could use Lavender oil in a foliar? I've never used a foliar other than these ones I use with the Kit, but they're highly engineered. I guess what I'm asking is are any oils more effective, and would it be more effective to mix more than one? This is an intriguing concept. I understand completely why it works, I was just surprised that essential oils would cause the stress levels necessary to threaten the plant into higher trichome production. Thinking about it though the oils would begin clogging things up.

I don't know about lavender. Only the few I listed. I don't understand/know why those specific oils do what they do. I do for the antifungus & bug prevention, but not the trichs.
Has something to do with more terpene production too.
I frankly think foliar feeding is a bad idea. That said, I'm not prepared to argue with what I've seen so far.

Sue I ordered the 5 essential oils Cajun listed... Rosemary, oregano, thyme, clove and cinnamon... You only mix 1/4 tsp (of them all total) to a gallon of water then fill your sprayer and spray at lights off I would assume and am doing.... The only way I could figure out to get the right amounts with it being that small of an amount was to pull 1/4 tsp out of each bottle and mix them all together then pull 1/4 tsp out of that and mix in the gallon of water...... I am actually using the Ultra Snow Storm too... I probably won't give her any more of the USS now that I have started using the oils but that will depend on how well they work... I can tell ya the 2 autos that have gotten the USS and are about ready to chop are absolutely covered in trichs.... I love that stuff and I just wanted to see if this would work as well and if so... I like the idea of it being all organic but if it doesn't work as well as the USS I will get over it not all being organic...:) ..... High Cajun.... Love ya Mean it......:circle-of-love:

I can certainly understand that Dennise. :laughtwo: This is an experiment I'll sit out and observe.

LA, I suspect there's a scientific principle at play that makes the mixing of oils more effective. Your concern about your plants adapting may be misplaced and may deprive you of the very benefit you're seeking. Just an intuitive thought, mind you, but one that forced its way out.

The oils cause an antigonistic reaction in the plants. They interpret the oil applications as being wounded and it's the particular molecular make-up of those oils that cause the reaction. That's why I questioned lavender. It's used as a cleansing herb and I suspect it wouldn't cause the same almost allergic reaction you're trying to create.

I started the foliar spray of essential oils tonight, :)
Instead of mixing the oils to have one multi spray, Im gonna switch hit between my 2 so the plants dont ever have the chance to get used to them :)

Me being me lol, Ive totally ignored the types of oils suggested and gone for my own lot :)
To me were just talking immune systems, just like our bodies the plant tells when a invading toxin is present and simply reacts to this invader by protecting itself.
So without any data etc id guess that most if not all essential oils would work. Maybe some a touch better than others but id guess mostly a likeness.

Then if we follow this train of thought then the switch hitting makes sense. Any toxin within us normally will have a tolerance built against it over time. Plants (especially these :) ) have been round longer than us.... so why not credit them with an imune system just as efficient? ?????

All were doing in the end is purposely throwing our plants chemical balance out of whack! So in a way id go for oils at opposite ends of the spectrum as it were for max effect. Hence my pink grapefruit and spearmint oils :)

Just the way my noggin works, I could be wrong lol. :)

I think this site runs on the genius of those who refuse to play by the rules and accept the status quo. B A R is cloning autos and Cajun is still alive. You, my new friend have been a leader in this regard. Thanks for reminding me of that wonderful feature of our beloved site and for reminding me of why we love you so much. :circle-of-love:

:bigblush: Aww shucks. ..your really sweet to say such kind words. I can assure everyone though, it aint out of wisdom more ignorance that I am the way I am.
Ive never researched much apart from when I first started out. Ive never researched anything off this site and thats a fact lol. Yet its all been about the journey for me. I like to bumble along and work everything out for myself. Ive never seen any failure as such just another lesson learned.
Everything has kind of made sense with me and this beloved plant of ours, then as said I love pushing stuff for the hell of it. :)
But mainly Im just ignorant as said :) take when I met REMO off YouTube at Spannabis. We just asked what he was eating on our first night. He was sat on next table with one of his group and my missus just leaned over and goes ooh that looks nice can I ask what it is. We had zero idea who he was lol. Then the next day we were walking around and noticed people like the owner of BFarm go running up to the chap to get a selfie with him?!?!? (Pestered everywhere)
Now I can call him a friend and its probs down to the fact we treated him like a nobody in the first place :) :)

Anyway lol Im over medicated on some of the Truth! and rambling on. :) sorry.

Oh and Cajun my friend, I wanted to inquire on wether re veg girls are ever used in professional growing?

I enjoy a good ramble, and I don't think Cajun will mind. It's nice to see I'm not the only one who gets long-winded when I'm buzzed. LOL! That childlike wonder that you approach this cultivation pastime with is your big draw. Nothing slows you down. I understand unquenchible enthusiasm and yours is always delightful to witness.

Thanks for the morning smile LA. Nice talking to you. :battingeyelashes:

Not that I've seen so far. But, I've seen a few reveggers in some pro growers' home grows.

He's very humble & won't brag on himself. So, we'll do it for him.

In training today in Pueblo.
I'm learning how important CO2 is. I've never really used it a lot cause of tents, but I'm getting plenty of crash courses in it.
A few of my plants in flower got trashed today. The Head Grower came through just saying "nope, nope and nope" and just removed them. They were a little behind, but very healthy & doing great. Very, very picky about laggers. I'm still not used to that.

Well, the home girls are moving along. I top dressed them with some Big Worm last night and will be flipping them in a few weeks. I'm about to start taking cuttings for clones. Maybe Friday?
I'm still spraying the autos with the oils. I'm noticing a difference now. The bud sites on the plants with the spray have big white pistols & the ones without are a lil underdeveloped compared to the sprayed gals.
I'll post pics when I get home.

I'm looking forward to those pictures Cajun. I'm going to give this a go when I start up again after my trip and it's so nice that all of you are going to let me watch it work. :battingeyelashes:

I seperated the Autos from the Photos. The Autos are in the flower tent now. The pics with the oils are there since they're the Autos. It's the journal under this one in sig.

Getting a lil size, so moved autos out.
The bigger girls will outgrow this space soon so I'll be moving them too.
All the germinating autos are up now too.
