Buysser's Very First Grow - Mars II 1600 Watt Attic Grow Using Growology

How far away are your lights from the Seedlings? Too much intense light is not good for the young plants especially if the temperatures of the room fluctuate.
so I am I wasting my time trying to nurture the Ripper toxic that I stunted the growth of? no clue what to expect. Thanks
I would continue growing those Rippers, most plants bounce back even when stunted. They just need a little TLC.

The plants have been at four inches but I recently moved them to six

Can you please take some photographs of your plants to show me what you are describing as a possible deficiency?

Hey King
Here's my thinking for what it's worth ... I've read a couple times that you should use a cal mag supplement with RO water but really do want to try a complete growology grow if possible. Something simple for other newbies like myself.
But last night I checked on them after nap time and my royal queen critical had some curling up of leaves and bit of shrivel if you will on the end of the leaves. I looked it up and saw that leaves curling up can *can* be caused by a cal mag deficiency so that's what prompted me to post that out there. I raised the lights on one end and it seems to have less curling this morning but the abnormality is still on the end of the leaves. Here's a shot from top that hopefully shows leaves and a bad shot from the side to try and catch the leaf curling.. Great learning curve for me. Thanks King And Everyone
:thankyou:

If you are using Reverse Osmosis water you will need to use a calcium and magnesium supplement to make up for what the water is lacking for plants. I use Botanicare's Cal-Mag Plus as a calcium and magnesium supplement.

Thanks King.. That was my next question, what do you use? Just ordered it...

Anything else on the photos you could see? Curling is better but the ends of royal still look a little funky.. thanks

What height do you have your light set at? For babies you need to keep it a bit higher, 30/36" is a safe height for seedlings :)

Hey Skunny
Little confused here. always been under the belief that I start lights close then move them 5 to 6 inches away. if 3 feet, I will have to put them under the LED because I don't have that height in my nursery.
Tks my friend

Sorry mate, with the lighting in your picture I guessed they were under LED now. If you're using CFL then 6" is fine. The 3ft measurement was for LED =/

No problem skunny. Nice to hear the confirmation I'm doing something right.

I've read a couple forums that put them under led pretty quick on 18/6. There careful to stay away sty least 30". What are thoughts?? maybe I'm just anxious to turn the beast loose.

I personally think LED's are a bit harsh for seedlings unless kept at a good distance & I get great results starting them under CFL. That's not to say what I do is the only way, it's just how I like to do it. :)
I did try some under LED when they were still young but they were stretching a bit too much so I put them back under CFL. I like to keep my plants short & bushy so it suits my style but by all means try it out & see what you prefer :)
There is no right or wrong way to do anything where growing cannabis is concerned, you just find what suits & works best for you :)

Interesting skunny because under LED, my inter-node distance stayed tight and compact until flipped. Almost too tight actually. I kept my light at 28"-30" early on and lowered it to 20"-22" and then raised it every few days as they stretched. I think they finished both times inside 15" but that seemed to be the ticket.

Mmmmm, that is interesting. I wonder if it varies from strain to strain? I had my LED at around 30" if I remember correctly & lowered it down to 24" bit by bit as I searched for the sweet spot. Mine are sativa dominant which usually want to be tall & leggy but I've managed to keep them short, they currently measure 10", 12" & the tallest is 16" with almost 3 months of veg.

Seems like it might vary strain to strain. I think I'm going to give it a try on the next grow.. Finally got this one somewhat dialed in and don't want to experiment although it makes good sense to me that LED at a safe distance might do a plant good.. More reports later!! For now, the beast sits idle...
