BrixNewb's First Grow & Beyond

I am going to have to attempt to clone your OG Kush

Man... I'm kinda feelin guilty about not saying these words sooner...
She's hard to clone. The absolute earliest I see roots is 2 full weeks. Often, it's 4 weeks before I see roots.
In my little world, it can be difficult to provide a stable environment for 4 weeks, so I often have failed clones or damaged clones.
Having said that, I have kept those genetics going for several years now, so obviously far from impossible.

You told me. Truth is I ran out of space and had to cull it. Don't know that I even got to take a clone, so maybe another time. Still working on my cloning technique figuring out what works for me. Last few seeds I have planted have been hit or miss, mostly miss, so also working on that. Luckily I have plenty of seeds.

Been too long since I was able to get the girls together for some pics, but I have done it!

First off in the bloom tent I have a Northern Lights (Nirvana) baby.

Next I have a Bubba Kush that had an accident early on, so lower leaves are crispy in places.

Next we have Blue Dream Clone #1 who was flipped a few days ago if I recall.

Then there is Blue Dream Clone #2

Then there is the mother, Blue Dream in veg, looking really nice. Super frosty and the main cola is looking great!

That's about it, won't be around for probably a month or so, going to be very busy coming up, but hopefully by March things will have settled down a bit.

Good Gawd that Blue Dream is seriously sexy!
Happy travels!

It's always good to hear encouraging words from a fellow grower, especially one as skilled as you Tead man. We can be so critical of ourselves at times, a kind word makes me think I am too hard on myself at times. Lately I have been feeling good about my bloom plants, seems they are doing better with a double water between drenches. Now I seem to have issues with cloning and starting seeds, areas I never had issue with before. But I am trying new things to find what works, it's an interesting experiment.

I have issues with seeds and clones when the temps and humidity drop. I tried different things myself and ended up doing both in 2Ls with pure perlite. I don't use a dome or anything... just stick a clone in the top of a 2L.

I know what you mean about being a perfectionist. I had it pop up in a different angle today. I was working on tags to go on bags of glitter being used as a Mardi Gras throw for Krewe du Vieuxe. Took me forever... but I finally ended up with this....

Fun... but damn it took me forever!

I know the clones have roots, because I gave them a nice tug and they are firmly in the Rapid Rooters, so I went ahead and threw them in one gallon pots and watered them heavy. We will see how they look when I get back!

So I have some changes coming to the grow. I am doubling my grow area, going to have a 4x4 tent for veg and a 4x8 tent for bloom. Also going to have COB lighting for each area. It's a costly upgrade, but I am not able to keep up with my needs with the current setup. This should afford me a lot more flexibility and I am hoping the COBs make heat more manageable while improving the product as well.

I had to go with Timber grow lights. Getting the frames and everything from them. To me it's worth it just to be able to hang it and be done. If you give them a call Dan will take the time to go over everything with you and help you decide what you want. I ended up dropping a pretty penny, but honestly it should pay for itself within the first year, so I can't complain.

Well guys, I am back from Jamaica and settling back in to things around here. I came back to find that 3 of my Blue Dream clones took while the 4th I believe has taken and is just lagging behind. My Northern Lights and Bubba Kush are all still alive, maybe a little yellow, but growing nonetheless.

In bloom the Blue Dream is almost ready for harvest, foxtails everywhere, covered in frost. The two younger Blue Dreams are almost to bud set with nice frost showing already. I believe that I will Cat Drench one and not the other and see how they compare once finished.

Exciting times coming soon, within the next month or two I am going to be doubling the bloom and veg area and will be installing all new lighting. Hoping it gives me the room and results I am hoping.

So I am back with an update, just a parade of Blue Dream plants, the mother and her two teen daughters. The teens are looking GOOD! No Cat Drench for either this far, only going to Cat one of them to see if I can tell a difference.

Blue Dream mother is foxtailing like crazy, the top cola looks like an alien. I am going to give her another week or two before I bring her down.

I almost forgot, I just got my shipping notification from Timber Grow Lights. Should be Monday at the latest and I will have some sweet COBs for the tent! Super excited.

Those guys at Timber are making it hard to go with anything else - very competitive pricing! Sounds like their personal service is top-notch too.

Grats! :thumb:

Thanks! Dan is a top notch guy. He took the time to help me decide what to get based on my needs and actually steered me towards the cheaper COBs versus more expensive ones. I called when the product was just about to ship and switched to the CXBs and he was happy to do it. He is always just a phone call away. He went out of his way to help me out, so I can't complain about the customer service of Timber whatsoever. I will be able to report back on the products shortly.

Hey bud, looking good over here! Glad you 2 made it back safe. So did you like Montego Bay better than Negril?

Just a tip, you might want to try about 2-3 tablespoons of the blood meal on your teens, it will help slow that fade and if you run them again I would try a super drench right after you finish the CAT drenches too.
